A few moments passed, and everyone's gaze was on him.
Vaughn didn't care who was looking at him and who was not. He finally took a step forward.
Eliza looked at him and held her breath.
A second later, a gunshot rang in the air. And then one more shot. The bullet was fast, way too fast. Before anyone could react to what just happened. One bullet hit Vaughn's back. And another bullet hit Eliza's chest.
Everyone gasped at the bloody scene in front of them, too shocked to react.
"Get the car ready," Silas shouted.
"Close the area. Find out who did it." Marco Deluca shouted.
One and a half days later…
The door of the emergency room in the hospital finally opened. Everyone waiting outside stood up at once.
Silas stepped forward quickly. His face was pale, his eyes tired, but his body language was alert.
The doctor took off his mask and looked at everyone.
"They're both fine," the doctor said, and the tension in the hallway finally dropped.
