I was still thinking on how both of us will continue our act when someone who was behaving different was caught. In front of my eyes he was shot multiple times and was called intruder before they burnt the body, that was when I concluded that we were hypnotized in our sleep.
Nobody cares to have a conversation with a friend or ask questions about anything and to be honest I was scared.
Looking around from time to time to see if there will be someone who is still normal, I then saw Edward wandering the base without a clue about what was going on.
I and coal quickly ran to him, snatch him into a Corner.
" What the hell dudes, are you stupid or something?" He yelled.
" Shhhh ed, how did you sleep last night?" I said in whispers.
" How the hell will a sane man like yourself be asking how I slept, ok I was on air " he replied with disgust.
" That's not what I meant, did you listen to the voice in the radio during your bedtime?" I asked him with a lot of persistence.
" No dude i was listening to a high minded story on my headphone, wait, why are you asking me about my bedtime period, what the hell is wrong with you, and why the hell is everyone in the base behaving like an idiot?" He asked in rage.
" That is what I am trying to explain to you, they planned on hypnotizing us, every single one of us " I explained.
". So you are telling me that everyone in the base that listened to the voice are hypnotized?" He asked.
" Yeah " coal answered him.
" What, this is sick, out of my way " he said stubbornly pushing pass coal.
" For once drop your pride and see the reality, why then will everyone all of a sudden start acting strange, I think Mr Devon has a plan for us, and if we go out to battle like this, we will all be killed " i said.
" Why are you not hypnotized, both of you?" He asked pointing his hands.
" Me I don't know, but him same reason as you " I replied.
" Let me imagine all what you have said is true, and eventually Mr Devon has a hand in this, do you have any proof that our colleagues are hypnotized, answer me Elliot " He said with a sarcastic look.
" I don't have proof yet but I think the upper ranks haven't been hypnotized " I replied.
He stood still for a while looked at both of us like we are going crazy, then gave out a laugh and walked off.
" He'll forever be stubborn, what do we do now?" Coal asked me.
" Try our possible best to get the hell out of here " I answered him.
" Can't we at least have a word with our war captain even if he's been shot, to have a clue on what's going on " coal suggested.
" That's the problem, we can't just walk into their office, because we don't know if he's involved. If someone spots us doing what we both think is right, coal we may be killed " I said to him.
" If we get caught, and eventually face a law we don't even have a clue about, all our survival will be a waste " I added.
" He is going to get himself killed out there, coal " coal said referring to Edward.
" If he doesn't listen then let him be, at least let's think of a way to get ourselves and equally Jenner out of this thorned out place first before anyone else, if it'll actually be possible " I said.
" Okay, Jenner first then leaving the city later " coal announced, as we sneaked out of the corner and bumped into three of our colleagues.
" Are... you... both... okay?" The three of them asked the same time.
I looked at coal who looked at me back.
We took deep breaths before answering with same tone and idea.
" Everything is going good " we replied them.
" Well then, the judicator will like to see us all " they chorused.
" Alright we'll meet you there, first we need to talk to a fellow colleagues who is asleep in her bunker " we replied making them a bit surprised.
" Alright then we will take our leave " we chorused the words and immediately took off leaving them staring at both of us.
We ran to Jenner's bunker where we saw her and a colleague in a deep conversation which was weird looking at them.
" How do we get her out of here?" Coal asked.
Before I could answer they both stood up and left the bunker.
" Where the hell are they going?" Coal asked looking anxious.
" The Grand hall " I replied him.
We kept ourselves organized as we discreetly walked into the Grand hall, all the while my eyes never left Jenner.
As predicted, the person who stood in front of the pulpit was no other person than Devon.
" People, i am happy to be in front of you this very morning. I am sorry if some of you are so moltivated to be out there facing those monsters taking our pride, our freedom, well it ends today, what do you have to say war soldiers " he said.
" We want to fight " they all chorused.
" Are you not tired of this plague " he said in command.
" Hoorah, we are ready " they shouted.
I looked at coal who was equally surprised as me.
" We've been compromised " I muttered.
" I think I now believe you " a familiar voice spoke beside me, it was Edward.
" What the hell do we do?" He asked.
" Plan an escape, but first we need guns lots of them " I said.
" And how do we execute that plan?" Coal said.
" Terry " i replied.
Terry, the armory sergeant, he is the one holding the keys.
" And Jenner, or the therapist?" Coal said.
The therapist, that was when it hits me her office has no radio, and to what I understand she sleeps in her office.
" We will win " Devon shouted as everyone started running out the hall,we improvised, walking behind Jenner before she could turn around I knocked her out.
" Am sorry love, it's the only way " I whispered in her ears.
" What now?" Edward asked.
" We find Terry, this might be harder than I've planned..."
" Don't worry Elliot, we got your back " coal said before I could finish my sentence.
" Then you are going to stay with her, when she wakes use this " Edward said handing coal a rope.
" What if she screams?" Coal asked.
" Think of something dude " Edward said.
Coal looked at me with an expression that interpreted why me?
I just gave him a smile and followed Edward.
" This is it are you ready?" I asked him.
" I can't believe am saying this to you Elliot, but hell yeah " he replied with a smirk on his face.
" Here we go " i muttered.
