Chapter 4 - Pink devil in white dress

It was morning, and I overslept—again—on such an important day, the day my true identity was to be revealed.

"Where is Ling Ling? Don't tell me she's still asleep," someone said, hoping to be proven wrong. But everyone knew me—I never changed.

"Ling Ling, wake up or you're going to be late for the meeting," Zha Zha tried to rouse me.

"Is it already time to eat?" I mumbled, half asleep.

Wen Zhin dragged me out of bed and forced me to shower—or else she'd never grant me personal leave.

At the conference room, impatience was growing. They called Zha Zha multiple times, wondering if the boss would show.

"This is outrageous. I know she's the boss, but this is disrespectful. How can she make us believe she'd finally reveal herself, then not appear?" one man complained, belittling.

"Oh my, oh my. Who would have thought that me lady dragon has gotten myself a brave rat from the gutter." I said smiling innocently as I pushed the door open and walked to my chair.

" And who the hell do you think you are to dictate my time. Or is it because I have given you too much face that you think you can talk however you want about me? " I said, my face changing from a gentle look to a cold, stern faced look.

I placed my hands crossed on top of the backrest as I looked around the boardroom. I got up straight, picked a pen and started walking around the table, playing with it as my eyes scavenging around like a predator searching for its next prey. I stopped at the back of the man who was talking when I first arrived. I turned his chair around and drove the pen into his thighs. A sharp piercing groan tore from his throat as blood soaked his tight leg. I stood up straight and stretched my hand out to get a handkerchief from Xiao Zha. The whole room went dead silent as if nothing had just happened.

"Now, where was I? Silly me. I just had to get angry over a tiny thing. Now I have even forgotten what I was about to say." I said smiling gently as I walked back to my chair.

"Oh yeah, I remember now. I'm Ling Zhao, the lady dragon. And the ruler of the Dracula empire." I said my face changing fast from a gently smile to a cold stone look as I took off my cloak and sat down.

The entire room went into shock. The very same God of Death that everyone was afraid of was just a cute looking innocent girl whose aura was enough to suffocate the nwtire room if she got serious.

I looked around the table, looking for that arrogant familiar face that kept putting airs with me. When I finally found him, he kept lowering his head down in fear and embarrassment. I smiled gently, pleased by the scene that was before me. I then turned my attention to the files that were placed before me.

" Let the meeting begin." I said, my voice ice cold, each word carrying a unmistakable command.

The meeting began. Lao Zhan had to stand up and share his investigation with everyone since the warehouse was under his care. It felt so please seeing him try by all means to avoid facing me. The feeling of watching that arrogant bastard humbled himself before me felt so pleasing that I even thought about recording him and watching it whenever I felt like exploding. How pleasing will it be?

The meeting went on for what felt like ages, though in reality, it had only been an hour.

Yep, you guessed it. I'm the type of boss who absolutely hates meetings—unless the meeting involves skinning a rat or gouging out my enemy's eyes. Hell yeah! Now that's a meeting I can get behind.

Just don't ask me to sit there and stare at a boring piece of paper covered in black-and-white words. No kissing scenes, no bedroom scenes—nope. Can't do it.

I haven't reached the age where I have to pretend to understand why I'm supposed to care about a bunch of words written on paper that make absolutely no sense to me.

I was about to take out to take out my phone from my pocket whenever someone spoke.

"Lǎodà , if I may speak," one member stood, bowed respectfully.

"Lǎodà, as you know. The Hexagonal gang is the most intelligent enemy we've ever faced. Their goal is to bring the Dracula Empire to its knees. To do so, they must eliminate all our powerful resources," he explained, trying to persuade the room to spare Lao Zhan.

"Yes?" I asked, curious about where he was taking his point.

"Don't you find it too convenient that they targeted one of our most valued warehouses, the one under Lao Zhan—the Dark Horse Rider? If they take him out, it will be simple to get close to you. But there's something else disturbing me," he continued with a concerned look.

"What is it?" I leaned in.

"The way the intruder moved, it was like he knew where all the security cameras were. It seemed like he'd been there before, but we all know that's impossible. Therefore, there's a rat among us. Someone told the enemy everything about the core warehouses of the empire. That is the only way the enemy could have known about the warehouse's security. " he said with conviction.

"You're correct. That's why I had all your PAs and guards—except mine, of course—stand outside, so they wouldn't know our plan. The rat is among your subordinates, so none of you need to worry about one of us being the traitor but that doesn't mean you are all clear of suspicion. With that said, none of you will go on this mission. Zha Zha and I will lead it with the South Korea team. We'll inform you all once we return. Meeting adjourned. " I said, getting up from my chair and headed for the door.

After leaving the conference room, I went straight home to grab my passport and informed Wen Zhin about my trip to South Korea. Then I headed to the airport and took a private jet.

As soon as I landed, I went straight to the hotel to discuss the mission.
