In a distant realm, a living planet inhabited by alternative humans thrived as its inhabitants utilized a remarkable power judiciously. This prudent application of their abilities facilitated a continuous advancement of their civilization over several decades, leading to a state of happiness and peace that they believed would remain unchallenged. However, one fateful day, a formidable entity invaded the planet, inciting widespread chaos. This disruption distorted the solar system and resulted in the emergence of monstrous beings from alternate dimensions. Despite their courageous efforts to resist, humanity ultimately succumbed, teetering on the brink of extinction. In their desperation, the survivors prayed, fled, and sought every possible means to survive, yet they found themselves immobilized in their plight.
Throughout this turmoil, the entity observed with amusement, akin to a spectator watching a chaotic cartoon as human existence neared its end. In a crucial moment, however, a division of the Overseer of Mages encountered this catastrophic continuum. Witnessing humanity's dire situation, they resolved to extend their assistance. The Overseers eliminated all threats on the planet and repaired the interdimensional gates. This intervention startled the entity, inducing panic as it attempted to escape. However, it was too late; an Overseer manifested before it and addressed the entity with a grave tone.
"Do you truly believe you can toy with the souls of the innocent?"
These words instilled profound fear in the entity, which rendered it speechless. It was aware of the power possessed by the Overseer of Mages, individuals capable of creating entire universes, imposing sufficient intimidation on various entities and beings. In a desperate attempt to eradicate the Overseer, the entity unleashed its power; yet, the attack proved ineffective, resulting only in the obliteration of realms beyond the Overseers, who remained unscathed.
Subsequently, the Overseer executed a swift upward motion that sliced through the very fabric of space-time adjacent to the entity, resulting in the immediate destruction of a small scale of existence to the entity's left. This assault transcended a mere physical attack and influenced fundamental concepts themselves. Consequently, the entity chose to flee, achieving a speed that surpassed conventional measures, yet it encountered the Overseer once more. Despite the entity's attempts to disengage, the Overseer outpaced it effortlessly, existing simultaneously in the same location while simultaneously being elsewhere.
With no option but to confront the Overseer, the entity initiated an attack, wielding power that affected concepts, space-time, matter, continuum, light, and darkness. Nonetheless, these efforts were inadequate; the Overseer adeptly evaded each assault as if anticipating their patterns. In response, the Overseer summoned thousands of distorted spheres that launched toward the entity. The entity demonstrated impressive agility, managing to dodge each one as they continued to exchange a series of fierce attacks.
At a critical juncture, an entity's assault targeted the wizard adorned with a hat, resulting in its instantaneous disintegration. However, this event incited the wrath of the Overseer, as the entity subsequently found its attacks rendered ineffective, failing to manifest or even come to fruition. The entity perceived a significant diminishment in its capabilities, struggling to execute offensive maneuvers or to flee, as if the very fabric of reality had altered to prevent its actions. The surroundings began to distort, with entire universes collapsing, and the entity comprehended the gravity of its miscalculation—this situation was notably severe.
The initially stern demeanor of the Overseer transformed into one of intense anger; the entity's body trembled uncontrollably under the weight of the Overseer's gaze. In a sudden occurrence, the entity's rear portion was obliterated, accompanied by the destruction of the multiverses that lay behind it. The Overseer remained motionless, nearly eradicating the entity altogether. In a state of panic, the entity attempted to flee at unprecedented speed; however, fortune had turned against it, as it found itself surrounded by other Overseers who had concluded their engagements with humanity and now turned their attention to him.
The entity, paralyzed by fear, observed as the assemblage of Overseers enclosed around him. The earlier Overseer, Carlo Vos Tyosh, approached with a similar intense stare, while the other Overseers noticed the entity's loss of its hat, prompting a collective effort to maintain composure and refrain from acting impulsively. Subsequently, the entity was escorted to their base for interrogation. The base, situated far from their original Earth and within a distinct dimension, had implemented precautionary measures following the incident involving The Figure's assault on the Overseers and one of their facilities. They had strategically employed magic to obscure the base's presence, effectively nullifying any attempts to locate it through typical means.
After proceeding along a lengthy corridor, Carlo arrived at his office, characterized by the creaking sound of the door as he opened it. The interior displayed a multitude of documents pertaining to multiverse theory. Upon entering and closing the door behind him, he took a seat at the vacant chair before his desk, leaning back with a profound sigh. The walls were adorned with papers containing information that surpassed human comprehension, as he was tasked with uncovering elements of the multiversal structure within the continuum of the multiverse. A considerable number of the documents bore red markings, indicating that the corresponding theories had been deemed erroneous.
It had been an exhausting day for him; however, time held no significance for the Overseers, who resided within a realm where conventional concepts such as time were rendered irrelevant. They severed all connections to their base, resulting in a non-conceptual foundation where many spatial dimensions became so absurd that the abstract notion lost its meaning. His gaze drifted toward a photograph affixed to a billboard beside him, depicting a young boy alongside a Mage. The boy was Carlo, and the Mage by his side was his father, an individual of great importance in his life. The hat that had been destroyed was a treasured gift from his father and was irreplaceable. One fateful day, his father lost his life in the line of duty, and the only remnant of him was that hat. Overwhelmed with grief, Carlo rested his head on his desk, his hands shielding his face. Silence enveloped the room until his attention was drawn to a document placed before him. He picked up the paper for a closer examination and noted its contents regarding a mysterious orb that had once appeared in the Astrealist Kingdom, only to have it entirely erased from existence. The principal suspect in this incident was the enigmatic orb itself. The supervisor of the Overseers assigned Carlo the responsibility of investigating the origin of the orb and determining the circumstances that led to its emergence beneath the kingdom, which resulted in its complete destruction.
He placed the document back on the desk and exhaled deeply, expressing his stress. In addition to losing his hat, he was also tasked with addressing the mystery of the orb. Prior to the recent incident, Carlo had not uncovered a single clue regarding the orb's origin. He had consulted numerous entities across various universes, yet all of them were unaware of the orb's nature. This indicated that the orb was somehow undetectable by any known beings. Evidence on Earth suggested that an orb had ascended into the sky, but it had subsequently vanished without a trace. Simultaneously, in another part of the universe, a unit belonging to the Overseer had encountered significant destruction in the Cosmic Cluster. The galaxies within that region were fragmented, and many had lost their distinct shapes; only a few stars remained visible, while many had been erased from existence. Among the affected galaxies, one spiral galaxy was observed to be bifurcated. This damage could not be attributed to natural phenomena, indicating it was a result of deliberate actions. The unit dispersed to investigate every implicated location, each member striving to find evidence or clues relating to the occurrence. Despite their advanced detection capabilities for identifying any abnormal phenomena, they were unable to register this particular incident.
The unit subsequently returned to a nearby base to report their findings to their supervisor. The supervisor indicated that further investigation was warranted and that he must report the incident to higher authorities. Several years later, a contingent of Virtash Overseers was dispatched to the Cosmic Cluster to conduct an inquiry based on recent reports. Upon their immediate arrival at the location, they commenced their investigation by utilizing their advanced abilities to trace the residual power within the Cosmic Cluster. However, their attempts to track this power proved ineffective. Consequently, they utilized an alternative investigative approach, reaching out to the inhabitants, beings, or civilizations present within the Cosmic Cluster. They navigated to each galaxy that remained stable in the aftermath of the mysterious destruction. One particular Overseer, named Virlo, descended onto the planet Bi-03 and successfully made landfall. Observing the environment, Virlo noted its stark contrast to Earth, characterized by a red desert interspersed with a few hills in the distance. Without further delay, he ascended into the sky to survey the terrain from above, identifying a biome dominated by the red desert. Eventually, he spotted a verdant landscape replete with forested areas, and amidst that forest, he noticed a small village nearby. Virlo then proceeded to approach the village.
Virlo arrived at the entrance of the village, where one of the guards promptly inquired about his identity. Virlo introduced himself calmly, stating that he held the title of Overseer of Mage. However, the guard expressed skepticism regarding his claim, particularly concerning the unfamiliarity of his title in this context. The guard reiterated his request for identification. Virlo sighed, and as the confrontation persisted longer than anticipated, his companions began to materialize, forming a semi-circle and assuming defensive stances with their weapons raised. The guards indicated that they would not extend their trust without further proof of his assertions. Desiring to expedite the situation, Virlo raised one hand, and a complex blue magic circle materialized above his palm, suspended and rotating. At this moment, the guard's expressions transitioned to awe and astonishment, as they had never previously witnessed such magic. They exchanged hesitant glances, unsure of how to proceed. Suddenly, a commanding voice emerged from behind the guards.
"Lower your weapons!"
The guards turned their attention to the source of the voice, revealing an elderly man wielding a peculiar staff. Virlo recognized him as the Chief of the Village. The guards promptly lowered their weapons, permitting the old man to approach Virlo.
"Please accept my apologies for this confrontation. I am the Chief of this Village, my name is Qíoustyh. May I inquire about your name and the purpose of your visit?"
The Chief expressed regret for the earlier encounter and sought to clarify both Virlo's identity and his intent, noting that Virlo was attired in a manner consistent with that of a Wizard, as mages are referred to in this world.
"My name is Virlo Tyor Jesh, and I am the Overseer of Mage. The reason for my visit is to inquire whether you or any of your villagers have observed any notable changes in the sky or have experienced any significant tremors throughout the world."
Virlo articulated his introduction and posed questions that elicited confusion among the villagers. They exchanged glances, whispered among themselves, and exhibited unease regarding his inquiries. Eventually, the Chief responded to Virlo's questions.
"Regrettably, we have not observed any noteworthy changes in the sky, nor have we experienced the tremors you mentioned, young man."
Virlo expressed his discontent upon receiving information from the Chief of the Village, who had apparently failed to notice the alterations in the sky and the tremors caused by explosions. After bowing respectfully, Virlo departed. The villagers exchanged glances filled with confusion and unease regarding the enigmatic inquiries posed by the mysterious figure, ultimately choosing to retreat to their village. Subsequently, Virlo departed from the planet Bi-03, traversing the space-time continuum at an extraordinary velocity, effortlessly surpassing numerous galaxies in an instant. He continued to survey his surroundings, exploring the continuum in search of clues.
Decades passed, yet the incident involving the Cosmic Cluster remained an enigma. Nevertheless, all Overseer of Mages remained vigilant and prepared to take action should any disturbances arise within their Universe. Many members of both Virtash and Gôrisquarh theorized that the destruction within the Cosmic Cluster was orchestrated by a being referred to as The Figure; however, a significant number contended that The Figure was not the perpetrator. Investigations had taken place following The Figure's previous attacks, which had proven far more devastating than the recent incident. It was understood that The Figure possessed the capacity to obliterate not only a Cosmic Cluster but potentially existence itself, or even more. In a different location, Tôrvirsh, a newly inducted member of Virtash, was stationed within a universe of his own creation, specifically his Cosmic Cluster. He suddenly observed an elusive light in the far distance, moving at a remarkable speed that allowed it to traverse multiple Cosmic Clusters with ease. Tôrvirsh made the decision to pursue this mysterious light. Despite his efforts, he found himself unable to maintain pace with it. The minuscule light receded further from him, and he attempted to accelerate his speed, surpassing the speed of light and defying the constraints of time itself. However, he could only glimpse the light momentarily; a spherical shape, glowing amidst the cosmos, leaving trails of luminescence in its wake.
Tôrvirsh recognized his inability to maintain the pace of the Orb, prompting him to raise his hand and direct it toward the Orb's trajectory. In response, an abrupt manifestation of a dimensional distortion barrier, referred to as the Wall of Distortion, emerged before the Orb. This ability reshapes reality itself, compressing an infinite number of dimensions into a singular construct that distorts each dimension continuously. This distortion becomes so dense that even the gravitational force of a black hole cannot alter its position, rendering it an immovable barrier within the fabric of reality. Such a barrier possesses the capacity to fracture the very essence of that reality. The Orb attempted to navigate the wall, making a sharp right turn. However, Tôrvirsh expanded the wall's length, continuously adding an infinite number of dimensions to obstruct the Orb's path. Despite this, the Orb nearly outpaced the Wall of Distortion. Tôrvirsh understood that allowing the Orb to escape would leave the enigma of its origin and power unresolved. Determined to capture it, he intensified his ability, incrementally increasing the number of dimensions from ℵ0 to ℵ1, then ℵ2, and so forth. This expansion extended beyond the confines of the Cosmic Cluster itself; however, even this enhancement proved insufficient to surpass the Orb, which ultimately exceeded the limits of Tôrvirsh's Wall of Distortion.
"Tch, it has surpassed the range of the Distortion Wall,"
He remarked, expressing his frustration. He then initiated a dash in the same direction as the Orb. Although he was considerably distant from it, he observed a faint trail of light emitted by the Orb, which he intended to use as a guide for location. Suddenly, a massive explosion erupted precisely at the location of the Orb. The subsequent shockwave resonated throughout the cosmos, causing galaxies to undulate like waves and momentarily destabilizing the gravitational forces of the nearby black hole. Tôrvirsh halted in his tracks, his eyes widening in shock and trepidation as he witnessed a colossal sphere exhibiting a multitude of colors. Cracks along the surface of the sphere indicated that dimensions could no longer contain it; eventually, the massive orb began to dissipate, leaving behind only an empty expanse.
"What was that?"
He pondered, bewildered...
In that particular location, the Orb remained stationary, its form beginning to distort as if it would lose its distinct shape. Subsequently, behind the Orb, The Figure materialized, arms crossed over its chest, and a broad grin adorning its face. The recent explosion was attributed to The Figure. The Orb regarded The Figure, despite the absence of a conventional human visage.
"Ah, YôuthVōrth—The Core of The Multiverse. It is indeed uncommon for you to descend into this realm. You must be aware that the stability of The Multiverse has been compromised since your departure. It prompts one to question your reasons for leaving, as you are considered the 'Core' of it."
The Figure articulated this observation, revealing the enigmatic nature of the Orb as The Core of The Multiverse—YôuthVōrth. The Figure's familiarity with the Orb's identity indicated prior encounters. YôuthVōrth reacted subtly upon the disclosure of its identity, resulting in a moment of silence between the two entities, neither making a move, simply engaging in mutual observation. Finally, YôuthVōrth broke the silence.
"The Figure, Wherefore I didst venture hither, is not thy concern. And touching upon the Multiverse, fret not, for I didst leave a portion of mine own self to maintain its steadfastness; thus, even in my absence, it shall not crumble."
YôuthVōrth responded, its words resonating with reassurance; however, The Figure remained unresponsive for a brief moment. Then, in an astonishingly swift motion, The Figure pointed his finger toward a specific direction, from which a small beam emerged. Approaching from a distance was Tôrvirsh, but before he could advance significantly, he was struck by the same tiny beam on the head. Instantly, his entire body dissipated into nothingness.
"One less annoying obstacle is now gone. Now, I implore you to surrender and align yourself with me. I have elaborated on my plan during one of our previous interactions; however, when I returned, you were absent. I will not accept any refusal at this time."
The Figure's words lingered ominously towards The Orb, prompting questions regarding his motives for wanting YôuthVōrth's allegiance, which remain a mystery. Meanwhile, in the headquarters of the Overseers of Mage, the most recent newest Overseer, Richard, engaged in a dialogue with a member of Virtash. As Richard, the newly appointed Overseer, had not yet fully uncovered various aspects of his role and often found himself perplexed, he chose to seek guidance from Yôrish Birue, a member of Virtash. Their conversation began with Yôrish providing insights to clarify Richard's uncertainties.
"I've met the ones who conceived what they called Cantor's Attic—a vast structure built upon the concept of infinity's hierarchy. It includes the foundations of set theory and mathematical logic. Their names were Jōvidkins and Tôriagit. Together, they sought to create a resource devoted to every known concept of mathematical infinity; Zermelo–Fraenkel set theory, large cardinals, and beyond."
"They wanted the world to understand the nature of infinity,"
Yôrish said, placing a heavy volume upon the table—Cantor's Attic. Richard gazed at the cover before opening it, revealing page after page detailing the relationships between ordinals, large cardinal axioms, and classical paradoxes such as Zeno's paradoxes and Thomson's Lamp.
"As you can see,"
He continued,
"The book is organized into distinct sections—one for finite numbers, another for paradoxes, and many more. The paradoxes, of course, illustrate the strange and self-contradictory aspects of infinity itself."
Richard listened intently. The work was nothing short of monumental—a compendium of everything ever theorized about infinity, woven into a single coherent structure they called Cantor's Attic.
"So, the book addresses the concept of infinity and the associated theories related to it."
Yôrish acknowledged this with a subtle smile.
"Indeed, the objective was to establish a comprehensive and collaborative resource for the understanding of mathematical infinity."
Richard came to understand that the term 'Cantor's Attic' refers to a conceptual space where all aspects of mathematical infinity reside, including paradoxes associated with it. He recalled the example of Thompson's Lamp, which raises questions regarding the state of a hypothetical lamp after an infinite series of actions involving turning it on and off.
"We employ the term 'Cantor's Attic' in our documentation to quantify size, distance, and both the quantitative and qualitative aspects of objects, and many more. Thus, Cantor's Attic represents a hierarchy of infinity. After all, even the Berkeley Cardinal alone, or an infinite number of them, would be insufficient to fully calculate the cosmos or even our universe."
"Although many advanced civilizations, beings, and entities employ similar terminologies for the purpose of understanding the cosmos."
Yôrish further elucidated that the frequent inclusion of 'Cantor's Attic' in various documents pertains to the locations or objects being referenced. Additionally, other entities also utilize the terminology from Cantor's Attic to analyze the cosmos. Richard inquired once more,
"What is the role of dimensions? Could they encompass something akin to Cantor's Attic?"
Yôrish, rather than providing a direct response, slid a folded piece of paper towards Richard and lightly tapped it with his index finger, a faint smile adorning his face.
"Regarding dimensionality, offering a verbal explanation would be overly complex. However, this document contains the information you require."
Richard grasped the paper and began to unfold it, revealing a remarkable quantity of text that seemed almost to exceed the confines of the page. He expressed his astonishment at the sheer volume of content as he commenced reading the information contained within the document.
[In this very existence, there are layers of dimensional realities separating the higher planes from the lower ones, each maintaining an equilibrium within the grand structure of being. The lower strata cannot directly perceive the higher, yet through transcendence—mathematical, metaphysical, or otherwise, one may ascend into them. From the standpoint of pure mathematics, dimensions are formalized as ordered continua: beginning with the 0th dimension; points, extending to the 1st; lines, to the 2nd; planes, to the 3rd; volumes, and proceeding indefinitely toward higher-dimensional topologies. Each dimension contains, in a structural sense, an uncountable aggregation of elements from the one beneath it. The real line ℝ¹, for instance, is formed from an uncountable collection of zero-dimensional points, yet as a whole it possesses richer topological and measure-theoretic properties.
However, the true complexity of dimension becomes evident when one extends this reasoning beyond the finite and even beyond the countable. The set of real numbers ℝ, with cardinality c = 2ℵ0, already surpasses the countably infinite ℵ0. Each increase in dimension, while topologically homeomorphic to ℝ for any finite n—represents a conceptual layering of structures that transcends simple enumeration. Mathematics recognizes that infinity itself is not a single entity but a hierarchy of magnitudes, stratified across the Aleph sequence:]
[ℵ0<ℵ1<ℵ2<...<ℵω<…]
[and so forth without bound.]
[Each infinite cardinal κ gives rise to mathematical spaces of κ-dimensional structure. For every infinite κ, one can construct a vector space with dimension κ or a topological product of κ copies of ℝ, forming spaces of unimaginable vastness. These are not geometric in the ordinary sense but abstract continua—each an autonomous "realm" of higher cardinality. Yet beyond these infinite-dimensional constructions lies an even deeper realm; the hierarchy of large cardinals, which are not mere numbers but profound axioms postulating the existence of immense transfinite entities whose reflection properties define the outer limits of set-theoretic reality.]
[Inaccessible cardinals introduce the first step beyond the cumulative hierarchy of ZFC. A cardinal κ is inaccessible if it is uncountable, regular, and strong limit—forming a miniature universe closed under set formation. Mahlo cardinals extend reflection further; κ is Mahlo if the set of all inaccessible cardinals below κ is stationary in κ, meaning that κ "sees" inaccessibility reflected at every level beneath it. Weakly compact and measurable cardinals follow, the latter defined by the existence of a non-trivial κ-additive, 2-valued measure on all subsets of κ. This measure provides an elementary embedding j: V→M, where V is the universe of sets and M is a transitive class containing all sequences of length less than κ. Strongly compact and supercompact cardinals strengthen this property, where supercompactness means that for every λ ≥ κ, there exists an elementary embedding j: V→M with critical point κ and M ⊇ Vλ. Here, κ acts as a generator of universes capable of internally reproducing any structure below it. Extendible cardinals surpass supercompact ones: κ is extendible if for every λ > κ there exists an elementary embedding j: Vλ→Vμ for some μ > λ with critical point κ, effectively allowing the universe to "stretch" itself through embeddings that reach indefinitely higher strata. Huge and superhuge cardinals amplify this further, admitting embeddings where j(κ)>λ and the target class models contain copies of V of enormous size. Rank-into-rank cardinals represent a critical threshold, characterized by embeddings j: Vλ+1→Vλ+1 for some λ. These cardinals (such as I0, I1, I2, and so on) imply reflection of the entire rank structure of the universe into itself, essentially self-similarity on the level of total set-theoretic construction. A Reinhardt cardinal κ is defined by the existence of a non-trivial elementary embedding j: V to V. Though inconsistent with ZFC, they are consistent with ZF (without Choice) and form the foundation of the realm of non-well-founded large cardinals—those that transcend all definable universes.]
[Beyond all of them stand the Berkeley cardinals, an entities so immense that they cannot exist within any well-founded model of ZFC. A Berkeley cardinal κ in a model of Zermelo–Fraenkel set theory with the property that for every transitive set M that includes κ and α < κ, defined by the existence of non-trivial elementary embeddings between transitive sets j: M→M with α < critical point < κ for every transitive set M containing κ. This is a self-similarity not confined to a single universe, but one replicated across all possible transitive stages of reality. In the presence of a Berkeley cardinal, every transitive subuniverse containing it reflects the total structure of V through nontrivial elementary self-embeddings. The embeddings establish a comprehensive hierarchy interconnected into a network of self-referential systems—an infinitely ascending lattice of reflection. This structure, while firmly grounded in its membership, exhibits non-well-founded characteristics within its intricate web of embeddings. There exists no definitive upper limit or "largest" domain; rather, each level possesses the capacity to generate another that mirrors its entirety. Within this framework, one may perceive "dimensions" not solely as spatial axes but as cardinal modes of existence. The transition from finite-dimensional geometry to the extensive realm of transfinite entities mirrors the progression through successive orders of reflection. A Berkeley-dimensional domain may thus be conceptualized as a structure wherein universes themselves function as elements of higher-dimensional continua. Here, "distance" is not understood through metric separation but rather defined by the intensity of the embedding between layers of reality. Each superior large cardinal signifies a more robust form of internal mirroring, representing a higher "dimensional stratum" of being from a metaphysical standpoint. This is not a space in a geometric sense; it is a meta-ontological dimension wherein mathematical universes are considered points, and the act of reflection among them constitutes the foundational structure of transcendence.]
[In reference to Cantor's Attic, one might consider the implications of dimension within that conceptual framework. In this context, dimension signifies not a characteristic of space or time, but rather a structure intrinsic to the transfinite hierarchy. This framework serves as the repository of all infinities, with each level encompassing a reflection of all preceding levels. Consequently, this Dimension is not quantified in meters or light-years but evaluated in terms of orders of cardinality. Each "height" within this hierarchy corresponds to an infinite magnitude of existence.]
[For instance, level-zero is represented by ℵ0, level-one by ℵ1, level-two by ℵ2, progressing to level-∞ designated as κ-Supercompact, and eventually level-Ω identified as κ-Berkeley.]
[Each stratum transcends the one before it not by degree, but by mode of existence. To ascend from one layer to another is to move into a domain where even the concept of the previous infinity becomes countable—a reversal of comprehension that shatters the logic of the lower world. Ordinary consciousness cannot survive here; it dissolves under the recursion of self-reference. This Dimension will have no metric curvature, yet possesses ordinal curvature—the bending of logical distance rather than spatial distance. Points are replaced by set-universes; coordinates by embedding relations. Motion through this realm is accomplished not by displacement but by reflection, where one's entire informational structure is projected into a higher embedding. Every region of the Dimension functions as a mirror-hall of self-similarity; a small neighborhood inherently contains every possible shape and structure, encoded at a lower cardinal scale. However, when observed from an elevated perspective, these patterns manifest merely as dust upon the floor of the subsequent transfinite hall. Within this dimension, the concept of existence becomes recursive; each object acts as a reflection of a higher, more comprehensive entity. Causality operates on a transfinite level, with causes potentially originating from any ordinal height and descending through embeddings to produce effects in lower layers. Space correlates with hierarchy; what may appear as physical distance represents the gap in logical strength between various cardinal levels. Energy is defined as reflection-rate; the velocity of ascent in embedding determines an entity's luminosity or metaphysical "heat."]
[Consequently, this dimension exemplifies the ultimate architecture of infinity. Whereas conventional dimensions encode degrees of freedom, the Dimension of Cantor's Attic encodes degrees of transcendence. It serves as both the blueprint of mathematics and the metaphysical structure underlying all universes—each cosmos representing a floorboard within its boundless framework.]
Richard was perplexed, having not fully comprehended the contents of the paper; the explanations presented were too complex for him to grasp each individual point. However, two aspects particularly captured his attention: the relationship between large cardinals and dimensions—specifically the Berkeley dimension. This dimension postulates that universes are represented as points, with embeddings serving as connections, and that self-reflection ultimately defines its topology. Additionally, the dimension represented within Cantor's Attic encapsulates the ultimate architecture of infinity.
"You may not be aware that this current base location is, in fact, situated within the Berkeley dimension. Upon entering this dimension, you likely sensed an anomaly regarding distance, correct? As indicated in the paper, distance is no longer defined by the metric separation. Instead, the mathematical universe comprises points, and the act of reflection between these points constitutes transcendence. In this context, we find ourselves at the threshold of the dimension."
Yôrish articulated, effectively breaking the silence that surrounded them. Richard paused, having sensed an irregularity in distance, yet he had not realized that he had entered the realm of the Berkeley dimension. Before he could formulate a response, a massive shockwave reverberated throughout the entire dimension, accompanied by an immediate alarm blaring throughout the base. Richard promptly rose alongside Yôrish as a voice emanated throughout the facility.
"Attention to all personnel, please remain calm, we are not under attack. I have determined that the source of the recent shockwave originates from a distant location, beyond our current realm. Please reassure everyone accordingly."
This message was broadcast through the speakers by the leader responsible for managing the base. It alleviated concerns among the personnel, who had initially feared a repeat of previous attacks; this time, however, it was not the case. Gradually, the atmosphere shifted from one of tension to calm. Yôrish released a deep sigh and sank into his chair, visibly relieved.
"I am very grateful. I truly believed we were under assault from 'The Figure' once again."
Richard turned to Yôrish, confusion evident on his face at the mention of 'The Figure'. He had joined the Overseer of Mages only after the incident involving this entity.
"Could you clarify who this 'Figure' is? Did it indeed attack our base?"
Yôrish looked at Richard, remembering that he was unaware of the event in question. Many Overseer of Mages across the Universe were familiar with the incident, while only a few new Overseers had heard about it.
"It is not merely a figure, it is referred to as 'The Figure'. That designation reflects our classification of this being, about whom we possess limited information. The Figure is extraordinarily powerful and has exhibited a tendency to toy with us. During its initial assault on our base, it displayed a smirk while effortlessly defeating not only Virtash but also our higher-ranking and most formidable Mages. I find the experience of being humiliated by this entity quite distressing. Should you ever encounter this being, I strongly advise immediate withdrawal. It typically will not interfere with you unless you obstruct its plans."
Yôrish issued a grave warning, his words laden with profound intensity and hostility. Richard found himself frozen, rendered speechless by an unfamiliar display of anger from Yôrish; he observed the clenched fists of his companion. Meanwhile, in an entirely different part of the Universe, YôuthVōrth soared through space at an unprecedented velocity, transcending even the very concept of time and surpassing distances that encompass the entirety of Cantor's Attic. In pursuit of YôuthVōrth was The Figure, launching multiple energy beams simultaneously. Fortunately, YôuthVōrth adeptly evaded each beam, although their discharges resulted in significant explosions that reverberated throughout the Universe. Both entities, The Figure and YôuthVōrth, operated at remarkable speeds, and within a matter of moments, they transcended the continuum of the Universe, navigating toward higher dimensions. Despite the unrelenting attacks directed at YôuthVōrth, it refrained from retaliating.
"You cannot evade me indefinitely, YôuthVōrth. No matter where you go, I shall always pursue you."
The Figure declared. Each increase in speed from The Figure provoked an even swifter response from YôuthVōrth, as they traversed a realm beyond the reach of even the Overseer of Mages—venturing beyond the confines of the Multiverses. Here, an intricate web of greater-than-infinite Multiverses diminished to a mere point, and dimensions expanded far beyond the previous scale. Ultimately, YôuthVōrth resolved to engage in combat, launching several blue energy beams that skillfully maneuvered to avoid all incoming attacks from The Figure. However, The Figure neutralized each of these assaults instantaneously.
Suddenly, a blinding flash occurred, temporarily impairing The Figure's vision, affecting him despite his existence surpassing the limitations of light itself. This flash, however, was not merely light; it possessed a distinct structure, concept, and composition. It embodied a concept that encompassed all others, akin to a human being blindfolded with a cloth—yet instead of darkness, it represented a white void. The Figure was momentarily taken aback, halting his advance, as he found himself unable to perceive anything, despite his transcendence over all forms, including directions, dimensions, mathematical constructs, motion, time, and space. Recognizing this attack as the creation of YôuthVōrth, The Figure was confronted with an entirely new concept with which he was unfamiliar. Several beams struck The Figure's form, annihilating parts of his abstract appearance and forcing him backwards. Despite this, he regenerated with a speed that outpaced even the passage of time. Nevertheless, the inflicted pain persisted, yet he found amusement in the experience.
"It has been quite some time since I endured pain. It is truly exhilarating to encounter an adversary of equal caliber, YôuthVōrth. Shall we engage in a contest of our abilities?"
The Figure's expressions are often difficult to comprehend; he exudes a sense of arrogance while simultaneously recognizing his own limitations, yet he tends to behave in a reckless manner. In contrast, YôuthVōrth maintains a composed demeanor and responds thoughtfully to The Figure's remarks.
"Verily, thou art ever mad, each fray, each battle, each circumstance, all seem but games to thee for merriment. And each deed of thine doth hold peril, which thou knowest full well, yet thou art heedless and reckless evermore."
YôuthVōrth articulated its divine message with a tone reminiscent of melodic harmonies. The Figure regarded YôuthVōrth's statements with a smirk, perceiving them merely as nonsensical. With remarkable speed, The Figure raised his hand, resulting in the emergence of thousands of twinkling lights resembling stars surrounding YôuthVōrth. Recognizing the imminent threat, YôuthVōrth promptly vacated the vicinity. Upon its departure, an explosion resembling abstract visuals obliterated the surrounding area. Reality shattered, concepts dissolved, and structures crumbled into innumerable fragments, with dimensions colliding against one another. YôuthVōrth summoned its power to contain the widespread explosion. Once the chaos subsided, The Figure materialized directly in front of YôuthVōrth and delivered a punch that propelled it away with significant force. In a mere second, YôuthVōrth traversed countless webs of greater-than-infinite Multiverses. After the force of the knockback diminished, YôuthVōrth accelerated beyond its previous speed. In response, The Figure unleashed another series of assaults, each capable of dismantling the vast works of existence. These attacks disrupted the grand order, akin to a stick stirring cobwebs or flames consuming a web.
Such assaults were beyond the comprehension of ordinary intellects; even the brilliant minds among the Overseer of Mages could not grasp the perplexing nature of these strikes. The Figure pursued YôuthVōrth, gradually closing the distance. In response, YôuthVōrth intensified its speed, traversing a vast expanse of timeless realm where the constructs of past, present, and future ceased to exist. Linear time was negligible, as it could not articulate the other concepts inherent to this realm. YôuthVōrth ceased its retreat and turned to confront The Figure. A glimpse of abstract light materialized as The Figure surged toward his adversary, signaling the commencement of their clash. The subsequent exchange of attacks revealed both parties to be evenly matched, resulting in an enduring engagement that ascended into higher planes of existence...
One of the members of the Virtash traversed a distinct Universe, journeying across the continuum to oversee the activities occurring within this continuum. This individual, known as Mártvsh Vos Leth, observed his surroundings with a sense of wonder. Over time, he consciously decelerated his movements, captivated by the unparalleled beauty of the Universe that ordinary humans are often unable to comprehend. The cosmos presented a vibrant tableau, with various Universes displaying remarkable similarities. Mártvsh felt a deep sense of appreciation for the extraordinary environment unfolding before him; however, he was cognizant that his primary responsibility was to monitor this Universe. He understood the importance of not being distracted by the aesthetic allure of the cosmos, aware of the inherent dangers associated with his duties. The Overseer of Mages are recognized by numerous beings across the Multiverse, eliciting a range of responses: some entities express admiration and seek alliances, while others adopt a neutral stance.
Unfortunately, there are also beings who harbor animosity towards the Mages and aspire to their elimination. It is within this context that the potential threats arise, as such entities may strike at any moment. Mártvsh had been cautioned by his superiors to remain vigilant, ensuring that he did not let his guard down in any situation. As he continued his journey through the continuum, he sensed an immediate danger. Suddenly, numerous attacks were launched against him. In a matter of seconds, Mártvsh adeptly evaded all of them. Upon assessing his surroundings, he observed five figures standing at a distance. These beings appeared humanoid and were clad in black cloaks, obscuring their entire forms. Notably, Mártvsh perceived their glares, which were filled with hostility and marked by intense murderous intent.
The five beings then dispersed, encircling Mártvsh from all directions. One of the beings, exhibiting extraordinary velocity, maneuvered with precision beyond conventional understanding. From his rear, it generated dark threads that ensnared Mártvsh, significantly impeding his movement. A hand directed towards Mártvsh immediately manifested a ray of green light, which projected forth and struck him, triggering a massive explosion characterized by intense heat and subsequent radiation. Before the explosion could dissipate, a barrage of attacks ensued, comprising fireballs, yellow sphere-like projectiles, red beams, and a multitude of other varied assaults orchestrated by the five beings. The sheer magnitude of energy unleashed caused the fabric of reality to tremble, fracturing dimensions and producing shockwaves that reverberated throughout the continuum. Once the onslaught ceased, the five beings observed the aftermath, as thick smoke and debris enveloped Mártvsh. They presumed that he had perished, deeming survival against such a relentless assault impossible. As the smoke gradually dissipated, a shadowy figure emerged from within it, eliciting widened eyes from the five beings as they beheld Mártvsh, revealing that he remained completely unscathed, having sustained no injuries from the offensive.
"You guys thought that attacks would be enough?"
A faint energy field surrounded Mártvsh, serving as a protective barrier that successfully absorbed all incoming attacks, leaving him unscathed. This barrier was both impenetrable and indestructible, creating an atmosphere of silence in the vicinity. The five beings present exchanged glances before refocusing their attention on Mártvsh. Suddenly, a series of sharp shadow spikes were launched towards him; however, the protective barrier easily deflected these attacks. Mártvsh observed the spikes with confusion, questioning the efficacy of such a futile assault. At that moment, all five beings initiated their respective attacks. In response, Mártvsh manifested magic circles instantaneously, generating rapid, concentrated beams of energy. The five beings rapidly dispersed, yet continued their assault. Mártvsh began to adeptly evade the incoming attacks while simultaneously employing his magical abilities to counter their efforts. A vigorous exchange of attacks ensued as he maneuvered swiftly between their offensive actions. As Mártvsh approached one of the beings, the being recognized the impending threat and instinctively retreated to create distance. Nevertheless, Mártvsh persistently pursued him. Before Mártvsh could close the gap, a golden fire spear struck his barrier, compelling him to halt his advance. Subsequently, multiple similar spears were launched, but the barrier effectively neutralized all of them. Another being from the group then appeared behind Mártvsh, unleashing immense energy directed toward him. An explosion ensued, and as the smoke dissipated, various magic circles became visible, each one distinct from the others. Some circles represented elemental magic at a level capable of destabilizing the cosmos, while others were entirely new concepts devised by the Overseer of Mages. Mártvsh swiftly vacated his previous position as the magic circles began to activate. Meanwhile, the remaining beings continued their relentless assault, and Mártvsh summoned a multitude of additional magic circles in response.
The confrontation persists, extending indefinitely as the fabric of reality quivers under the strain. Five beings engage against a single Overseer of Mage, causing countless realms to vanish in the wake of their assaults. All sentient beings residing within this Universe are deliberately avoiding the conflict, wishing to remain outside the line of fire. Mártvsh maintains his composure, fully aware that his protective barrier remains robust enough to endure the onslaught. He then recites an ancient magic imbued with an extraordinary source of mana, directing it against the incoming attacks. He effortlessly neutralizes the assortment of assaults from the five beings. As one of them appears to Mártvsh's right, it employs the Jôur of Darkness, unleashing a formidable dark beam that propels Mártvsh backward. Concurrently, dark-matter missiles rain down upon him, enveloping him in thick, dark smoke. Nevertheless, Mártvsh's protective barrier successfully withstands these strikes. From within the obscuring smoke, he casts numerous spells aimed at the five beings. In response, they mobilize their powers to counteract his magic; one being attempts to sever the very concept of the barrier. However, in a swift instant, this attempt is rendered ineffective, as Mártvsh gestures with his hand, summoning countless abstract magical circles known as Bràstack Nierm. These circles release projectiles that defy conventional understanding, traveling at a velocity so extraordinary that time itself appears to falter. The five beings react with remarkable speed, dispersing to evade the oncoming projectiles. Regrettably, one being is struck, resulting in the complete erasure of a portion of its arm, accompanied by an abstract flame. Immediately, this abstract fire begins to engulf the being's arm, proving impervious to removal or vanishment, even against erasure forces that typically succeed. Faced with no alternative, the being resorts to severing his own arm in a desperate effort to prevent the flame from spreading to vital areas. With a gaze filled with fury, he intensifies his murderous intent tenfold.
In a distant region of the Multiverse, several Overseer of Mages traversed with remarkable speed, fulfilling their responsibility to monitor and intervene in instances of irregularity. Then they encountered a Universe that was experiencing significant upheaval. Upon approaching, they observed Mártvsh engaged in combat against five formidable beings. After a brief exchange of glances, the Overseers resolved to take action and accelerated their approach with extraordinary velocity. Upon their arrival, the five beings became aware of the other Overseers' presence. One of the beings quietly communicated with the others.
"They must belong to the █████ organization. Engage them! Ensure they do not evade capture."
One of the Overseers issued an order to his companion to capture the five beings. The other Overseer of Mages within his unit promptly commenced their actions, conjuring a spell of restraint from their hands. Meanwhile, the five beings positioned themselves by pressing their bodies against one another, creating a circular formation. At that moment, Mártvsh experienced a sense of unease as he observed this alignment. He quickly realized the implications and began casting multiple magic circles, directing his attacks toward the five beings. However, before either Mártvsh's spell or those of the other Overseers could reach their targets, a peculiar energy—a spiral energy—enveloped the five beings, causing them to vanish without leaving any trace. The other Overseers halted in shock, while Mártvsh's attempts proved unsuccessful. The individual who had ordered the apprehension of the five beings, Drovth Blov Fargh, who held the same rank as Mártvsh—Virtash—advanced towards Mártvsh while surveying the devastation left in the wake of the confrontation.
"It has been quite a challenging day, has it not, Mártvsh? Encountering those beings certainly presents its difficulties."
Drovth addressed Mártvsh while a smile was evident on his face, placing his hand gently on Mártvsh's shoulder. A soft chuckle escaped Drovth's lips. Previously, Drovth had been a partner of Mártvsh; as time progressed, Drovth attained a higher rank than Mártvsh and was subsequently assigned to a different unit within his rank. After several years, Mártvsh also achieved the same rank as Drovth; however, they had not had the opportunity to meet, as both were occupied with their respective responsibilities.
"It was not particularly challenging. I possess Ghoirism, and thus far, my barrier has remained unscratched despite being outnumbered. Nevertheless, those beings exhibit considerable weakness."
"One should not underestimate them, Mártvsh. Although their abilities may be inferior to ours, they possess knowledge that we may lack, and their longevity affords them insights that could surpass our understanding. This confrontation may very well be part of a larger strategy on their part, necessitating greater caution on our end. As the saying goes, 'do not judge a book by its cover.' That idiom serves as a reminder to assess beyond mere power, as they may have concealed tactics that could potentially overpower us."
Drovth addressed Mártvsh immediately after he concluded his statement, cautioning him not to underestimate his opponents, even if their appearances may suggest weakness. Other attributes of these adversaries may surpass expectations.
"Fine, I shall not underestimate them again."
Mártvsh raised his hands in a mocking gesture, indicating his dismissal of Drovth's concerns. However, Drovth was well aware of Mártvsh's consistent behavior, which had not changed over time. Drovth understood that Mártvsh would likely refrain from engaging in reckless actions during dangerous situations, suggesting that he perceived the current situation as non-threatening. Consequently, Mártvsh, Drovth, and their team departed the Universe to return to headquarters and report the earlier incident.
In the following period, news of the incident and the confrontation involving one of the Overseer of Mages and the hostile organization disseminated throughout the Multiverses. This prompted the Gôrisquarh rank Mages to deploy numerous Virtash Mages to investigate and locate the hostile organization's base, with the intention of dismantling it completely. The Gôrisquarh recognized that allowing such an organization to persist could pose a significant threat to Humanity in the future, as they were concerned that these adversaries might develop means or weapons potent enough to challenge even the Overseer of Mages themselves. The vastness of the Cosmos remains a realm of mysteries, particularly in areas beyond the influence of the Overseer of Mages. However, there exist beings who have lived far longer than they have, possessing knowledge of what lies beyond their comprehension.
