Chapter 287 - Depth of The Well

Ali Baba never came to understand why people feared darkness.

 

He liked it there in the dark. He felt safe, sheltered, and unworthy of notice. No one saw him, paid him any mind, or bothered him.

 

He was free to be whoever he was and stop pretending.

 

But not all people shared in those sentiments.

 

" Does it really matter if you can't see?" He finally asked, and the weight on his shoulder was lifted.

 

" I don't know where I'm or… what's even out there…" She seemed to be looking around.

 

" You don't have to," he assured her. " I'll be your ears and eyes here. So you don't have to worry. Not that I can see, but I'm much more used to it. The dark never bothered me. If you strain your other senses, it's bound to lead you faithfully."

 

The girl apparently turned towards him, and there was a long pause before she finally spoke." You don't fear it?"

 

" What's there to fear?" He responded.

 

" … The unknown…" she mumbled.
