Chen HaoYu and Zhao Congming had to walk a very long path before they saw the giant wooden gate.
Along the way, Chen HaoYu got to know that this place is a world seed owned by the Zhao family and had used it as their base for a long period of time.
"Huff! Huff! This is why I don't like going back here..." Zhao Congming panted when they've reached the gate.
Chen HaoYu also panted and asked, "You guys don't have some kind of transportation vehicle here?"
"We have but my old man wouldn't let me ride, I have to pay if I want to ride!"
Chen HaoYu looked at Zhao Congming with pity, thinking how hard it is for Zhao Congming to not even be able to use a simple vehicle just to go around this place.
"Everything I want to use, as long as it's not mine. I have to pay! Zhao Congming gritted his teeth when he remembered that even as a kid, he had to rely on his allowance to use the family properties!
"Then is your house far from here?" Chen HaoYu asked if they still have to walk very long before reaching his house.
"Luckily, it's not that far. Just a few district from here!"
Then they continued to walk as Zhao Congming explained about this place.
This world seed which had been passed down from generation to generation was something their ancestor found in a cave full of books and scrolls. From the looks of the cave, a scholar had lived there and also used this world.
Because when their ancestor opened this world seed, they've found many books enough to build a castle.
At that time their ancestor was just a young array master and array masters were not even a profession at that era. In the eyes of the people of that time, people who could do array formations were either cultists who are summoning the devil or people who wanted to summon otherworldly beasts to wreak havoc. All in all array masters were feared and oppressed by the people. So people who does array formations at that era could only hide their professions and continue to study it in secret.
Array Masters and Summoners have a thing in common which is the arrays, that's why there is also no summoners in the past era.
So when his ancestor found this place that is full of books about arrays, summoning, artifacts, and other knowledges. This became the secret land of his ancestor and this was also the mark of the new beginnings for artificers, summoners, array masters, marksmen, alchemists, and healers.
"When my ancestor found this place, it was a barren land! There's no water, trees, grass, or even mountains at all, the lakes and mountains you see here are created using array formations!" Zhao Congming said while walking.
"Wow! To be able to transform a barren land into a place like this is awesome!" Chen HaoYu was amazed by Zhao Congming ancestor for being able to transform a barren land with array formations into having lush forest, lakes, rivers, plain, and mountains.
"That's right! Even the grass and forest you see over there were also created with array formations!" Zhao Congming was proud.
"Everything here was created with the help of array formations!"
"Since this world was created with array formations then it also has to be maintained right? From what I've read in some books, array formations needed to be maintained."
"True... Array formations needed to be maintained but my ancestor was able to modify the core of this world, the world seed, to be a habitable and self sufficient world. In fact, my ancestor was able to engraved a universal chaos energy gathering array into the seed and make the seed thrive to create a world just like ours. Well I'm not so sure about the universal chaos energy gathering array since it's been so long and no one has been able to reach the ancestor's level to prove the array, not even my father or the elders at home can."
"Chaos energy? Are there arrays that can function by itself?" Chen HaoYu asked.
"Definitely! Just like the energy gathering array. It function on its own because arrays needed magic energy to function so as long as there are sufficient magic energy, it can work forever."
Zhao Congming took out 2 bottle of water and handed one to Chen HaoYu before continuing, "But just because they can work as long as they have sufficient energy, it does not mean that it won't wear down. Unless they're ancient array formations and arrays that rely on chaos energy, any kind of array will weathered due to time."
Taking the water and drinking, Chen HaoYu asked, "Chaos energy? I thought that most people don't believe in it anymore? Since there are no evidence to prove the chaos energy."
"Well there are no evidence of chaos energy but just because there's no evidence, doesn't mean that it does not exist. Our family believe that chaos energy exist because our ancestor was able to incorporate chaos energy into an array formation and our evidence? It's this world!" Zhao Congming spread out his hands.
Zhao Congming continued, "It is said that ordinary world seeds wouldn't be able to live by itself if it was abandoned because ordinary world seed could not take magic energy from outside on its own even though it could create it's own magic energy. Well not exactly create, more like filtering the magic energy outside and bringing pure magic energy inside. That's why world seed are sought after by cultivators. Only chaos world seed is different."
"How is it different?"
"Chaos world seed did not need magic energy from outside, it could create its own chaos energy and other magic energies. Chaos world seed can sustain itself to even create it's very own universe as long as time is given."
"Then since your ancestor was able to engraved an array into this ordinary world seed then does that mean this world is kind of the same as chaos world seed?" Chen HaoYu asked.
"Nope! My ancestor was only able to engraved the universal chaos energy gathering array into the seed. It's just like energy gathering array but a more advanced one so example if our world magic energy was depleted or destroyed then the world in the ordinary world seed will also be destroyed or lost its function unlike a chaos world seed where even if the world got destroyed, we can migrate to it and live there."
"Ohh ok! Then are there any difference in world seeds? Because you said that when your ancestor found this world, it was a barren land so I'm thinking if other world seed are also the same?" Chen HaoYu thought that there should be some difference with different world seeds.
"Hmm yeah there are but I don't know why this world was a barren land when my ancestor found it... Actually, world seeds supposed to have forest, seas, and mountains but I'm not sure if the world seeds I've seen were in their original state or have been renovated so I can't tell you much about world seeds. Anyway, we've arrived!"
In front of them stood another gate with two maids standing seemingly informed that they'll be arriving.
"Why is there another gate?" Chen HaoYu asked when he saw the gate.
"Ahaha! You don't have to worry, we're not going to walk another long path! This is already my house just behind the gate!" Zhao Congming pointed above the gate.
Entering the gate, a mansion stood in place. Flowers and fountains make up both side of the walkway, some gardeners were taking care of the garden and greeted them when they walked by.
As they get near the mansion, a pair of mahogany door with intricate golden carvings was opened from the inside.
When Chen HaoYu entered the mansion, he felt like he entered another world! Zhao Congming explained that each of the mansion's room including this living room has a very own space expansion array.
"You said we don't have to walk right..." Chen HaoYu felt like his legs were going to break just from looking at the floor that stretches out.
"Hahaha! No need to worry! Everything here is mine! So we can ride a vehicle to go wherever!" Taking of his outer robe and handing it to the maid beside, he continued, "Except for me and you, anyone who wanted to use my things without my permission have to pay! Not even my old man is exempt from this, and I've even have a restrictions for flying so he'll have to walk! Walk and make him feel my suffering!"
Looking sideways at Zhao Congming, Chen HaoYu said, "Your really are not exempting your family from paying too huh."
"Of course! You don't know how hard it is when I was a kid who can only rely on my allowance to use a vehicle to go! When I pretend to be cute, all I got was a praise and no money! Ugh! Let's go, I don't want to remember those things!"
