Chapter 28 - “Chakra and Defiance: Ryuji Provokes Hiashi's Pride”

Hiashi looked at Ryuji calmly. If Hiashi needed to take Ryuji seriously, he had truly wasted all those years of training.

Even without using chakra, he had decades of combat experience and mastery of the Gentle Fist. It was hard to imagine how he would lose in this confrontation!

"Go ahead, make the first move!" Hiashi gestured softly with his fist, waving his hand towards Ryuji.

"I'm being instructed, so of course, you're the one who should attack first," Ryuji replied confidently.

Kakashi began to cough nervously, and anyone with a modicum of insight could see who was the stronger and weaker. But Ryuji kept saying those things, challenging Hiashi in a way that seemed suicidal.

Hinata was worried too. At home, she always faced her father with the utmost respect and care, and even the Hokage had to show courtesy when seeing him. No one talked the way Ryuji was talking now.

Hinata wasn't afraid that Hiashi would kill Ryuji, because if he tried, Hinata would be the first to intervene. What worried her was that Hiashi would teach Ryuji a lesson.

Hinata had been trained by her father since she was a child, and the lessons could be quite harsh. Thinking of those methods, she couldn't help but shiver.

Hiashi was so angry he almost laughed. Originally, he wanted to advise Ryuji, but now he was determined to let Ryuji feel the blows of reality!

"Alright, please, teach me!" Hiashi said through gritted teeth before launching himself directly at Ryuji.

A direct palm strike!

Even without using chakra, that blow was strong enough to shatter rocks. If it were to hit a person, it could cause serious internal injuries.

After launching the palm, Hiashi regretted it.

This confrontation was meant to be a simple evaluation, but if that blow hit Ryuji, it would leave him severely injured, if not dead.

Most importantly!

Ryuji had no intention of dodging it.

Hiashi cursed in his mind and was about to retract his force when Ryuji slowly raised his arm and patted Hiashi's wrist.

"A little to the left," Ryuji murmured.

Hiashi's face flushed. Although he didn't want to admit it, what Ryuji said was true.

If his palm had gone a little to the right, it would have fallen into a person's blind spot, making it difficult to release the blow and slowing down the defense.

And that fraction of a second could be the difference between life and death.

But the Gentle Fist isn't just a palm strike. The Gentle Fist is a set of techniques that, step by step, push the enemy into a desperate situation. Therefore, a single blow is not enough.

Or at least, that's what Hiashi thought.

For a while, Hiashi continued to attack Ryuji. Not only did he increase his strength a little, but he also accelerated considerably.

The only thing that didn't change was the absence of chakra.

"Father, you're serious!" thought Hinata as she watched the scene incredulously.

She hadn't seen her father this seriously in a long time. She vaguely remembered the last time, when she was kidnapped. But after seeing the fight between Ryuji and Hiashi, she remembered her own experience. Even if she had used chakra back then, Hiashi would have only needed one move to defeat her, unlike what was happening with Ryuji.

If anything happened to Ryuji, Hinata would never forgive herself.

"Of course, it's all for my good. I misunderstood Mr. Ryuji. I did," Hinata thought as her face turned red. Her eyes glanced at Ryuji from time to time, silently cheering him on in her heart.

If Hiashi knew his daughter was cheering for his opponent, he would be so angry he would spit blood.

But at that moment, Hiashi had no time to worry about that.

Hiashi's forehead was covered in sweat. It wasn't from excessive exercise, but from the urgency of the situation.

No matter how many blows or palms Hiashi threw, Ryuji solved them easily.

The most frustrating part was that, after each move, Ryuji corrected him.

And worst of all, Ryuji was right about everything he said.

It felt like Ryuji was the one teaching Hiashi, not the other way around.

Hiashi was sure that, after reflecting on this experience, his understanding of the Gentle Fist would reach a new level, perhaps even to the level of a Kage.

"This move is a little to the left," Ryuji murmured.

"This move should go a little higher!" he added calmly.

Hinata Hiashi's face grew increasingly stern as Ryuji continued to correct his movements. With each correction, Hiashi felt more pressured, more aware of his flaws, and more eager to prove his ability.

Kakashi, surprised by the situation, stepped back and looked at Guy with an ironic smile.

"Guy, it seems that Hiashi-sama is losing his patience," Kakashi commented.

"Yeah, it seems he's discovering more and more flaws in his movements," Guy replied.

"But I never thought it would be Ryuji who would put him in this situation," added Kakashi, unable to believe that a young man like Ryuji, who wasn't even considered a genin, was pushing the Hyuga Clan leader to his limit.

Meanwhile, Hiashi was beginning to feel a growing frustration. He knew that if he continued like this, not only would he fail to defeat Ryuji, but he could be humiliated in front of everyone, especially in front of his daughter, Hinata. If that happened, where would his authority as a father and clan leader be?

Ryuji, oblivious to Hiashi's feelings, provoked him with his comments. "Have you forgotten everything I taught you? Why are you looking at me like that? I don't like men!" he commented, leaving Hiashi speechless and the others present in shock.

Hinata, Kakashi, and Guy were silent, taking in the situation. Hiashi, realizing he was losing ground, knew he needed to change his strategy. He couldn't afford to lose this confrontation, not in public, and not in front of Hinata.

"Alright, it seems you've earned the right to see me a little more seriously!" Hiashi said, determined to turn the tables.

Kakashi and the other two couldn't help but cover their faces, anticipating what was to come. They knew Hiashi was already taking this very seriously, but now that he mentioned chakra, the fight was about to intensify.

Hinata, alarmed, cried out worriedly: "Ryuji-kun, be careful! Father is going to use chakra!"

Hiashi frowned, questioning if Hinata was her daughter. How could she so easily betray his intentions? Had he perhaps embraced the wrong baby at birth?

But Hiashi no longer had time to ponder. Determined to win, he concentrated the chakra in his hands, creating a gust of wind that rushed towards Ryuji.

"Well, now you'll see what the Gentle Fist feels like!" exclaimed Hiashi, as he launched himself with everything toward Ryuji.
