Chapter 704 - 703. War of the Titans.

Gotham Harbor.

Godzilla let out an earth-shattering roar, its deafening soundwaves exploding outward, shattering glass across half the city in an instant.

At the same time, in several other cities across the globe, massive monsters began to emerge one after another.

In Star City, the spider-beast Scylla towered into the sky, its six massive, spire-like legs stabbing into the ground, leaving behind gaping, bottomless craters.

In Central City, the ape-god Kong barreled through skyscrapers, leaping and charging through streets. The city was instantly engulfed in chaos and fire, the tremors from each impact toppling buildings like dominoes.

In Metropolis, the three-headed dragon King Ghidorah soared through the skies. Wherever it flew, storms followed—lightning cracked across the skyline, and dark clouds blanketed the once sunlit city, plunging it into a haunting gloom.

"Oh my god…" Kara muttered, mid-flight, as Hourman's voice came urgently through her earpiece.

(Supergirl, Black Adam and the others won't be able to assist you. The Justice Society has to split up and contain the other kaiju. If we let them keep rampaging, the civilian casualties will skyrocket.)

"This has to be the enemy's plan—to scatter our forces," Kara said grimly, brows furrowed.

(I know. But planned or not, we have no choice but to act. That fake Alex has already 'kidnapped' the entire civilian population. As heroes, we have to rise to the challenge!)

Hearing that, Kara knew Hourman had made up his mind. She paused briefly, then gave a firm nod.

"Be careful. I'll deal with Gotham as fast as I can. Wait for me."

(You be careful too. That impostor might still be in Gotham.)

As Hourman's message ended, Kara streaked across the sky like a beam of light, heading straight for Gotham Harbor.

-----------------------------------

Meanwhile, back in Central City, Shazam had already engaged Kong.

Barely dodging a massive punch from the beast, Shazam soared into the sky.

"Whoa, man! I've been watching your movies since I was a kid! Weren't you supposed to be on humanity's side, Kong?"

Before he could finish, a truck came flying at him—smash!—sending him crashing through the air.

Kong, seeing Shazam hovering too far to hit directly, had simply picked up cars and started hurling them like baseballs.

Blocking another vehicle mid-air, Shazam gritted his teeth.

"Okay… now I'm mad."

Seeing that reason was off the table, Shazam went all in. He rocketed forward and slammed a full-powered punch at Kong.

But the ape god didn't flinch. In one swift motion, he backhanded Shazam like a ping pong ball, swatting him out of the air.

Shazam was sent flying like a meteor, crashing through several buildings before slamming into the ground with tremendous force.

Kong, thrilled with his hit, beat his chest wildly, unleashing a triumphant roar into the sky.

But in the very next moment, Kong suddenly realized that the pesky "insect" who'd been annoying him had somehow climbed onto the top of his head.

"You really need a serious lesson in manners."

Shazam gripped the thick fur on Kong's crown tightly. Without waiting for any kind of reaction, he threw his head back and shouted the one word that summoned divine fury: "SHAZAM!!"

CRACK!!

A massive bolt of lightning appeared out of nowhere, instantly transforming into a surge of terrifying energy that blasted straight down onto Kong's forehead.

The destructive thunderstrike struck with tremendous force. With a deafening explosion, Kong's giant body stiffened momentarily—then wobbled and began to collapse backward.

"Ha~!"

Billy couldn't help but laugh triumphantly.

"Guess it's not that hard after all—"

But before he could finish, Kong's rear legs pushed hard against the ground. His falling form suddenly steadied—he hadn't gone down.

With a roar, Kong raised one giant hand and swatted up at the boy on his head.

"Oh crap—"

Seeing the colossal palm blotting out the sky above him, Billy didn't dare take it lightly. He quickly shouted again:

"SHAZAM!!"

Lightning tore down from the heavens, drilling straight through Kong's palm. The beast shrieked in pain, giving Shazam the opening he needed to burst free and escape the grasp of the furious titan.

(Shazam!)

Just then, Hourman's voice came over the comms.

(Defeating him isn't the goal! We can't let the city become a battlefield. You need to lure Kong out to the outskirts. If this keeps up, civilian casualties will skyrocket!)

Hearing that, Shazam snapped out of his battle rush. A chill ran down his spine as he glanced at the destruction below—entire blocks reduced to rubble.

"Got it. I'll figure out a way to draw him out!"

-----------------------------------

Metropolis.

Staring up at the monstrous silhouette cloaked within storm clouds, even Doctor Fate and Hawkman couldn't suppress the creeping dread in their hearts. They could both sense it clearly—the sheer magnitude of energy contained within that creature.

Whoever it was, it wasn't just powerful. It was something else entirely.

Not a foe to be underestimated.

Creatures like King Ghidorah—this terrifying three-headed dragon—were enough to give even the gods headaches back in the ancient days, let alone those who merely served them.

Doctor Fate held his mystic seal and glanced at the Amazon Queen beside him, his voice solemn.

"You know, this reminds me of Typhon, the God of Monsters. Back then, he chased Zeus across the entire world. The rest of the gods had to shapeshift into animals just to escape."

The Amazon Queen looked exasperated. She hadn't even been born when the Olympian gods went to war with monsters.

"Kent, if you've got time for a mythology lecture, maybe use that brain of yours to help us deal with this mess instead!" Hawkman barked, gripping his Nth metal battle-axe. As he looked up at the lightning-shrouded dragon, his entire body trembled.

At that moment, Ghidorah seemed to sense the extraordinary energy radiating from the heroes below. Without hesitation, it flapped its colossal wings—unleashing a torrential downpour of golden lightning like a storm of divine fury.

Doctor Fate immediately summoned the Sigil of Life, forming a radiant shield to cover himself, Hawkman, and the Amazon Queen. But he had underestimated Ghidorah's raw power.

Each of the three dragon heads released a devastating energy blast. The shield shattered almost instantly—without even lasting a full second.

"This won't work. If this keeps up, we're all going to die right here." Hawkman grit his teeth, zigzagging through the storm of bolts.

"Can someone just explain where the hell these monsters even came from?" the Amazon Queen shouted. She had taken a direct hit, and though her Amazonian physiology allowed her to withstand it, it was still almost enough to send her straight to meet Zeus.

Having landed a clean hit, Ghidorah wasn't done. The monster tore through the clouds, revealing its towering form in full—then all three heads dove down at the fleeing heroes.

Realizing they couldn't take that head-on, the trio turned and flew toward the ocean.

The goal now was clear: lead the monster as far away from populated areas as possible.

Sure enough, sensing that the powerful beings below were retreating, Ghidorah abandoned the city entirely and gave chase.

"This thing's definitely targeting us!" Hawkman shouted as he flew, glancing behind at a monster whose eyeballs were larger than his entire body. He wished he had two extra pairs of wings.

"Could they be under the control of that fake Alex?" the Amazon Queen asked, raising a theory.

But Hourman's voice quickly crackled through their comms to shut it down.

(Our scans show that these monsters are either extraterrestrial or ancient Earth-originated species. They're extremely sensitive to high-level anomalous energy. It's possible they were drawn to those energy signatures—like the divine energy you all carry.)

"You're saying they want to feed on us? Use our godly power to recharge themselves?" Doctor Fate asked, incredulous.

Just then, one of Ghidorah's heads lunged at him with its jaws wide open.

Without hesitation, Fate opened a teleportation portal and vanished from the spot—his suspicions now fully confirmed.

(Very likely. Kent, you all need to be careful. Don't go head-to-head with these things. Their energy levels rival some of the ancient primordial demons.) Hourman's voice came through again, calm but urgent.

Because Hourman, Wildcat, and the other less powerful heroes couldn't even approach the battlefield without being overwhelmed, all they could do was issue instructions from afar—leaving the front line to the heavy hitters.

"I'm really curious—where did you even find information on these monsters?" the Amazon Queen couldn't help but ask. From ancient times to the present, she had never encountered any historical records or texts that referenced such creatures.

If these monsters didn't belong to their universe, then how did Hourman and the others even know anything about them?

The next moment, Hourman revealed the truth.

(I got it from old movies, comic books, and a few novels. Based on intel left behind by Batman, the reliability is surprisingly high.)

"Wait, what???"

The Amazon Queen's jaw dropped in shock—so much so that she nearly got swallowed whole by Ghidorah. Thankfully, Doctor Fate reacted quickly and opened a portal to pull her safely to his side.

After rescuing her, Doctor Fate explained calmly: "It's not hard to understand. In the multiverse, there are always subtle connections between worlds. What may exist as fiction in our world—movies, comics, legends—may actually be real in another universe. I confirmed this through conversations with Ms. Kara. In one of the universes she visited, she discovered versions of our world's comic books, almost like reflections."

"So…"

As he narrowly dodged another lightning bolt, Hawkman shouted back at Doctor Fate mid-flight: "How the hell does any of that help us right now?! Come up with a plan already!"

Just then—

From the surface of the ocean, a colossal tentacle suddenly burst upward, latching onto one of Ghidorah's hind legs.

That's when everyone realized: Ghidorah had been flying too low. Its massive body was practically skimming the waves. The monstrous tentacle, like a trap sprung from the deep, had caught it squarely in place.

Ghidorah was stunned at first, then immediately began to thrash and struggle—sending up an enormous tsunami that forced all the heroes to pull back to avoid being caught in the chaos.

As they rose into the sky, Doctor Fate's eyes widened in astonishment. Beneath the roiling waves, a massive black shadow began to surface—its size rivaling even Ghidorah's… maybe even larger.

"That—that thing!" Hawkman gasped, mouth agape.

Doctor Fate stared at the nightmare-inducing silhouette below, his voice low with awe and dread:

"That's the Guardian of Atlantis… the Leviathan of the North Sea—Kraken."
