ELLIOT'S POV..
.....Deep in thought....
* My name is Elliot heaves, I was born in the capital city four years before the war began. Well, I am or should I say the fifth child out of seven. We all grew up with our dad, though it wasn't much of a childhood to remember. When I turned twelve I realized we are against one of the most fierced famine structure and for this my mom died. Few months after her death my dad died aiding the warmen troops beyond the southern border. My sisters went their way dwelling in the city known as revenvelt one of the most peaceful town within the warmen territory. I joined the warmen alongside my elder brother to be able to protect our siblings, my siblings and I haven't seen since my entrance to the army. If time could be healed I won't be lying on a burning field filled with the living and dead, human and undescribable creatures battling over territories. Here I am in a war field, even if I never thought it'll get this horrible, as terrified as I am i still don't want to die.*
" Are you okay? Get up Elliot, this is no place to collapse, get the hell up " joelinton a fellow survivor screamed at me bringing me back to reality.
I stood up staggering, I was actually bleeding profusely and was badly bruised, from explosions and aggressive animals running wild across the field.
" What about coal and Jenner?" I asked.
" Down hill with the other squad " he answered me.
" Aren't we supposed to retreat?" I asked joelinton who rushed to me with an aggressive expression yelling.
" We fight till the last Elliot, for order and peace remember that's the code!"
Looking openly at the field I realized the odds of us surviving were slim.
" As much as I want peace joel, I don't want to die " i muttered still trying to keep myself balanced on my feet, but I started running as fast as I could back to the rendezvous point where we all would meet in other to return back to base.
I heard him screaming calling out my name with me not replying.
I ran back to the rendezvous, on getting their what I saw was so traumatic to my senses. The back up troops had been slaughtered, still holding my gun I had no choice but to go along with joelinton's code. I have to fight back, I started shooting at the monsters around me screaming at the top of my voice until I heard from a far distance.
" Elliot get down " it was Jenner.
I obliged immediately crouching.
Just at that moment a fired quad flew past launching bombs and shooting down monsters and levelling the field.
During the field levelling I passed out.
* I woke up to the sounds of voices around me I understood some.*
" Is he going to be okay?"
" I think so, but he needs to rest can we at least give him that " another more mature voice said.
" I don't think I can leave, can I stay without disturbing him?" Jenner asked.
" Please Jenner let him rest " the male voice said and left the room.
" Jen..ner " I muttered.
" Elliot you are awake " she said rushing me with a hug almost cracking my ribs.
" Am s... still..n..ot strong enough..for a..a.hug " I managed a word before she crack my rib open.
" Yeah sorry just a bit happy that you are okay " she said hurriedly, getting off my body.
" I'll pretend I never saw that " coal said standing at a far end of the room.
" It's...nice...to see you all " I replied.
" Same Elliot " coal said.
" Where are we?" I asked.
" The northern military base " Jenner answered.
" How..."
" You need rest Elliot, so save your questions for later " Jenner said interrupting me.
I wanted asking how they found us when the door opened and three senior captains walked in. Jenner and coal stood in attention and gave out a salute.
" Private Elliot heaves, how are you feeling?" One of the captain asked.
" I think am fine sir " I answered a lot boldly.
" You are safe now but first, I will like you to tell me how you survived four days streak in the belly of the beast, if you can't let one of your colleagues tell us " the captain said.
" I think I can still speak sir " I said.
" Then we're all ears " the captain suggested.
* I narrated everything since day one of our arrival till the time we were almost at our last, and all the while they just gave a nod *
" The whole base will be waiting for your quick recovery, the upper ranks and your fellow colleagues will be a lot inspired by what you have to say. Tomorrow evening is the hearing so you all get prepared " the captain said as they all left the room.
" I think we are now famous " coal announced.
" What about joelinton?" I asked.
" No one found him, we don't know if he is dead or he just bailed out " coal answered.
" Get some rest Elliot, beside we have a big day ahead of us " Jenner said.
" The base is a lot better than the southern base, they serve exclusive food one I can never trade for gold " coal said as he walked out the room leaving Jenner and I alone.
" Am so glad you are okay " Jenner said as tears began rolling down her cheeks.
" Why are you crying jen?" I said feeling her troubled heart trembling.
" I thought we lost you out there " she replied.
" Come here " I said to her.
She came close wiping the tears off her eyes. Her eyes were beautiful as usual as she came closer we embraced ourselves deep in a French kiss, we broke the kiss as I muttered.
" I love you."
" I know, and I love you to. Now have yourself rest you need it " she said stood up and left the room.
* I laid there on the bed looking at the ceiling with one thought in mind, if this is the case of the north how then is the east and mostly the west we have no clue about? Is Wilson dariket still alive? Those were questions I could never figure out the answers myself. So I just closed my eyes and went into one of the most mind pleasing slumber, I haven't had a nice and peaceful sleep for over a week now, so I made this one special.*
The morning came and go, I found myself sitting in the middle of a hall big enough to contain all upper ranked, and a huge number of war soldiers.
" Tell us from the order of the capital, from the seats of the king, what happened in those cold Forest?" The Senate chief of defense representing the north asked me.
* I looked at my friends who were seated at a far end, i took a deep breath, and what came out of my mouth thereafter was nothing but the truth. Even if the truth is painful and emotionally damaging in the hearts of man, but the truth they wanted and the truth was all I have to give *
