[Chapter Size: 2000 Words.]
Third Person POV
London.
...
...
Lily was still crying for hours in her room without knowing what to think about everything that had happened, while Severus's words kept echoing in her mind along with the fact that the potion that had imprisoned her in a state of feelings that shouldn't belong to her had ended.
All of it left her there, unresponsive, lost.
'Severus Snape... your childhood friend, committed suicide.'
She kept hearing that.
She stayed there, her mind blank. She wanted to talk to someone about it, but she had no one left.
She didn't even know how much time had passed in the whirlwind of thoughts without being able to think clearly, when something caught her attention and she immediately went to the window.
Several police cars sped down the street as people looked on in surprise.
Several bodies of people killed by blades had been found in that neighborhood, discovered by the Muggles.
The Ministry was quickly called in, initially not giving it much importance, but as the wizard who had been dispatched woke up and quickly assessed the situation, he alerted the Ministry with the news that six dark wizards had been killed in that area, all with their throats cut.
The Ministry's Aurors soon arrived, taking over the situation and using spells on the Muggles to cover it up, and it didn't stop there as more deaths began appearing throughout the day, all over England.
A series of murders began to happen all across London.
The wizarding world was once again in chaos, as after Voldemort's activities and his rise to power had already placed fear in the entire magical population of Great Britain, it now seemed the second Dark Lord had finally returned, and he was seeking revenge, because in just one day more than 50 wizards were found dead across the country, all of them being wizards connected to Voldemort or families that had Death Eaters.
The next day, the Ministry of Magic was filled with people running everywhere, while the fireplaces blazed with green flames as people entered and exited through the Floo Network.
At the same time, countless meetings were being held with investigators listening to the witnesses about what they had seen while near the places where the bodies were found dead.
"We have nothing yet?!"
The new Minister of Magic, Septimus Fawley (OC), had a furrowed face as he heard this from his agents while they couldn't find anything.
Septimus comes from one of the Sacred 28, the most powerful families in Great Britain, considered the highest nobility, while there were lesser houses, created either by members who married Muggles or even Muggle-born wizards who grew wealthy and gained some political power throughout their lives through their ancestors.
Septimus was not a man who adhered to the pure-blood ideology, but he was clearly quite greedy and saw this position as a way to gain great political power, even to bring down Voldemort under his leadership.
He wanted to show results, but since he had taken office recently, many things had been happening to his displeasure.
First, after the confusion in the Muggle city, their protests continued across the country, demanding answers about what had happened in the city — even the Muggle authorities were having trouble controlling the situation.
Then came the disappearance of a sixth-year half-blood student, who vanished in front of the portrait of the renowned millennial witch.
He wanted to investigate to make a name for himself with the first problem that arose, but no matter how much pressure he applied or how many Aurors he sent, no answer came regarding the boy's whereabouts.
Right after came Voldemort's attacks, claiming that the Dumbledore at Hogwarts was a fake, because he didn't appear in the city when it was attacked — only the Second Dark Lord, along with Hogwarts professors.
This threw the magical population into a panic with the disappearance of the greatest wizard of the century.
Moreover, this was proven by the revenge attacks, with Voldemort carrying them out across the country, even attacking the Second Dark Lord's shop, while the Ministry did nothing due to the threats from the managers of Gringotts bank.
And now... not only had the boy returned, but a wave of murders greater than even those committed by Voldemort had begun again.
He was overwhelmed with problems and now could understand what the previous Minister — called incompetent by the magical community — had felt with each frustrating situation, without being able to do anything.
"We found nothing about who did this, and we also have no news about Severus Snape, the sixth-year student, who was seen going to St. Mungo's after some recognized him. He spoke with Rosaria, the young lady, daughter of that man… and Hogwarts professor. She was taking care of and paying for the medications of the house-elf who was at the potion shop that was attacked."
The Auror continued giving the rest of the report to the Minister, wanting to curse him for not finding anything, until he realized something.
"Wait... Severus Snape came back... but didn't respond to the Ministry's call... And the wave of murders began now that he returned, while Voldemort attacked the potion shop and nothing happened, but now... It can't be..."
His eyes widened in shock.
"I want to know everything about Severus Snape!" he exclaimed to the men in front of him.
"T-the sixth-year student?" the Aurors were confused.
"Yes... I want to know everything about him. Also, summon Rosaria to the Ministry. She needs to answer some questions!" the Minister ordered.
Rosaria was immediately questioned as to why she was helping that house-elf, covering her expenses, but she refused and had enough political power to do so due to who her father was.
But now he needed urgent answers and didn't care about stepping over her name.
"She left after the elf was discharged yesterday..." one of them commented.
"What do you mean discharged? She was dying!" the Minister was stunned to hear that.
"Yes... Her condition changed sometime after Severus Snape was there... we don't know what happened, not even the magical doctors were able to explain it," an Auror said.
"I also want to know exactly what Severus Snape and Rosaria know together," he requested as well, while the Aurors nodded, finding it all a bit strange, but not questioning it — especially since they would ask at Hogwarts.
"You may go now, I want to be alone and think for a bit," the Minister said, placing a hand on his chin — something very clear was right in front of him.
As soon as he was alone, he picked up the day's newspaper, from before the murders, and saw the picture of Severus moving as a gif...
"The Second Dark Lord enters noble houses through portraits... this boy entered a portrait and disappeared for a month. When he returned, the revenge and retaliation of the Second Dark Lord began. It's him. Why didn't I think of this before... even if he's just a 17-year-old boy... somehow, he might be even more dangerous than You-Know-Who."
He murmured darkly, staring at Severus's picture.
He needed to gather all the information possible, but he was certain it was him. He could already imagine the wizarding world trembling upon learning that the one everyone kept insisting was greater than Voldemort was just a Hogwarts student, responsible for murders and massacres since last year.
He should already start thinking of a way to catch him — maybe during the second half of the school year. Luring him back to Hogwarts might be a good idea, since they couldn't find him anywhere, only the bodies he left behind.
He didn't yet have the information he'd requested, but everything pointed to Severus Snape being the Second Dark Lord.
At the same time, somewhere else, someone entered the castle.
"Dark Lord!"
A Death Eater approached as the room filled with other Death Eaters, and the one who had just arrived moved toward one of the empty chairs.
"Sit down... we need to talk about what happened... He's back."
The Dark Lord commented grimly.
"Not only that, my Lord, I'm certain he's my nephew!"
The man was a member of the Prince family — not one of the Sacred 28, but still important. He had concluded it when Severus Snape's return appeared in the newspaper. It was clear that it was him, despite how terrifying it was that just a boy could be the cause of so much chaos.
If he were honest, he'd admit he was afraid — a fear he never thought he'd have of Snape.
He had killed his brother, and soon he would come for him too.
"We've suspected as much ever since we attacked the potion shop... There was no retaliation..."
Voldemort said, touching his metal arm — the one that had been cut by Snape.
If anyone in the room hated him more, it was Voldemort, for that humiliation.
"Snape..."
Among the Death Eaters' tables sat Lucius, swallowing hard.
He could never have imagined that Severus Snape was the one behind countless deaths since the attack in Hogsmeade, or that he had killed his father — and left him alive.
That was why he hadn't been killed like the others who were with him.
Lucius didn't know what to think of the whole situation.
"We must stop him, my Lord..." said Lord Black.
"I'm well aware of that. But as you can see, he's not easy to find. After all, we spent more than a year and a half trying with no success, and only just discovered it because everything points to him being the one who faced me and killed many of you...
Besides, he's strong... We have to find a weakness..."
Voldemort said.
"I've investigated him a little... his father is practically useless to Severus. He wouldn't care if he heard that he had been kidnapped. But there is someone..."
Snape's uncle regained everyone's attention.
"There's a girl named Lily Evans, living in the same neighborhood as Severus... They're childhood friends, and Severus was seen leaving her house. Not even the Ministry has this information... we could use her..."
he said.
"You think you can lure him into a trap?"
Voldemort asked, thoughtful, interested.
He wanted to kill Severus — who had already become a nuisance — before attacking Hogwarts.
First, he needed to deal with Severus once and for all.
"It's a great chance, my Lord. We can try. I'll assemble a group to handle it, and if you permit me, I'd like to request a few Death Eaters."
He spoke, while no one particularly liked hearing that from someone who had only recently joined them and seemed desperate.
"Very well... I'll allow you to try. Take the girl and lure Severus to the location."
Voldemort said at last, while the man nodded.
At the same time, elsewhere, Vujin was having tea while reading the newspapers about Snape, when something caught his attention. He looked to one side, then to the other, furrowing his brow as he looked up.
"It's begun... This is getting far too dangerous. It's time for him to receive the Black Heart... The war is about to start."
Vujin murmured.
At Hogwarts, beneath the castle, where no one could enter, there was a vast area. A giant portrait stood there — shattered — while several giant ants roamed the area, with the queen ant at the center, watching over a cocoon, producing a new ant more powerful than any before.
In Japan, everything seemed normal in Tokyo — until suddenly, the sky began to change, turning red, as a portal started to form, terrifying everyone there, wondering what it was.
And beyond the planet, something was moving toward the solar system like a frozen comet, heading toward Earth, leaving shards of ice in the aether of the universe as it traveled.
And behind it, another comet raced through the cosmos, but this one was golden, and inside it was something colossal, made entirely of a massive being, traveling to kill the monarchs, as others journeyed through different parts of the galaxy.
