"He's getting away!" a voice screamed through Gerald's mind, continuing to narrate the battle between him and his mysterious opponent. Due to the power of his smoke, he wielded the ability to soar through the beautiful skies of Trila, leaving young Gerald in the dust.
Little did he know, the firepower coursing through his legs gave him the ability to fly in control for over an hour, which would be more than enough for him to finalize the battle. "You're not going to escape your sins, I'll be sure to defeat you for sure!" he screamed, flying out of the fortress with his opponent and shooting a hostile ember of fire out of his legs, enough to propel him in the sky for an intense face-off.
However, as soon as his face lifted to glance at his opponent, he felt a sharp pain in his body, almost losing his balance. "This entire domain has been coated with poisonous smoke, boy!" he exclaimed, loudly laughing at the trick he had pulled on Gerald. "A few more inhales, and your entire body will blow into pieces and scatter across the island!"
Gerald frowned right at him, now fighting to lift his leg. The pain in his heart continued to linger, but he still had a backup plan to counter the formidable attack unleashed upon him. "This is like the battle with Sayeo, when I had kicked him up to the sky… this time, it's me that's going to be dead if I breathe any more of these fumes!"
His mind flashed back to the awakening of Emberatalia, where he had just barely survived Vani's deadly assault and had been healed by Kaelan before going back out and defeating her once and for all. This time, he would have no support as everyone was caught up in their own battle.
Shortly after the events of Hamila had been released to the world, multiple reactions sparked an uproar of chaos and freedom. Now that the Romanti Clan had fully disbanded, Team ENTITY had succeeded in their fateful mission of getting their second-strongest soldier, Gerald Romanti, back from their clutches. Would Team ENTITY be able to take down the Trilan government and the other forces trying to infiltrate it, or would they find themselves in a major problem? This is ENTITY Volume 11, Land Of Trila, Part 2.
Volume 11, Chapter 28 - A New Beginning
Minutes after the first inhalation of the poisonous smoke, Gerald felt an unwelcoming presence lingering around his body and trying to take hold of his subconscious, something he tried to restrict with all his might. "You don't wield unfathomable amounts of willpower now, do you?" the voice whispered. "Shut the hell up!" Gerald exclaimed, the flames on his leg slowly turning to Emberatalia.
The man smiled. "Just give up, there's no point in trying to fight me if I've already fully taken over your head! You're going to be a second vessel to me, and you'll kill all the people on this god damn isla-"
A sudden explosion shook the skies of Turia, sending the male into shock. He no longer had control over Gerald's head, and as the smoke cleared to reveal Gerald's body, he was sent into grave shock.
His legs, now burning a fire that held a rainbow color, shined across the sea that surrounded the island of Turia. "My willpower is unmatched, thank you very much!" he exclaimed, continuing to unite all the remaining power he had left in him to try and blow away the smoke that seemed to span across the entire skyline. "I'll send you flying like I had my first enemy, I'll become the right-hand-man of the best entity hunter in the world, ya hear me!?"
The man chuckled. "You can't do that if you're going to be the one that'll be defeated in this fateful battle!" he screamed, his eyes turning red and dragons appearing from across his body. "I'll use my powers to cut you down and humiliate you, you piece of shit!"
However, the dragons slowly withered away before they hit Gerald, the rainbow glow reflecting on each of them before they faded into the abyss. "Funny thing is, this attack was so rare to awaken that I never had the time to give it a proper name, but I'll name it in his honor!"
"Who are you talking about, boy!?" he screamed, flying across the sky and grabbing Gerald's neck. "You don't have anyone that'll die for you, so give me the pleasure of taking you out for good!"
He threw Gerald back into the cinematic island of Turia, hearing a faint crash coming from the ground. However, Gerald had gotten back up in less than a second after impact, and the rainbow glow surrounded his entire body instead of just his legs. It continued to multiply until it illuminated the sky like a star, catching his opponent's attention almost instantly. "This attack is something that can take the color right out of you, the presence of your soul will wither away with this attack!"
The wind currents surrounding them became stronger as Gerald winded his leg back, the glow finally reaching its peak. "Ultimate Attack!" he exclaimed, blurry memories of Fatima's sacrifice back in Hamila encouraging him to keep going. "I've been entrusted with the legacy of my family, and I won't let it be in vain!"
"You think I won't fight back!?" Gerald's opponent exclaimed, transforming into a similar mutation Cookie had also transformed into. "This is the form of a god; a form that will humble you and shake you for the rest of your life! Go to Hell, and never return to this cruel world!" he screamed, all his power melting into just a single attack. "Doomsday Dragon!" he screamed, smoke scattering all across the sky seconds before impact.
And as those seconds passed, their powers multiplied until they had taken one final blow on each other.
Suddenly, their attacks created a reaction that blew the clouds away, and caused the waves around the island to multiply. And a minute later, there was no trace of the impact of their attacks left, both of their bodies continuing to soar down from the sky as they looked at each other, unable to move their limbs. "Your attack… I can feel my life slowly withering away now," he informed Gerald, who continued to look into his eyes. "Before I die, I think I shall tell you my name, something that I have kept hidden for years."
Gerald nodded, signaling him to go on.
"If I truly don't make it through this, please remember the name Vincent - the man you defeated with an attack that held the presence of this very world in it." he said before crashing into a house in the abandoned village along with Gerald. However, there was only one survivor.
The battle between smoke and fire had officially ended (it's a really good combination ngl). The winner? Gerald Romanti.
