I blinked as my senses fully returned. The first thing I noticed was warmth—Daki's warmth. Her soft, curvaceous body was pressed against mine, her arms wrapped tightly around me like she was afraid I'd disappear. Her long hair tickled my skin, and my chest... it felt damp.
Was she… crying?
I frowned slightly, my hand instinctively moving to stroke her back. Daki, the proud, cruel demon, crying? That wasn't something I ever expected. But then again… she had changed.
Maybe this was her version of tears of happiness?
Before I could call out to her, she stiffened. She must have felt my movement because, in an instant, she pulled back and looked at me.
She was breathtaking.
Her pale skin glowed under the dim light of the room, her vibrant green eyes shimmering with raw emotion. Her usual playful smirk was nowhere to be seen. Instead, there was something softer, more vulnerable in her expression.
Then, she smiled.
"I am ready to die by your hand, Alex."
…Huh?
My brain short-circuited for a moment, trying to process what the hell she just said.
"Daki..." My voice came out lower than I intended. "What the fuck are you talking about?"
Her smile didn't waver, but her hands trembled as they held onto me.
"Isn't that why you're primary here?" she asked softly. "To kill me and rescue the women I captured."
"Well, the rescue part is correct but I can't kill you," I said.
"Why? You killed Akaza and Gyokko without any problems." Daki said.
"Daki, I just had sex with you. So obviously I am not cruel enough to kill the woman, who I just made love with. And for your information, I only kill Gyokko; Akaza is still alive, and he is now my subordinate." I said.
Daki blinked, clearly thrown off by my words. Her lips parted slightly, and for a moment, I could see the war raging behind her emerald eyes—confusion, disbelief, and something else she wasn't ready to name yet.
"You… you didn't kill him?" She asked hesitantly, her voice uncertain.
I smirked. "Nope. Akaza's still kicking. Well, more like kneeling. He swore loyalty to me."
Daki stared at me as if I had just told her the sun was blue. "But… why?"
I leaned back slightly, resting my hands behind my head. "Because Akaza's a fighter, not a mindless killer. He follows a code. And, believe it or not, he actually respects strength. So when I beat the shit out of him, he decided serving me was better than dying like a fool."
Daki remained silent, processing my words. Her grip on my robe tightened. "So… if I had fought you to the end, you would have killed me?"
I met her gaze without hesitation. "Yeah."
Her breath hitched.
"But you didn't," I added.
Silence stretched between us before I sighed and stood up. "Anyway, I should be going."
"Wait!" Daki blurted out, sitting up straighter. She hesitated, then asked in a softer voice, "Before you go… can you answer something for me?"
I glanced at her. "What?"
Her fingers clenched into the sheets beneath her as she struggled to get the words out. "What am I to you? A slave? A subordinate? Or just… a fool?"
I stepped closer, tilting her chin up with my fingers.
"None of that," I said smoothly. "You are my lover."
Daki's eyes widened, a faint blush creeping up her cheeks. Before she could react, I leaned in, my lips grazing her neck. Then, without warning, I sank my fangs into her soft flesh.
A sharp gasp escaped her lips, her body tensing beneath me. I drank just enough to taste her—rich, intoxicating, uniquely hers—before pulling back.
Daki shuddered, her breath uneven. "W-What was that?"
I licked my lips, smirking. "A mark of proof. I only drink blood from those I like."
She swallowed hard, looking dazed. "Y-You… I…!"
I chuckled at her flustered expression, then my face turned serious. "As of this moment, you're banned from harming humans."
Daki stiffened. "What?"
"You heard me." I crossed my arms. "If you really want to be with me, then you follow my rules. No harming humans."
Daki bit her lip, visibly torn. "But… Muzanette-sama—"
"If Muzanette wants to conquer the sun and become even more powerful, she should also stop harming humans," I cut in. "If he do that, I will give her that power."
She froze. "You… know?"
I smirked. "Of course, I know. You can pass that message to her."
Daki's breath came out shaky. "And if she refuses?"
I shrugged. "Then she's wasting an opportunity. I don't care if she listens or not, but you? You're mine now. And my woman doesn't need to kill humans to be strong."
Daki was silent for a long moment before she finally nodded. "...Alright."
Satisfied, I turned to leave. But just as I was about to step away, I paused, as if I had just remembered something.
"Oh, right," I said, looking over my shoulder. "Tell Muzanette this too—"
Daki blinked. "What?"
I smiled, a slow, dangerous grin.
"I'm going to kill Doma and Hantengu."
Her eyes widened in shock. "You—!"
"Pass that message along." I smirked before vanishing.
