After Klein Moretti utilized Time Stop, making the interior of the Black Emperor's mausoleum visibly freeze, the Shadow did not sink into the vortex of Time. As though situated in another world built with completely different fundamental Rules, the Shadow continued moving forward in between the contradictory of two River of Fates —one filled with raging torrents and one that was almost completely still. This only made it appear to slow down, in no way affected by the illusory bell.
"They" are seemingly able to penetrate through layers of obstructions and detect others.[38]
After once again disrupting the connection between Queen Mystic and her Sealed Artifact, Distorting the corresponding Order, the black figure raised its head and looked at the top of the mausoleum. It seemed to be studying Sefirah Castle and Klein through layers of space and fog.
Klein sensed that the Shadow had a certain understanding of where "He" was and felt that it was Distorting something.
Distortion: "They" hold the authority of Distortion.[39]
The authority of Distortion has been shown to be used in the following ways:
"They" can Distort the extension direction of Spirit Body Threads, making those who can see it unable to detect the target in advance.[40]
"They" are able to disrupt Teleportation by Distorting the destination of the Teleportation, turning everything extremely chaotic.[38]
"They" can Distort the spatial position between a used Substitute, swapping the positions of the Substitute and the main body.[40]
Using this on a Fool Symbol2 Fool Pathway Beyonder will result in them forcibly appearing in the desired position once they exit the Historical Void.
The Rules and process to use Sealed Artifacts can be disrupted and Distorted, stopping the user from activating their power.[38]
Typically speaking, as long as Bernadette injected her Spirituality into it and gave the corresponding thoughts, the Sealed Artifacts on her would react in the correct manner, creating different effects. But now, the silent process and Rules had been disrupted and Distorted. No amount of thoughts that Bernadette willed were able to stir the Sealed Artifacts. It felt like she was speaking to the air.
"They" are able to Distort the True Vision of onlookers, causing them to see scene of the past from one or two seconds ago.[38]
"They" can Distort the Rules of Concealed spaces, making its entrance appear directly before "Them". [38]
When "They" advance to become a Black Emperor or start "Their" revival process, it will cause various Distortions to manifest in reality.[41]
Spirit World Traversals will be Distorted, causing the user to discover that their intended destination is far away, or that their Wandering has ended abruptly.
High Sequence Error Symbol2 Error Pathway Beyonders will have the connection to "Their" external Worms of Time be Distorted, losing the ability to command "Them".
The rules of the Circle Inhabitant will be Distorted, allowing leaving the area of the Circle Inhabitant without it triggering the Loop.
In different parts of the world:
Some people may find themselves back home despite having just left;
Others might see their bright cathedrals turn dark and silent;
Some might be habitually drinking milk but wouldn't notice they were using their nostrils, suffering no harm;
Long-abandoned compulsory education schools might strangely light up, as if filled with students quietly attending classes.
After fulfilling certain conditions, the Black Emperor will be able to Distort the faith and mystical connections that point to the Great Old Ones.
Roselle forcefully Distorted the faith of the Uncertain Mist's followers to "Himself" using "His" authority, the Black Emperor Symbol2 Black Emperor Pathway's connection with the Uncertain Mist, and the corruption of the Uncertain Mist while relying on the Astral Barrier.[39]
This granted "Him" absolute authority over the Uncertain Mist followers but also deepened "His" connection to the Uncertain Mist.
Roselle Gustav Distorted the relationship between the main body and the external items, briefly making "Himself" an appendage of the Genie. Allowing Amon, as the Error, to use this firm and close connection to severely injure the Uncertain Mist by severely injuring the Genie.[42]
• RESURRECTION: Even if "They" were to be truly annihilated and killed, Death is a part of the most underlying and core part of the Order of reality, thus, the Black Emperor can be resurrected. "They" will still be able to awaken and return from one of the mausoleums "They" made for "Their" apotheosis.
There are three stages in the process of "Their" Resurrection:
The Uniqueness leaves the person possessing it, turning into an abstract concept.
The subjects ruled by the Black Emperor will hear "Their" mighty voice again.
"They" will fuse with the Uniqueness and would reappear in the Astral World.
The Sequence 1 characteristics would be returned to "Their" hands.
Whether the Sequence 1 Beyonder Characteristics come with the corresponding Sequences 9-2 Beyonder Characteristics depends on the state of the Sequence 1 Beyonder Characteristics itself.[43]
"Their" Resurrection is an Order that other True Gods are unable to Distort or prevent. It can be interfered with in the following known scenarios:
The birth of a new Black Emperor.[44]
The intervention of a God formed from the Black Emperor Symbol2 Black Emperor Uniqueness + 2 Black Emperor Sequence 1 + 1 Justiciar Sequence 1.[45]
The birth of The Anarchy.[46]
With the Lord of Mysteries' help, "They" could still Resurrect through the Rules, but "They" would only be able to reclaim two portions of the Prince of Abolition Beyonder characteristics.
Deliberately terminating the Resurrection process "Themselves".[47]
This would leave "Them" as an incomplete Sequence 0. "They" would then live in a special state inside "Their" mausoleum, without the Uniqueness and Beyonder Characteristics.
How long it takes for the retrieval of the Prince of Abolition Beyonder Characteristics and the total duration of the Resurrection still depends on related arrangements.
Unlike Solomon, Roselle's Resurrection was fast since Adam took the initiative to give the characteristics and the Black Emperor Symbol2 Black Emperor Uniqueness to him.[48]
"Their" Resurrection can cleanse the Corruption and madness brought by multiple different pathway Beyonder Characteristics, but can't cleanse the Corruption and madness that's intrinsic to itself. For the latter, it includes the following known scenarios:[49]
Failing the Apotheosis Ritual.
The Corruption and madness brought along by the Mother Goddess of Depravity.
Even if "They" were killed and had all nine mausoleums destroyed, if a certain amount of the Order set up by "Them" remained, it is still possible for "Them" to mysteriously Revive. This appears to be a Loophole against the natural Order of death.
Ancient Gods with the Black Emperor Symbol2 Black Emperor Uniqueness like the Mutated King Kvastir could also Resurrect with this mechanism, provided that "They" had prepared thoroughly.[50]
• DISORDER: A core authority of the Black Emperor. "They" wield the majority of this authority.
"They" are no longer merely a parasite, interpreter, or Distorter of Order; "They" have broken free from Order, plunging the very concepts of Order and Rules themselves into total Disorder.
"They" can cause a person's thoughts to descend into Disorder, making it become active and uncontrollable. This seemed to be a trend that couldn't be changed — one that led to chaos.[51]
