Chapter 7 - Beyond the distortion

As the group approached the ancient temple, a subtle energy seemed to hum in the air. Kaelor twirled his silver-tipped staff with a playful flick. "Ah, a temple! I wonder if it has snacks inside," he muttered, grinning mischievously. Alex rolled his eyes.

Before anyone could respond, the air shifted, and two figures appeared ahead. Mya and Lyra stood side by side, their gazes locked on the group. Mya's expression was sharp and confident, while Lyra's bright, adventurous smile softened the tension.

Mya spoke first, her voice firm. "Who… are you?"

Alex stepped forward cautiously. "Uh… we're just travelers, exploring the temple. I'm Alex, and these are my friends… Kaelor, Kira, Ethan, and Liam."

Kaelor gave a dramatic bow. "Greetings! I am Kaelor, wizard of immense wisdom… and occasional silliness. Careful, my humor is dangerously contagious."

Lyra tilted her head, amused. "A wizard, huh? Interesting."

Ethan smirked and waved lazily. "Hey, old buddy Liam, this is going to be fun," he said with a wink.

Liam fidgeted behind the others, adjusting his glasses nervously. "Um… hi," he muttered, eyes wide.

Mya's gaze flicked to Liam, then to the rest of the group. "So… you're all here for… exploration?" she asked cautiously.

Alex nodded. "Something like that. Just trying to see what's inside the temple."

Kaelor stepped forward, grinning broadly. "Well, well! Seems we've stumbled upon some new acquaintances. I do hope you're ready for a day of excitement and mild chaos!"

Lyra laughed lightly. "Excitement and chaos? Sounds like a normal day with you, huh?"

Mya's lips curved into a small smirk. "I guess it could be entertaining."

Ethan nudged Liam. "See? Not so scary. Just roll with it."

Liam swallowed nervously, but a small smile appeared. "I… I'll try."

Kaelor clapped his hands together. "Excellent! Now that introductions are over, shall we see what secrets this temple holds?"

As they moved deeper inside, the temple seemed alive. Shadows danced along the stone walls, the wind whispered through cracks in the ceiling, and every corner hinted at hidden mysteries. Mya's confidence and Lyra's adventurous spirit guided them, while Kaelor's playful remarks kept the mood light, despite the strange energy surrounding the place.

Alex glanced at his friends and the new arrivals, feeling a spark of excitement. Whatever awaited them in the temple, he knew one thing: this journey had just gotten a lot more interesting.
