" Just how much of an idiot can you be?!" It was quite unclear whether Jaber was trying to mend Masrur's broken leg by that point or tear it off.

 

Masrur, for his part, merely smirked through his sweat and pain. " Are you any better? Who fights a battalion on his own, without even the help of the drugs!"

 

" That's none of your business! I can take care of myself without relying on those tricks!" Masrur gritted his teeth as that sentence was punctuated by a strong tug on the gauze he used to bind the broken leg. " Yet despite our warnings, you went ahead and fought the Aadian headfirst! You're lucky you got out with those wounds! Do you want to die that badly, damn bear?!"

 

" I can ask you the same thing, little snake!" Masrur retorted, his smirk wavering slightly. " You're not better yourself, and yet you're tending to the wounded! Even the enemies!"

 

" Because that's my job! I'm a physician! And they only have one physician themselves!" Jaber responded.
