Hearing Mother's words caused the masked man to close his eyes. Rogue's grip gets tightened on the masked man's body, but the masked man does not resist at all. It looked like he had given up the will to fight back. His mind went blank. All he had in his mind was Hiroshi's Mother and Hiroshi's crying voices echoing in his mind repeatedly.
His hand started to shake with fury. His heart started pounding faster than a sprinting horse, and his breathing became rapid and shallow.
"Release him. He has lost." The rogue leader declared with his steady voice.
The rogues listen to their leader's command and release the masked man from their tight grip. Just as the rogues released the masked man, he fell on his knees. The rogues smirked at the masked man's hopeless condition.
The masked man opened his eyes, and in front of him was Hiroshi's mother lying on the ground, struggling to take a single breath. Then his gaze shifted towards his sword lying on the ground.
There was something different about the masked man's sword. The sword was in a cover, but an ethereal glow was released from the cover as if the sword was responding to the masked man's gaze.
The mage girl realised the intention of the masked man and what would happen now. She tried to stop the masked man.
"KAIII NOOO!" Her voice pierced through the air, reaching Kai, the masked man's ears.
Despite the mage girl's intervention, the masked man Kai's decision was already made.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAHH...!!!!!!" He roars like a beast. His cry was so loud and fearsome that it made the entire village tremble.
Just as Kai roared, his sword flew into the air by itself and made its way towards Kai. The sword floated before Kai. It was like the sword was urging Kai to pull it out of its cover and use it to end the rogue's life.
Kai slowly raises his left hand and grabs the hilt of his sword while his eyes are locked on Hiroshi's mother. The moment Kai held the sword's hilt, its cover flew out with an insane speed that broke through a villager's house wall. It was like the sword itself had wanted to break free.
The sword reveals itself to the rogues and the villagers. It was engraved with some ancient symbols on its front and back. These symbols were glowing in an ethereal blue colour as if the sword itself had a life.
"Foossshhh.....!!!"
Kai, the masked man, used his unnatural speed and vanished into the air, and a moment later, Kai appeared in the same spot. It was like Kai had just turned invisible for a flicker of a second and become visible again.
"Drip.... Drip.....!!!"
Kai's sword, which was previously clearer than the water itself, is now covered in crimson blood dripping into the ground.
"Bammm.... Baammmmm.....!!!!"
One by one, every single rogue fell on the ground, their head also rolled over from their headless body. Kai had beheaded every single rogue in the village in an instant.
The mocking laughter of the rogues was silenced by Kai. Kai loses his grip on the sword, making it fall to the ground.
"RRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH....!!!!!!!" He roars again, but this time, Kai's voice is louder and deadlier than ever it causing both barriers to shatter like thin glass.
The moment the barrier shattered, Rin and the mage girl rushed toward Kai. While Hiroshi rushes to his mom. The Mage girl hugged Kai from behind and tried to comfort him and calm his anger down.
"Th.... They..... Will Pay..... No.... One Will S.... Survive....." Kai spoke while gritting his teeth. His voice was filled with anger and rage. Kai's fists were clenched so hard that even air could not pass through them.
The Mage girl confronts Kai. She holds Kai's hand as she speaks while trying to open his fist. "Kai, focus.... This isn't you.... Control yourself....."
Hearing the mage girl's voice caused Kai to calm down. He took several long breaths while closing his eyes. After calming himself, Kai opened his eyes and gazed at Hiroshi, who was sitting next to his mother.
"MOM, wake up." Hiroshi cried out, his voice filled with desperation as he tried to rouse his mother.
"Please, move away from her." Rin gently but urgently told Hiroshi to stay back from his mother.
Rin gently put her hand on Hiroshi's mother's throat and gently pressed it. As she cast her spell. "Fasate Fevesal!"
As soon as she spoke, Hiroshi's mother's blood emerged from the ground and started to began to reverse its flow, retracing its path to Hiroshi's mother's throat. In a miraculous display of magic, her wound was closed, and her cut was healed, leaving no sign of injury.
A moment after that, Hiroshi's mother took a single breath. Her single breath was enough to extinguish all the tension in the atmosphere. Kai and Hiroshi took a deep breath of relief.
"She might have some headache for a few days, but she will be ok," Rin reassured Hiroshi about his mother.
Two villagers came; they gently lifted Hiroshi's mother and carried her to her house. Kai's gaze was still locked on Hiroshi's mother leaving.
Rin approached Kai cautiously, "Brother, are you decent?" Her gentle voice attracted Kai's attention towards her.
"You are not going to attack me, are you? And if you are, you must know that I am not just a healer an excellent fighter too. I'll knock you out before you move..." Rin spoke while raising her hands and taking a fighting stance. Rin spoke to Kai in her playful tone, trying to calm him down further and remove the thought of Hiroshi's mother from his mind.
Kai smirks as he hears his sister's voice and sees her improper fighting stance.
