Wael groaned as he was forced back, his lance unable to reach his opponent. Shapur's strong and tall shield was like an insurmountable wall of iron to him. And his large sword was as swift as it was heavy. Shapur would block his thrust and then counter with a quick slash, which Wael would narrowly avoid.
The knight could finally see why Shapur didn't need a bodyguard in the first place.
He was strong.
Too strong.
In the end, the best Wael was able to do was hit and run away as he tried to create an opening, but Shapur's defence and offense were perfect. " Have you gone all rusty by my cousin's side? I told you! Staying with the weak would only make you as them!"
Wael's eye twitched at the blatant insult. " Never speak of Prince Arslan with disrespect!"
He dashed forward, and Shapur brought up his shield, but Wael didn't thrust this time.
