Chapter 6 - CHAPTER FIVE: I HAVE IT IN ME.

CAMADA'S POINT OF VIEW.

There are three main establishments in the country of Pandora;

The Government,

The Mage Guild,

The Reverred,

Collectively, these establishments are known as The SYSTEM.

And although they all have different values, different customs and different approaches to situations,

They are in fact very interwoven.

And that's why the most powerful mage doubles as the King of the country.

There is a hierachy in each of these establishments;

The Government, has the King, his Prime Minister and the five main ministers, all very powerful and important.

The Mage Guild is presided by the Head Upper Mage, who is assisted by the Upper mage, Second upper mage and the Third upper mage.

The Reverred establishment, has The Most Reverred Hostess, Most Reverred 2 and rank reverreds below them,

The Reverred and the Mage Guild are both very similar.

However, the Reverred consists of virgin females only, whereas the mages have no specific gender or chastity requirements.

Without the System, Pandora and the rest of the World would have been destroyed Tri-Century ago, when The 'Occurence' which first introduced the Beasts to our world happened.

The System protects we normal folk from Magical Monstrosities, automatically becoming Bridges between humanity and monsters.

They are noble individuals who lay down their lives to secure the people.

I decided to join the Reverred not to save lives or protect people.

I simply wanted to become influential.

But now as I watch Taki bravely tackle the beast physically...

I almost begin to see how shallow risking my life for a cause as mine seems.

She punches and kicks out at the creature that is about three times her size.

-I wouldn't even want to touch that thing-

I would probably run around the Cage pleading to be let out.

-It's almost like she's been training for this-

I begin to understand something;

Taki IS serious,

She IS significant.

And she DOES have it in her.

Contrary to my earlier opinion.

A sense of inferiority steadily douses my consciousness.

-Can I possibly even survive this?-

When I've finally gathered the gall to look at the Creature subjectively.

-Vague bits of a certain idea seep into my brain-

It seems strangely conscious of it's eyes; -if those are it's eyes-

As the idea becomes concrete.

-I'm going to actively root out for Taki because I want to believe I have it in me-

I turn around frantically searching for Rev Waer.

I spot her at a corner of the hall, yawning and quietly observing.

I quickly make my way through the crowd to her.

I ignore the disgusted looks I'm getting.

-of course they haven't forgotten the vomit incidence-

Rev Waer watches me as I step up towards her.

"Have you decided you can't handle this? And so you want to leave?"

She asks quietly even before I've reached her.

-I wish I could but I can't-

"Would it be possible to team up?"

I get straight to the point.

She regards me quietly first.

Then she yawns and shrugs;

"I guess there's no problem, as long as you can handle your own beast as well, Kesha open up the Cage for this lady"

My heart beats increase violently as I find myself stepping into the Cage.

Both Taki and the Creature turn their attention to me.

Taki smiles,

"Here to save my ass?" she asks good-naturedly,

I gulp hard as I hear the door of the Cage slam behind me.

The beast turns its attention to me and slowly begins to move towards me.

-I instantly panic-

I fwip out the Magic Stone I earlier exchanged the dagger for and point it towards the Monstrosity.

The thing is undeterred.

"OH NO"

Taki yells in doom.

"Wh...what's wrong?" I stutter, as I move backwards,

"Obviously that Magic Stone doesn't do anything to affect the Creature and I know because I tried it out too"

-OH NO-

-I instinctively begin to run-

The beast is extremely fast, and we circle the Cage a couple of times.

-Is that laughter I'm hearing?; Is it comedy to watch a person suffer?-

Tears begin to stream down as Taki somehow joins in the running.

The situation is hopeless,

-I should have just left when I could have-

Darkness and hopelessness creeps upon me... I look out the Cage, my eyes begging for saving ,and just then...

I catch sight of Rev Netyisha;

-Fire?-

My brain works quickly, as I increase my running pace;

"Taki…give me your stone!" I yell.

Taki is utterly confused but she throws the rock at me deftly, Luckily I am able to catch it,

"Help me divert the beast" I instruct,

Taki looks at me like I've run mad , but sensing the confidence in my eyes, she sighs heavily;

"I'm rooting for whatever plan you've got Camada"

She smiles and begins to run towards the beast and tease it, sure enough the creature turns to face her squarely.

However, Taki's not as fast as me, it's a brown tentacled creature that capitalizes on its tentacles to move even faster,

I've got to be quick,

-I estimate two minutes till it gets to her-

I crouch on the floor and rub the stones together,

"Camada!" Taki screams as the beast quickly closes up the gap between her and it,

"Come on, come on" I mumble to the rocks as I rub harder.

Finally!,

-the rocks spark in friction-

"Okay, draw it to me!" I scream back,

She gets out of the way, leaving the beast slithering towards me, it bounds up to me,

I stand my ground while still rubbing the rocks together,

There are gasps from the others as the beast closes in;

I launch the flaming rocks at the beasts eyes as accurately as I possibly can, and jump away,

The creature shrieks as the flames lick up its fragile eyes.

Taki lands it a sealing leg chop.

It soon succumbs,by falling down;

-Dead-,

I sit on the floor panting,

- I am exhausted-

-Applause-,

Steady claps from everyone in the hall;

-The same ones who were jeering at me for puking-

-Is this how it feels to achieve?-

Rev Waer just spoils it by saying sheepishly;

"Don't forget you've got to fight your beast as well"

She motions sleepily to another cage with a fresh monster yelping in anticipation,

I sigh heavily,

-Right, my beast-

Taki gives me a hand, with a broad smile,

"We'll face it…together"
