"Hey, look—doesn't that look like Tang Hao?"
Among the five who stopped Ye Feng, one of them pointed at the sky with surprise etched on his face.
"It is Tang Hao!"
As soon as they recognized the person being flown like a kite was indeed Tang Hao, the five disciples of the Clear Sky Clan stepped forward, no longer hiding. Four to five spirit rings appeared around them, glowing with vibrant light.
"Release Tang Hao!" ordered a Spirit King with strength above Rank 50.
"How noisy."
Bibi Dong glanced at them with faint sympathy. "If you don't use some real strength, they're not leaving the village anytime soon."
"Alright then, time to get serious."
Ye Feng smiled calmly and waved his hand.
Ten orbs of light—each one glowing with a different color—materialized in front of him. With a flick of his finger, the orbs shot into the sky. As they rose, the orbs compressed rapidly. By the time they reached the highest point in the sky, the energy inside them had reached critical mass.
Boom!
They exploded like dazzling fireworks.
A shockwave erupted, transforming into a powerful gale that swept through the area. The wind howled like a hurricane, ripping apart old rural structures and flattening anything unsteady.
Even Spirit Masters were thrown off their feet. Those below Rank 30 were sent crashing to the ground, while those above barely held their footing.
"W-What in the world...?"
The five Clear Sky Clan disciples were stunned.
"Leave! Now!" Bibi Dong barked. Her voice brought them back to reality.
This was just the result of Ye Feng's casual move. It was terrifying to imagine the destruction he could unleash if he used his martial spirit.
Four of the five spirit masters didn't hesitate—they turned and fled without a word. Only the Spirit King remained behind.
"Why haven't you left yet?" Bibi Dong asked coldly. "You've only got one stick of incense left."
"If I die, I die. I was born a member of the Clear Sky Clan, and I'll die as one. As long as I live, you'll never set foot in this village!"
With that, the Spirit King roared, "Third Spirit Skill—Piercing Spear!"
He lunged forward, spear in hand, unleashing his third skill.
Bang!
But when he reached five meters in front of Ye Feng, an invisible force struck him like a wall, sending him flying back to where he started.
"Fourth Spirit Skill—Triple Spear Shadow!"
Unfazed, he used his next skill. His spear split into three, and each spear streaked toward Ye Feng.
Bang!
Once again, five meters away, the spears stopped as if they had slammed into an invisible wall. Not only were they blocked—they were sent flying back with terrifying speed.
"Urgh!"
The Spirit King twisted in the air, barely avoiding the spears that had nearly pierced him. A fraction of a second slower, and he would have been skewered by his own attack.
"Fifth Spirit Skill—Sky-Splitting Slash!"
Unwilling to give up, the Spirit King raised his weapon and slashed with all his might. A huge blade of energy howled through the air, heading straight for Ye Feng's head.
This time, he didn't wait around. As soon as he released the attack, he moved.
Bang!
As before, the energy blade halted at the invisible barrier five meters out. Not only did it stop—the barrier retaliated. A similar blade of light was generated and launched back at the Spirit King's new position.
"W-What is this?"
He dodged once more, his heart pounding. This power—it was beyond reason.
"It actually reflects attacks... consciously?" he muttered, eyes wide in disbelief.
"The Light of God."
Bibi Dong's voice was quiet, her gaze focused on Ye Feng.
The skill he used was called Divine Light.
Just like the Light of the Sea God, this technique could reflect any physical or energy-based attack.
The Spirit King stood frozen, his will faltering. He couldn't even touch Ye Feng, much less hurt him.
"Still not leaving?" Bibi Dong reminded. "Time's almost up."
"I said it already: in life, I serve the Clear Sky Clan. In death, I'll be its ghost!" the Spirit King bellowed.
He used his fifth spirit skill again, this time aiming at the kite string that held Tang Hao aloft, hoping to free him.
Bang!
The blade of light struck the string—but it didn't leave a mark.
That was no ordinary string. It was a hair-thin energy thread, forged from the Power of Creation itself. Not even a Spirit Douluo could sever it.
"Go!" Tang Hao shouted from above.
"I owe everything to the Clear Sky Clan! I'll never turn my back on it!" the Spirit King roared back.
Meanwhile, many villagers had begun packing their belongings and evacuating, unwilling to risk their lives. But two or three dozen new spirit masters had arrived—those who had heard the news and wanted to die defending the clan, just like the Spirit King.
They all attacked Ye Feng with their spirit skills.
But just like before, every attack was neutralized—and reflected. Within five meters of Ye Feng, no technique could touch him.
Ye Feng didn't move a muscle. Yet one by one, the attackers were wounded by their own rebounded strikes.
"Time's up," Ye Feng said softly, raising a single finger.
It was like a judge passing sentence.
"If you want death so badly... I'll grant it."
His finger dropped.
Above the heads of the Clear Sky Clan defenders, the air shimmered. Blades of energy rippled into existence—like divine swords called from the heavens.
In the blink of an eye, they fell.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
The twenty or thirty spirit masters—ranging from Spirit Masters to Spirit Kings—were all slain instantly.
Ye Feng turned to look at Bibi Dong.
"What are you looking at me for?" she huffed, rolling her eyes at him. "I did ask you to spare them, but I'm not a fool. These people were loyal to the Clear Sky Clan to a fault. Keeping them alive would have brought us nothing but trouble. Besides, you gave them a chance—they just didn't take it."
Ye Feng smiled, then gently reached out and held her hand.
"This is the Dong'er I like—compassionate, but never soft-hearted."
