Cheng Zhiming parked the car at Mu Xinlan's dormitory entrance. He looked up toward her room and sighed inwardly, unsure of whether his sudden visit was right or wrong.
Mu Xinlan was pacing back and forth in her dormitory, feeling conflicted. She had been back for a few minutes when Angel abruptly hung up the phone. If she called again just to refuse, she'd seem petty.
Passing by the window, she saw a luxury car parked below and knew that Cheng Zhiming had come to pick her up. She had ridden in that car before, so she recognized it was him. She bit her lip, unsure whether to pretend she hadn't realized he was there or to simply head downstairs.
Cheng Zhiming sat in the car for several minutes. He clearly saw Mu Xinlan passing by the window, acknowledging his car, yet she hadn't come down.
After thinking for a moment, he picked up his phone and dialed her number. Since he was already here to pick her up, naturally he had to do so, lest Angel be disappointed.
"Jingle Bells..."
