The first dinner duty fell to Big Treasure.
During the break, Big Treasure's deskmate leaned over. "Boss, what are you looking at?"
Students weren't allowed to bring cellphones to school, but the kids would still sneak them in, and the teachers generally turned a blind eye. As long as it wasn't excessive and didn't disrupt their studies, playing on their phones in class wasn't a big deal. So, most students in the class brought their phones to listen to music or check the news during breaks.
As the top student in the class, Big Treasure was paired with the one who had the poorest grades. With the final exams not far off, a plan was put in motion: a peer-mentoring program where students with good grades would tutor those with poor ones.
"I'm looking at recipes."
"Recipes? What for? Are you going to cook, or are you trying to figure out what takeout to order?"
"I'm cooking. It's my turn tonight, so I'm thinking about what to make."
