Chapter (42):the great escape part 3

In factory.....

Return to Talos.....

Talos who witness the chaos in his domain,he made him anger and don't understand what happened

"These [monkey] they're destroying everything! If this continues, everything will collapse!"

Talos saw that they had already destroyed many rooms as they ran through. Talos felt his brain being squeezed—the factory had become like an ant tunnel. He had sent many Golems, but there were too many gaps. Some gaps were even too narrow for the Golems to pass through, forcing him to destroy and widen them, which took too long and slowed his pursuit.

"What are they even doing? I see no [logic] in their movements. They're just [bugs] without purpose. They're not thinking of [escape]—they're here to [destroy]. Me."

"How [absurd] this [situation] is."

*Ring!*

At the exit door, a large number of Golems stood blocking even the approach. They stood like statues—until suddenly, their eyes glowed, and they charged forward.

...

Back to Emma and Smiley

"So, how long do you plan to keep this up? Or rather, how long will you wait?" Smiley asked.

"Just a little longer..." Emma spoke from behind her mask.

"But do you really think that—"

*BOOM!*

Suddenly, the wall to Smiley's right exploded, and a swarm of Golems rushed in, weapons aimed at them. The moment they saw them, they turned and bolted down another path, running at full speed.

"Oof—damn it, you were right about this. So, do we go with the plan?" Smiley asked.

"No. Not until they've all gathered," Emma replied, running in her fairy boots.

Emma and Smiley sprinted down the corridors as the Golems chased them, firing all kinds of projectiles—nails, burning shrapnel, gear-shaped bullets. Emma dodged most while Smiley covered her.

They entered a gap leading to a specific room filled with ash and smoke. A few Golems stood inside, motionless—until they spotted them and reacted, but sluggishly.

Emma moved right, heading for the door, and they both rushed out. Just two seconds later, a massive swarm of Golems burst through, even destroying some of their own in the process.

"So, what about now?" Smiley asked.

"Not now... Just a little more," Emma said.

The Golems fired a massive cannon shot, but Smiley simply kicked it back at them, causing an explosion that filled the area with smoke. But before even a second passed, the smoke cleared, and a horde of Golems lunged at Smiley, firing sharp gears at him.

"Girl, I feel like I'm in an arcade game now! Hah! So, is it time?" Smiley asked, dodging their attacks while throwing some gears back to disrupt them.

"Not yet..." Emma replied with difficulty.

As she spoke, more Golems appeared ahead, trapping them between two fronts.

"Damn it! Where did they even—⁦ಠಿ_ಠ⁩—come from?! Wasn't this path blocked a second ago?! Are you using cheat codes?! That's not fair!" Smiley shouted.

"NOW!" Emma screamed.

Suddenly, Emma and Smiley bolted in a specific direction down a hallway, the Golems chasing them like a literal tsunami.

"What the—... These idiots! These [mindless fools]! This place has only one exit—they'll all be [annihilated] if they go there!"

As they ran, Smiley and Emma reached a specific door and flung it open. It led to a massive manufacturing room, its walls lined with cracks—and filled with Golems.

Emma and Smiley were now almost completely surrounded, weapons trained on them as they backed against the wall. From the crowd, one Golem stepped forward.

"Well, well. We've finally reached the end of the game. Let me say—it was a fierce one. I didn't know what you were thinking, trying to defeat me. [Information]: I can replace these Golems easily. This was all a waste of [time] and effort you spent trying to survive."

"So, you [glitches]... Any last words before I shut you down?"

"Yeah, one thing," Emma said.

"Oh really what it's? [Being X]?"

"Thank you, Talos," Emma replied.

"Thank you? For [what]?"

"For actually believing this."

[What?]

Emma activated her boots and leaped with force, sticking to the wall at high speed while Smiley ducked behind a massive machine.

"Interesting. I don't know your plan, but it's all pointless."

Talos ordered the Golems to eliminate Emma. They fired, and she ran—racing in a circle along the walls as the Golems shot at her.

"I'll admit it honestly—of all the humans I've met so far, you've been the most adaptable. The fastest.one I meet to [now]"

"Thanks for the praise," Emma said, struggling to survive with every ounce of strength.

"But your time is [over]."

"Your clown friend, is already surrounded by my Golems. He's hiding behind that machine—they can destroy it. But I think it's better to—"

"Oh really? Sorry, but I'm kinda busy trying not to die."

"Your humans still are the same. [Useless]. Just give up."

"Okay, if you want it," Emma replied.

"You're—[what]"

Suddenly, Emma stopped, standing on the wall. Smiley wasn't behind the machine—he had forced his way inside it, preparing something. Talos noticed Emma's actions and realized something strange—something he hadn't noticed before about the masked figure.

He saw—now standing atop the wall—the same wall the Golems had come from. All the walls around the room had been riddled with gunfire. Talos would've considered this dangerous, but he ordered them to attack upward—missing one crucial detail.

The room was full of cracks made by Smiley and Being X while they were escaping. Talos hadn't realized it at first, but through the Golems' eyes, he saw—almost every wall was perforated, crumbling. Though the gaps were small, only big enough for a cat, their sheer number made him realize something horrifying.

"Wait, this is—"

Talos was cut off as Smiley jumped with unnatural force, landing right in front of him and kicking him into a group of Golems. At the same time, the Golems fired at Emma—but it was already too late for Talos.

*BOOOOOOM!*

*WHOOSH!*

The entire room shook as the explosion tore through the wall, creating a massive gap. Dust and debris rained down as the ceiling began collapsing. By the time Talos looked up, Smiley and Emma were already out, leaving the Golems standing there, helpless for a few seconds before destruction rained on them. Even if Talos gave an order now—it was too late.

Only then did Talos realize the truth—they hadn't trapped themselves. No, in reality, they had tricked him into gathering all the Golems in one place, making him think they were cornered while he failed to notice the building was already on the verge of collapse from their chase.

"How...? With this method? My plans...? [Plan]... Plan... I see... [See]... Now I understand everything."

"That Being... [Being X] already knew what I planned. And also knew there was no [logical] way out of here."

"That's why it did all this! This Being X—[it knew] that I knew! [It knew] I'd surround the place with Golems everywhere, so it made this insane decision—turning the factory into a [warzone], destroying everything in its path—just to make me lose focus!"

"Very well... Hahahaha... Why am I laughing? This... isn't funny!!!! Those pathetic [glitches]... And yet, very [marvelous]."

"As they say, [pain is the best teacher]... But no one leaves. No one lives long enough to tell the tale."

He pressed a button on a hidden panel in Talos' secret room—and something emerged, moving at high speed, sparks flying.

...

"Wooohoooo! That was sick!"

"That was insane, girl! How'd you do that? That was amazing!" Smiley cheered.

"Honestly, I was just trying not to die. Felt like every cell in my body was about to burn up," Emma admitted, still shaken.

"Truth is, I was gonna run," Emma said coldly.

"You what?!" Smiley asked, feigning shock.

"If they had a scoped cannon or a sniper rifle, I'd have risked breaking through the wall—even if one of us died in the process."

"Man! That was dark!" Smiley said, surprised.

"It's the truth. I might've gone crazy from the forest, but I'm not suicidal. I know my limits."

"Fine. I don't blame you ,who kidding you was like protagonist!. ," Smiley said and laugh

*Whrreoommm*

"Hmm... What's that sound?" Smiley asked, puzzled.

"It's a school bus. But why would a bus— Oh what the__

Emma and Smiley saw it—a grotesque, misshapen school bus, a fusion of mechanical and human parts, speeding down the hallway, sparks flying as it scraped against the narrow walls.

"Did that bast*rd send a bus?! And of all things, a school bus?!" Emma shouted in fury.

"Guess he was broke if he sent that after us," Smiley joked.

"In the past, I was the one chasing the bus. Now the bus is chasing me. What a twist! hahahaha!" Smiley laughed.

"WOOORRRMMMMM!"

"Smiley, this isn't the time for jokes! Run! RUN!" Emma screamed.

Both sprinted at inhuman speeds—Emma thanks to her fairy boots at full power, Smiley due to his unknown nature. But the bus was faster, closing the gap.

Emma glanced at the exit—so close now. She could see the trees and grass outside. But when she looked back, the bus was just five meters behind, its hood flipping open to reveal metallic teeth fused with flesh and bone. At that sight, she could only say one thing:

"Oh, curse my life!"

*BOOOOOM!*
