After there talk with henry they decided to think about what they have learned about the killed and actually come up with a plan to defeat or capture him. Ben is doing some mental gymnastics on the new information they have gathered shapeshiting or some form of mind control.
Clearly those are the only possible reasons of henry sister kidnapping he could draw. This also means that the killer is definately an alien of some sort. Now, sadly he doesn't know which species but most likely a Particular type of species that was in part of his original roster of aliens.
Too bad he does not know every species in this universe.
" What should we do now ben?"
"I don't know really"
" What do you mean you don't know?"
"i said I am still figuring things out here can you shut up now!"
Ben is now getting annoyed At being interrupted while he is in deep thoughts thinking about all the evidence and clues that they have gotten so far which is not much by the way. They have no real concrete evidence aside from the fact that this is clearly a work of an alien.
Putting that aside there is also no clue where the alien is actually hiding, or why he is doing what he is doing, or is he going to take over the planet or something like his past nemesis did?
Too many questions too little answered and that is exactly the problem here And now he's getting annoyed by his idiotic friend who is asking way too many questions that he himself having trouble to answer.
"Look The best thing we can do right now is go on our nightly patrol and see the killer for ourself and hopefully catch him if we can"
carl understood what ben is trying to say In fact he is eager to go on petrol with Ben and hopefully find the killer and him behind bars. Of course unlike he does not have any experience with aliens or have any knowledge of them to begin with He just recently came into contact with incredible power like Bens Monotrix.
So, carl Doesn't think that the killer is actually a alien or extraterrestrial life form of some kind but Ben realized that it is for the better that he does know about this stuff in detail for the time being considering that firstly, Ben has no patience to answer all of his questions that he is going to ask later on
Secondly, Its better for him to withhold information unless he has some concrete reason to give their sad information to anybody else. While it's not like that he does not trust him but he still cannot take such risk of him a ordinary kid knowing about aliens and other life forms
Or somehow end up spilling the beans in front of his parents or friends now would they believe him would be a different question but it is better safe than sorry.
"Yeah you are right!"
Carl said with Great enthusiasm in his voice as he is all fired up to catch this criminal and to avenge his friend's sister. Ben just sighed at his friend's enthusiasm He knows carl Still things this is some action adventure which ben can understand why carl would think this way
After all even when ben started his journey he also thought the same with the omnitrix in his Possession. How ever after fighting vilgax and others many of things that happen made him mature much faster than even most adults in some ways.
ben just hoped that his friend would mature a little and stop seeing this as a game... Though to carl's credit he is incredibly brave for wanting to standing up for his friends, family and community a bit reckless and stupid but brave none the less.
"Ok lets not waste anymore time and we should meet up at night"
"yeah okay"
With that both kids went home with carl going to his home and ben going to the hotel he rented tonight both of them are going to petrol togather and hopefully catch this killer.
Few weeks later...
Ok, this so called investigation is officially isn't going any where as after that day when they talked to henry about his missing sister they Immediately started Patrolling the city at night. The first problem they came into was the police as they were also patrolling at night alongside them meaning they have to not only try to find the killer but also avoid the police
It's very simple because if they get caught at the middle of the night then the police would surely question them and in carls Case contact his parents which would get him in trouble for going out in night like this when there is a killer in loose.
So while they manage to avoid the police another problem was the killer for some reason is not active at all!
It's as if the killer just went underground after both him and his friend alongside the police started searching for him. While it is a possibility that the killer is clearly hiding due to the constant patrolling from the police side Ben still finds it a bit odd.
According to the the base of the police station that he stole the killer clearly has a killing pattern of one person per week the very least With vast majority of his targets being children's around his own age.
As Ben is thinking about this carl who is also sitting besides him clearly bummed out by the fact that they couldn't find the killer he then turned to ben and said
"hey ben what are we going to do?! at this rate we would never solve this case!"
Ben looked at carl and said
"Look while i understand why you want to catch this killer we can't be Impatient or else we would never catch him.... And if by any chance the police does catch the killer first then it is just better for us anyways"
"Yeah bu-"
"no buts carl this is not a game it doesn't matter who catches the killer as long as the poeple of this town are safe"
"...Yeah you are right..."
ben just shook his head at his friends behavior now Considering that the police are taking their job incredibly seriously Ben almost thought about leaving this case to them. However, Ben is still a bit skeptical about the killer and his hypothetical ability of telepathy or some sort of illusion or say shifting.
From every report including from what they have heard from Henry this killer is of a human killer and more some sort of supernatural entity from a horror movie. At least that's what it sounds like when people describe criminal.
This is precisely why Ben did not decide to go and leave this entire case to the police considering that if this killer is actually some sort of alien then the police have no actual way to handle this case anymore.
Many aliens have abilities or technology that far surpasses anything humanity has ever produced which puts humans in general at A disadvantage. Which is why hasn't left the town and leave this entire case to the police you just yet After he confirmed that this killer is actually just a harmless person and not a dangerous alien Ben would move on.
While thinking about this he also started wondering What this killer is doing right now if this killer clearly takes a victim per week at least. Then that means for this entire week he has not taken a single life Or maybe that's where Ben is wrong?
Ben then thought about it The killer clearly has not committed any crime in this main town itself however they have not patrol out of this town did they?
While many people live in this town there are also people who live outskirt of this town or simply more isolated areas as well which means they are the perfect target for this killer if the town security is too high due to police patrolling.
Though there is no concrete evidence of this considering that no news of kidnapping or murder has been announced even in the outskirts isolated areas which means this is clearly A questionable hypothetical. However they also have not patrol around those areas which means While the chances may seem low it is not impossible for the killer to plan in long term and target one of those areas.
Just as he was thinking about this Ben then noticed a child just around his and carl sitting all by himself. he didn't know what is wrong with that kid but he just feels... off.
"Hey carl who is this?"
Carl looked towards the kid sitting all by himself all alone carl Immediately noticed who this person was
"Oh that hank! He is a weird kid he doesn't talk to people that much nor does he make friends with anyone he just sits all by himself looking at the distance"
"And did His sibling or friends got kidnapped too Is this why he is so lonely and sad"
Carl shook his head and said
"No he has always been like this"
Now this got his interest for some reason there is more to this hank kid than meets the eyes but he just couldn't place his finger on what that is...

Ok, another chapter complete sorry it took so long i am incredibly busy this past week also my motivation level are all time low i am thinking about writing another story because all of my story are struggling badly honestly.
Maybe i should take a break and focus on writing new concepts of my story and improve my content anyways i would see you guys later.
