Chapter 196 - Contact and Split

"Defy Noxus and taste your own blood."~ Darius, The Hand Of Noxus

Have you watched To Be Hero X? It is not the best in terms of story but the animation and music carry it so far ahead. And not only that they got probably the best aura farmer on the planet. X is kinda crazy. Sad to see that the end to the season is on a cliff but lets hope we get S2 in a year.

This would be the only chapter where Arcane cannon will be true. The story from the next chapter onwards will change due to our group's presence. Since I don't have classes tomorrow I will be updating the images.

Since this chapter is kind of a rewrite of the show it will be longer to compensate for more original content. Ay.... what can I say? I spoil you lot. All this WITHOUT having to pay for my subpar writing? I must be the most generous man alive!

Hope I got the characters right. Kinda difficult to write a crazy person.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

She rolled outside with the wrapped package in her hands.

Her eyes red from the fumes and her throat raw.

COUGH COUGH

She let out several painful coughs as she scrambled to her feet to escape the enforcers. The coughs slowly transitioned into screams. Tears ran down her eyes smudging her eyeliner. After letting out another desperate scream, he she turned and began running.

She needed to get home.

To the Last Drop.

WHAM

As she ran to the end of the alley and onto one of the paths leading home, a hand flew out from around the corner slamming into her head, sending her to the ground and the package out to the side.

She grunted looking at her attacker, A Scrap Hacker. One of Smeech's men, with their top hats, suspenders and pants.

Turning as if she aimed to crawl away, she reached for her pistol and swung around aiming at the man's head.

CLANG

The man knocked it out of her hand sending it clattering across the stone.

She glared at the man, still in pain from the hit. He stood over her, spat to the side and lifted her up and slammed her into the wall. As he did, another one joined him and stood before her.

And then saw him.

Smeech.

The Yordle Chembaron. So heavily modified that the only part of his body that remained normal was his ugly head.

He sat on a pipe facing away from her, taking a drag of Shimmer, its purple smoke contrasting the green and the gray of Zaun.

She let out a couple chuckles as the two men frisked her for any valuables. Anything that didn't seem interesting was tossed away.

"Baby blue!" Smeech said as he walked closer, "Right through their fingers..... You must be part eel." His mechanical claws whirled, "Just means I can up my finders fee. There's always a deal to be struck."

He chuckled as his legs extended, raising him to her height, "They want you alive. But don't think I won't skewer out those peepers. Drawback of those long range types. But me?" He held out a metal claw in front of himself, "I'm the kind of guy who likes to get in close." The claw then turned in her direction and extended, stopping just an inch from her eye.

She didn't blink.

Threats like these were meaningless to her. Nothing held meaning anymore.

"Never thought I'd catch you blubbering. Wonder if Silco even saw that?" His claw moved closer.

She blinked, "Twice." Her voice without a care in the world, "When he met me... and when I killed him."

"You?" The claw retracted as Smeech looked surprised at the revelation.

"Its always me." She began with madness in her eyes, "Whether I'm pulling the pin or not, everyone who gets close to me dies. Wanna know the real kicker?" She moved closer to him, her eyes glowing pink, "You are the kind of guy who likes to get.... in... close."

Smeech took a couple steps back as his eyes looked around.

One of the men holding her pulled his hand back to deliver a punch, intending to knock her out.

BANG

A bullet whizzed by knocking his top hat off.

They all turned to the side and watched Sevika come out of the smoke, her hand gripping the girl's gun.

Smeech saw her point the gun in his direction and held out his hand. The claws fanned out and began to spin rapidly.

BANG

BANG

BANG

The spinning claws blocked two of the shots from connecting with Smeech's head.

One of his men cowered to the side as the bullets screamed past his head.

Using the opportunity, she dashed to the package and threw it to Sevika. The package opened mid air and Sevika caught sight of it.

An arm.

Custom made.

Throwing the pistol to the girl she had come to save, Sevika reached for the arm.

BANG

BANG

She shot two bullets killing the man who had slammed her and watched as Sevika slotted the arm into her shoulder.

Sevika looked at the arm in visual confusion as it barely resembled one. Colorful with lots of moving parts and a distinct lack of a hand, instead of which was a metal jaw, lined with sharp teeth.

She turned to the girl.

Jinx.

And gave her the hardest glare she could muster.

Jinx shrugged and dodged the blow coming from behind her and pushed herself against the wall.

Raising her gun she fired off another shot.

But nothing happened.

She looked at the gun.... empty.

The man smiled as he began swinging toward her.

PING

The man turned around as something bounced off him and into the air.

One of the items they had frisked off of Jinx.

It glowed pink before exploding in the air.

A distraction.

CLICK

Jinx pointed her now reloaded gun at the man.

His eyes widened.

BANG

Dead.

She tilted her head to see who had thrown the distraction. The little mute girl that had been following her around.

Smeech rushed toward Sevika trying to rip her limb from limb. He swung his spinning claws at her.

She ducked under the first swing and then dodged around the Yordle avoiding the follow up swings. Another blow came to her head and she leaned far enough back that she was almost sitting.

Turning around and righting herself she got into a traditional boxing stance.

Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted Jinx imitating pulling a lever.

A lever.

On her arm was said lever.

She pulled it and a mechanism whirred into place.

PING

PING

PING

The jaw in her shot off at Smeech.

He ducked under it barely escaping as his top hat fell prey to the snapping jaw.

The wire it was attached to began to recede and the jaw snapped back into place in Sevika's arm. And as it did, the signature sound of Jinx signing erupted from her shoulder.

Grunting, she pulled the lever once more.

PING

PING

PING

Nothing happened.

Smeech used the moment to send his leg flying at her. She raised her hand and tanked the hit, at the same time she pulled the lever down.

PING

PING

PING

Smeech jumped back.

The jaw opened and a gloved fist hit him in the face, sending him bouncing off the ground. Smeech's lower half spun fully and righted himself, he glared at Sevika and leapt at her.

Watching the jaw open and close, Sevika reached out and watched the jaw close around his claw.

RIPPPP

And she pulled it. His hand flew out, completely detached.

And a simple one two punch sent Smeech flying.

Smeech rose to his feet and tried to bargain, "Wait wait wait wait..... There's a deal to be made here."

"You forget Smeech?" Sevika reminded, "You've already made your last offer."

A few more exchanges later,

PING

PING

PING

Smeech was ripped apart on the ground as Jinx and the little girl watched from the side.

PHEW

PHEW

PHEW

BANG

Rockets flew out of Sevika's new arm and into the sky exploding into beautiful fireworks. In the background the one covering behind them ran away in fear.

"Its here!" Briar turned the corner and looked at the group of three standing over the bodies of the attackers.

All three turned to Briar and the arriving group.

"Hi!" Briar waved, "Did you guys shoot the fireworks?"

Jinx and the little girl pointed at Sevika.

"Can you do it again?" Briar asked her.

Sevika froze not being able to handle the sudden ball of energy but then her eyes landed on the seven of them. All displaying different emotions.

"Are they scared of Briar?" Annie asked as she looked around as the last of the sparkly bit disappeared.

"They don't even know who she is...." Faye answered.

Hearing that Briar face palmed and introduced herself, "Hi! I'm Briar! These are my siblings! We saw your fireworks from far away and came to see them up close."

Sydell stepped forward ignoring the three people and observed the bodies. "These are the same guys that attacked us." He looked up, "They attack you too?"

"Why do you care anyway?" Jinx asked as she frowned at the group.

Sydell shrugged, "I don't. I just want to know if these guys attacking is a common thing."

"Won't be a problem anymore." She pointed to Smeech's body.

Sydell squinted, "Is.... is that a Yordle?"

"A dead one." Sevika finally spoke, the green blood spattered across the face making her look menacing.

"What a silly thing to say..." Faye pulled out her notebook and began to note down descriptions of her surroundings, "Yordles don't die. Not really anyway."

"What?" Sevika frowned, "I am pretty sure is dead."

"Well daddy told us that Yordles are made of magic." Faye explained to the woman, "They just wake up back in Yordle land a while later."

"That is the most stupid thing I've-" Sevika began to speak but was cut off by Gregori's arrival.

He took in his surroundings and smiled, "Hi." He gave them a wave, "I hope my children haven't troubled you." His eyes landed on the bodies and then the dead Yordle. His eyes widened, "You killed a Yordle." He stated.

"Thanks for pointing out the obvious." Jinx spoke as she kicked the body to the side.

His children instantly got on the offensive.

"Well miss." Gregori spoke. "My name is Gregori and these are my children." He named all of them. "Might I know yours?"

"You don't know me?" Jinx asked shocked.

Sevika looked equally shocked. "You don't know her?"

"Are we supposed to?" Daisy asked, her hand moving to her blade.

Gregori raised a hand in her direction stopping her from pulling out her sword, "We are tourists. Here to look around. After looking around Zaun, we will go to Piltover."

"Tourists?" Sevika frowned, "Now?"

"Ah... well we did not know about the political climate before coming here." Gregori explained, "It was more of a spontaneous decision." He smiled at them, "Would you mind giving us a name?"

"Wait let me think....." Jinx tapped her chin, "Still no."

"Ah..." Gregori observed the young woman. Lean. But something about her seemed dangerous.

Having lost her interest in the fireworks, Briar walked up to the back wall with a painting on it, "That is really nice." She pointed to it, "Faye can you draw something like this?"

Faye looked at her sister, "I don't draw Briar."

Daisy, however seemed more interested in the woman. "Can I see your arm?"

Without waiting for a reply, she bounded up to Sevika and inspected her arm, "Its very colorful." Her eyes were glowing, "Does it have a sword?"

"Daisy." Gregori called to her, "It is not polite to walk up to someone unless they have relied to your question."

"Okay." She looked up at Sevika, "Can I see your arm?"

Sevika blinked and then slowly she held it out.

Daisy observed it trying her hardest to go close enough without actually touching it.

"Is it possible for you to point me in the way of the deepest part of Zaun?" Gregori asked.

Jinx raised a thumb behind her, "Down the hole."

Gregori and his group leaned to the side spotting the large ventilation hole behind her. It was almost like a ravine.

He walked up to the railing and looked down.

There were fan blades on a rotor going downward. Where? And how deep? He couldn't see. It was too dark.

"That's the deepest part of Zaun?" He asked once more.

Jinx shrugged, "Other than the mines that's about as deep as you are going to get."

Gregori nodded slowly.

He then turned to Sevika, who felt relived as Daisy lost interest and moved away.

"Miss." He called, "Do you know where we can stay the night?" He pulled out the bag of gold, "We are willing to pay."

"Last Drop." Sevika answered immediately, "I own the place."

Jinx looked at her in confusion.

"What? We need the money." Sevika defended herself.

Gregori turned to his children, "Okay..... I will head down there myself.... you guys stay with her in her home." He pulled out a handful of coins from the bag and handed it to Sevika. "This should cover the stay."

"No it won't." Sevika answered eyeing the bag.

"Haaaaaa...." Gregori sighed, "I suppose it won't." He then handed over the entire bag.

Daani pushed forward, "I'm not letting you go alone."

"It will be dangerous Daani." Gregori explained, "I cannot guarantee your safety."

"Well I can." He shot back.

Gregori sighed and turned to Rell, "You are in charge."

"Why her?" Daisy asked.

"Oldest." He answered.

Briar interrupted, "What about me?"

All six of them turned to her wondering if she had really asked that question.

"Okay...." She said downtrodden.

"If anything dangerous happens..." He began.

"Don't be afraid to fight and don't take any prisoners. But try to avoid all combat if possible." All of them repeated.

"And if something extremely dangerous happens?" Gregori asked.

"Then stand behind Tibbers." They all replied in unison.

Gregori nodded as he took off his backpack and slid on his shield and held his wrapped spear in one hand. Slipping on the backpack, he walked to the hole.

"Please don't let them do anything stupid. They are usually well behaved but they get excited sometimes." Gregori told the three, "But they are quite mature and reliable."

"Bye daddy!" Annie and Daisy waved.

"See you soon." Gregori waved and leapt over the railing, instantly disappearing into the darkness. As he fell, he began to unwrap the spear, letting out a wave of magic. He had thought of

"Are we there yet?" Caalyx spoke, his eyes rapidly taking in his surroundings. "Ah.... we are in freefall..."

Back on top, Sydell walked up to Sevika, "Can you lead us there?"

Sevika, Jinx and the small girl's eyes were glued to the hole where the man had just jumped into.

Briar's eyes kept going down as she shivered at the sudden eruption of blood magic. Her father had unwrapped Caalyx.

"Was he suicidal?" Jinx asked the children.

Daisy, Annie and Faye shook their heads.

"Then why did he kill himself?" She asked.

Rell began to chuckle and slowly the entire group devolved into laughter.

Jinx looked at Sevika, "Are they all?" She spun her finger around her head.

"No we are not crazy." Sydell answered, "It is just kind of impossible to kill our father." He answered.

"Seems unlikely." Sevika answered.

Sydell shook his head, "Don't worry. He will be back sometime soon." He then frowned as he looked at Jinx, "Wait..."

"What?" She asked.

He calmed himself, "No. I must be confused." He turned to Sevika, "Will you be leading us to your establishment?"

Sevika sighed audibly and then gestured out of the alley.

The group moved.
