We arrived at the airport and made our way through special customs, which were surprisingly quick and empty due to the Royal clearance. The air was still a little chilly from the early hour, but it warmed with every passing second as the sun climbed higher.
"Don't laugh, but it will be my first time flying."
We walked hand-in-hand towards the sleek private jet in the distance.
"Why would I laugh? Everyone has a first time," I reassured her, squeezing her hand. "I remember mine; I was terrified and had to be put to sleep by Remy."
Looking at her now, I realized I had planned this without any knowledge about her basic preferences. What if she was so afraid she couldn't get on the plane? Well, live and learn.
"Be honest, are you trying to impress me?" she asked, barely able to hold back a wide smile, her eyes sparkling.
"Well, that too, of course," I admitted with a shrug. "But I really wanted to make our first date special, you know? Something you never forget."
