The most distinctive aspect of the Death Stalker is corpse absorption. When it absorbs a corpse into its pile, it becomes part of its body, directly restoring some hit points.
The specific amount restored is determined by the size of the corpse. The larger the size, the more hit points are restored (small 10 points, medium 30, large 60, colossal 100, giant 150, super giant 210). The souls of those absorbed corpses are trapped within the Death Stalker's body and cannot be resurrected using resurrection spells unless the corpse is dragged out of its body.
On such a large battlefield, the least scarce resource is corpses.
