He pressed the answer button.
A cloying voice came from the other end.
"Jiang Ce, how... how have you been lately?"
The voice was soft, but to Jiang Ce, it was utterly nauseating.
He replied flatly, "Chen Mei, if you have something to say, spit it out."
The remark made Chen Mei grit her teeth. But thinking of her mission, she forced a sweet tone and continued, "Jiang Ce, you've changed. You weren't like this before..."
"Spout any more crap and I'm hanging up."
"Don't hang up!"
Chen Mei panicked and finally got to the point.
"Jiang Ce, I'm calling to tell you that I regret everything. I never should have left you. That Liu Jiajun is a beast, a complete scumbag."
"I'm heartbroken right now. Can you come to the coffee shop where we used to go and sit with me for a while?"
Hearing this, Jiang Ce furrowed his brow.
So Chen Mei wants to get back together?
