Luella's eyes narrowed as she lunged forward, her axe gleaming with mana as she swung for my neck. The crowd gasped at the sheer speed of her strike—

—but I was faster.

I slipped past the arc of her blade, weaving through the air like water slipping between cracks. Her swing missed by inches, leaving her wide open. 

'There.'

My dagger, cloaked in my own mana, flashed in the sunlight. I aimed low, striking at her Achilles tendon.

"Argh—fuck!" Luella howled as steel bit into her flesh. She staggered back, clutching her leg, her footing faltering.

I didn't let up.

Slash!

Slash!

Slash!

Each strike landed with merciless precision, always carving into the same spot, breaking her defenses one cut at a time. I moved like a shadow, her every desperate counter met with nothing but air.

The once-boastful axe wielder now dripped sweat, her breathing ragged. With a trembling hand, she let her axe slip from her grip, clattering loudly against the arena floor.
