By now, Faraday and his cage weren't really within view. He had chased lightning gods off into the distance, and just from the fluctuations, Vietna could tell that the deities weren't doing any better than before. They were being taken down one by one, utterly drained of their divine lightning, which would be like draining a living of their blood.
Divinity was about achieving a new state of existence, so although they could be referred to as 'living' or 'undead' gods, at the end of the day, they were all gods whose essence was divine energy.
