Jiang Ce walked down the street, feeling the changes within his body.
In such a short time, he had become completely familiar with this body, strengthened by the inheritance.
The only issue was the Skill of Spiritual Vision... it wasn't yet effortless.
At a glance, he kept seeing things he shouldn't: lace, sheer fabrics, thongs... The key problem was that, being unpracticed, he couldn't turn it off at will.
Along the way, Jiang Ce had rubbed his eyes nearly raw.
"Right, during the inheritance dream, that person mentioned there was also a Ring Spirit in the ring. I wonder what that is," Jiang Ce murmured, caressing the ring.
BANG!!
Suddenly, a violent crash echoed.
Not far away, a pitch-black, blade-like Lamborghini had slammed hard into a utility pole. The front of the car was crumpled and billowing thick smoke.
"Ah, there's been an accident!" someone exclaimed.
Jiang Ce focused his gaze. The spiritual vision activated, revealing a young woman in the driver's seat, her head covered in blood, unconscious. The car was smoking heavily, on the verge of catching fire at any moment. If she wasn't rescued immediately, she would surely perish in the inferno.
Frowning, Jiang Ce rushed forward in a single bound.
He pried open the car door and saw the unconscious woman slumped to the side. Her long, brown hair was slightly curled, framing a stunningly beautiful face. Her skin looked impossibly delicate, and a black miniskirt clung seductively to her figure. Even covered in blood, she exuded an alluring charm, a rare beauty.
Even Jiang Ce was momentarily taken aback by her face.
He quickly snapped out of it, pulled her out by her long legs, and carried her away.
Just a few seconds after he had run clear, a loud BOOM erupted as the car was instantly engulfed in a roaring blaze.
That was close.
Jiang Ce laid the woman down on the side of the road and tried gently shaking her.
"Wake up, can you hear me?"
There was no response. Did she hit her head?
Jiang Ce immediately activated his spiritual vision. A quick scan revealed she only had superficial injuries. The real reason for her unconsciousness was a hidden ailment in her brain.
It seems she suffered a sudden flare-up of her condition while driving, which caused the crash.
Jiang Ce immediately began to treat her.
But...
The next moment, a jeep screeched to a halt, and several men in suits and sunglasses rushed out. The man in the lead had his collar open, revealing a lion tattoo on his chest and the character for "Loyalty" inked on his neck.
"Young Miss!" the tattooed man shouted anxiously, running over and shoving Jiang Ce aside in a panic. "Young Miss, are you all right?"
Jiang Ce wasn't angered by the push; he understood the man's urgency. Still, this whole display... Is this woman some kind of gangster princess?
"Your Young Miss is injured and needs treatment," he said calmly.
Hearing this, the tattooed man looked at Jiang Ce and frowned. "I can see that! Do you think I need you to tell me?" He paused. "Hey, wait a minute, why were you holding our Young Miss just now? What exactly happened?!"
Jiang Ce replied flatly, "She was in a car accident. If I hadn't pulled her from the car, you'd be looking at a pile of ashes right now."
The tattooed man froze, only then noticing the Lamborghini, which had been burned down to little more than its frame.
He asked in astonishment, "You're the one who saved our Young Miss?"
"Yes. And right now, her hidden brain condition has flared up. Her life is in imminent danger; she could die at any moment," Jiang Ce stated. "Step aside. I'm going to treat her, so don't waste any more time."
With a life on the line, Jiang Ce didn't bother arguing. He pushed the tattooed man aside, knelt, and prepared to continue his treatment.
Hearing the words "hidden illness," the tattooed man looked shocked. That was a secret within their organization; he couldn't believe this stranger had seen it at a glance. This man must be a medical expert!
"I'm sorry, I was being impulsive. Please, forgive me..." the tattooed man apologized hastily.
Seeing Jiang Ce ignore him, the tattooed man scratched his head. "Is there anything I can do? If you need help, just say the word."
"Do you have a knife?" Jiang Ce suddenly looked up.
"A knife? Will a watermelon knife do?"
Jiang Ce was speechless. "...As long as it's a knife."
The tattooed man quickly yelled for his subordinates to bring the machete from their car and handed it to Jiang Ce.
Jiang Ce took the blade and cut a slit in the fabric of the woman's dress over her abdomen, exposing her fair, slender waist.
The tattooed man's eyes bulged. "What are you doing?!"
"Treating her illness."
"Treating her? Then why... why are you cutting her clothes?"
"Would you rather I just take this dress off completely?" Jiang Ce rolled his eyes before placing his hand directly on the woman's abdomen.
The tattooed man's face flushed red, and he was speechless for a long moment. Who treats someone by touching their stomach? But since the illness was truly life-threatening, he didn't dare to act rashly. Besides, the man's expression didn't seem like he was trying to take advantage of the situation. Left with no other choice, he decided that out of sight was out of mind and turned his back.
After doing so, he pointed at his underlings. "All you bastards turn around, too! No peeking!"
Jiang Ce continued to press gently on the woman's abdomen, slowly infusing his Inner Strength to investigate. Although the symptoms manifested in her brain, the root of the illness originated in her body.
Sure enough, after probing her lower abdomen, chest, and flank, Jiang Ce discovered the cause of her condition was poison. This poison wasn't highly potent, but over time, it would slowly integrate into the bloodstream, eventually corroding the nerves and leaving the victim in a vegetative state.
From the looks of it, this woman had been afflicted with the poison for a very long time.
Nearby, the tattooed man was already on edge. Although his back was turned, he could see Jiang Ce's hands moving in his peripheral vision... He's touched almost every part of our Young Miss. If she wakes up and finds out, she'd have all of them killed, wouldn't she?
When Jiang Ce finally removed his hand, the tattooed man quickly asked, "How is she?"
"I've found the cause. Now I just need to expel the poison and prescribe some medicine. Your Young Miss will make a full recovery."
The tattooed man was overjoyed and let out a sigh of relief. "That's wonderful, just wonderful! As long as you can cure our Young Miss, you can name any price..."
Before he could finish, the screech of tires cut him off. A BMW pulled up, and a middle-aged man in glasses hurried out.
Upon seeing him, the tattooed man immediately became respectful. "Dr. Shi, you're here!"
Dr. Shi nodded. "Where is the Young Miss? How is her condition?"
"The Young Miss's illness acted up again. But don't worry, Dr. Shi, someone is already treating her!"
"What?"
"Yes, and he said he can cure her right away!"
Dr. Shi was stunned. He then saw Jiang Ce behind the tattooed man. When he took in the young man's face and his audacious hands, his eyelid twitched violently.
Crow was still looking smug. "Don't worry, Dr. Shi, as long as I'm here, I won't let anything happen to the Young Miss..."
SLAP!
Dr. Shi slapped Crow squarely across the face. "You brain-dead fool! You actually let a charlatan lay his hands on the Young Miss!"
The slap left Crow's head ringing. He clutched his cheek, aggrieved. "Dr. Shi, why did you hit me? This guy is the real deal! He saw the Young Miss's problem at a glance. He can definitely cure her..."
"The Young Miss has been seen by countless famous doctors for a year, and none of them could cure her. You think this punk kid can?" Dr. Shi roared. "Crow, you're finished! If anything happens to the Young Miss, you can just wait to die!"
Hearing this, Crow stood dumbstruck. He's right... why didn't I think of that! So many famous doctors couldn't cure her, so what makes this young man think he can?!
"You goddamn bastard, you dared to lie to me!" Crow snarled in fury, aiming a kick straight at Jiang Ce's face.
Jiang Ce had, of course, heard their entire conversation. But he was at a critical moment in the treatment and could not afford to be distracted.
Feeling the kick slicing through the air, Jiang Ce didn't even look up. He shot out a hand, precisely grabbing Crow's shin. With a sharp tug, he threw Crow completely off balance, sending him flying seven or eight meters away.
"You believe whatever anyone tells you? Are you brain-dead?" Jiang Ce said coldly. "Interrupt my treatment again, and I'll make sure you become one for real."
