Chapter 447: Finally Meeting the Will of Light's Origin
"More or less."
The God of Destruction nodded and said sharply, "Otherwise, tell me—who else in this universe could act in such a way that even we cannot find the whereabouts of those two?"
"In that case, what do you think the reason is for the Will of the Universe's Origin to do this?"
Having clarified whose work this was, the Evil God King was no longer so anxious. Resting his hands against his head, he asked in a calm tone.
"Could it be related to the Will of Darkness's Origin?"
Everyone fell silent, and then the same possibility arose in their minds.
In the entire universe, only the Will of Darkness's Origin could truly threaten the Will of the Universe's Origin. After all, both belonged to the category of origin wills. If the Will of Darkness's Origin devoured enough living beings and laws, it would not be long before it launched a final assault against the Will of the Universe's Origin.
"But the problem is, what do the Will of the Universe's Origin and the Will of Darkness's Origin have to do with the Silver Dragon King and the God King of Thunder?"
The Goddess of Kindness was the first to react, raising a crucial question. "If the Will of the Universe's Origin requires strong beings to help resolve the Will of Darkness's Origin, then wouldn't choosing us God Kings, who have existed for countless years, be far more suitable?"
"This…"
Hearing her words, the other four fell silent, unsure how to respond.
Indeed, if this matter was related to strength, then even choosing the Goddess of Life and the Goddess of Kindness would be more fitting than selecting the Silver Dragon King and the God King of Thunder. But if it was not about strength, then what was it about? It could not be that the Will of the Universe's Origin simply found these two pleasing to the eye and insisted they were the ones to act.
That explanation seemed highly unreasonable.
Meanwhile, within the mountain of the unknown world.
Kong and Gu Yuena stood before the space cave that had appeared below, both falling silent.
"Tell me, do you think this is reliable?" Gu Yuena was the first to react, uncertain as she asked.
After all this time searching for the Will of Light's Origin, could it really be summoned just by calling out?
To be honest, was this not far too careless?
"It should be… maybe… reliable?"
Kong was equally uncertain, for it all seemed far too absurd.
Neither of them had imagined in their wildest dreams that the appearance of the Will of Light's Origin would be so unique.
"So, do we go in?" Gu Yuena blinked her noble violet eyes as she asked.
"What do you think?" Kong did not answer, instead throwing the question back at her.
"I don't know. You decide. If you say we go in, then we'll go in." Gu Yuena shook her head, unwilling to take responsibility.
Clearly, neither of them wanted to shoulder the blame. If something went wrong, the other could always push the fault away.
"Let's go. We've come this far already."
Seeing the Silver Dragon beside him shirking responsibility, Kong rolled his eyes in exasperation. He then gestured with his hand, indicating for her to lower her head slightly.
Gu Yuena did not refuse or act pretentious. Allowing Kong to stand atop her head, she carefully advanced toward the spatial entrance ahead.
This was a barrier created by the Will of Light's Origin, one of absolute concealment. Without its opening, even if they hollowed out the entire mountain, the result would have been nothing but failure.
Fortunately, Gu Yuena had shouted once—and had truly managed to stir the Will of Light's Origin. Otherwise, Kong would have been forced to use his last chance here.
"No danger?"
As they ventured deeper, Gu Yuena and Kong found the place was not what they had expected.
They had thought the Will of Light's Origin wanted to lure them in and annihilate them in one sweep.
"Have we judged a gentleman's heart with petty suspicion?"
Both of them were dumbfounded by the situation, clearly finding it hard to believe.
They walked all the way to the end of the space, and when they saw the vast empty hall ahead, they could not help but widen their eyes.
Before them appeared a mass of incomparably dense and dazzling light energy, its overwhelming pressure so intense that even Gu Yuena felt unbearably heavy and oppressed.
"Forgive me."
At that moment, a melodious voice rang out. Instantly, the oppressive force bearing down on Gu Yuena vanished.
"May I ask, what business brings the two of you here to seek me?" The Will of Light's Origin spoke, its tone gentle and pleasing to the ear.
"How is it that you are here?" Kong did not immediately reveal his purpose but instead asked curiously.
"I have been here for many years."
The Will of Light's Origin replied softly, "As for why I remain here, it is for the sake of all beings in the universe."
"What do you mean?"
Sensing there was more to the matter, Kong and Gu Yuena both pricked up their ears to listen.
"I have an agreement with the Will of Darkness's Origin. As long as I remain here and am not discovered by the Will of the Universe's Origin, then it will abandon its attempt to devour all living beings in the universe."
The Will of Light's Origin spoke calmly. "I and it, as among the foremost of the three thousand origin forces, wield terrifying power. Should the balance of either side be broken, not only would it deal a devastating blow to the other, but for the entire universe, it would mean approaching the end of eternity itself."
At this, the two finally understood.
The Will of Darkness's Origin, as the source of all darkness, must devour in order to survive. Such actions naturally provoked the wariness and rejection of the Will of the Universe's Origin.
To avoid being erased, the Will of Darkness's Origin could only cooperate with the Will of Light's Origin.
As long as the Will of Light's Origin was not found and restrained by the Will of the Universe's Origin, then to completely annihilate the Will of Darkness's Origin, the Will of the Universe's Origin would have to prepare to perish together with it. For once the universe lost darkness, its destruction would not be far off.
As the counterbalance to darkness, no matter how powerful darkness was, light would always stand equal.
Thus, the Will of the Universe's Origin could rely on the abilities of the Will of Darkness's Origin, along with those of Time and Space, to send the two of them into the past world to seek the Will of Light's Origin.
It could also use the unique abilities of the Will of Light's Origin to both destroy and recreate the Will of Darkness's Origin.
As long as the cycles of destruction and creation were fast enough, for the entire universe, there would be no impact at all.
"You two… you should not belong to this world, nor even to this era, correct?"
After giving this brief explanation, the Will of Light's Origin spoke again, clearly having also guessed the true identities of the two standing before it.
