Cheng Xiao and Xu Kai arrived at the old Xu mansion where his grandfather resides. Xu Kai came out of the car and wanted to help her out, but Cheng Xiao had already existed the car.
Xu Kai walked in front of her and led the way to the house. Once they were inside Cheng Xiao released a breath.
"This is it. It all comes to today!" Cheng Xiao mumbled under her breath.
Today's meeting was what will decide her fate, whether she will finally give in and give this marriage a chance or they will finally be able to get the divorce.
"Kai!" Xu Kai's mother called when she saw them.
"Cheng Xiao, you are finally my daughter in law." Mrs. Xu said with the biggest smile on her face and went to hug Cheng Xiao.
Cheng Xiao didn't know what to say and just gave her an awkward smile back.
"Come!" Mrs. Xu said interlocking her arm with Cheng Xiao's own and led her to the living room.
"Mr. Xu!" Cheng Xiao greeted his father when she saw him.
"Cheng Xiao!" Mr. Xu greeted back.
Cheng Xiao sat beside Mrs. Xu. "Why are you calling him that? You should start calling him dad now." Mr. Xu said softly.
"Mother!" Xu Kai warned.
They sat in silence until the butler came and announced that the master was calling them to his study.
"Cheng Xiao, come!" Xu Kai said standing up.
Cheng Xiao didn't say anything and stood up to follow them.
Xu Kai knocked on the door and entered after he got permission to entered. The grandfather looked up and sized Cheng Xiao from head to toe, Cheng Xiao was nervous, but she did not cower or look down, instead she stood tall and looked ahead.
"Since she is here, you can leave." Xu Kai's grandfather said coldly.
"I want to be here." Xu Kai said.
"You are not needed." His grandfather said coldly.
"I..." "Leave!" His grandfather said seriously.
"I will not repeat myself." Xu Kai's grandfather warned.
Xu Kai nodded his head and left the room; Xu Kai didn't want to go far and stood outside the room to listen even though he knew it was futile since the room was soundproof.
"Have a seat." The grandfather motioned to the sofa in the study.
Cheng Xiao walked to the sofa and sat down. The grandfather stood up and joined her on the sofa, but he sat opposite them.
