We were instructed to leave for the assembly hall and we all walked in two's and three's towards our destination. The head teacher, teachers and some directors were seated at the podium but the principal and vice were no where to be seen.
"do you think the CEO would come himself?"
"I doubt that" I shrugged nonchalantly.
"sister" Marilyn waved towards me, George and some students from the first class (this is the class specifically for the brilliant students) gazes on me.
George's gaze was more obvious and I felt slightly annoyed as I walked past them ignoring them. I remember telling my sister I had a crush on George and the next day I was met with the mocking gazes of students which I didn't understand. Natalie later explained to me that everyone knew I had a crush on George and he had said I wasn't up to the standard of the girlfriend he needs.
I knew Marilyn had told him because I didn't tell anyone else.
"didn't you listen" George blocked my way "Marilyn called for you"
I halted in my way, letting out a sarcastic laughter which I knew stunned everyone "who does she think she is and who do you think you are? her lackey?" I retorted, shoving him aside.
I heard them gasping and I turned to see George on the floor before walking up to Cyrus and Natalie.
"sister" I heard Natalie call out to me "you shouldn't have pushed him so hard." she reprimanded and I felt slightly annoyed "it's okay if you do this to me at home but we are in school and it's wrong" I frowned
we don't even live together
"if you can't get him, you try other means to get his attention. Charlotte I really admire you " someone spoke up sarcastically
Ignoring them I stood next to Natalie, my arms encircling her waist as I rested my head on her back. I couldn't hear their whispers, some sighing with pity, some consoling Marilyn and I choose to block them out because it was always the same method Marilyn uses to gain sympathy.
"They are here" Natalie said and I nodded slightly too lazy to lift my head when I heard Natalie gasp. "Charlotte, they are all handsome men"
Natalie was always fascinated with handsome men and I chose to ignore her. The principal gave a speech and after a short while, I heard a familiar voice which made me stiff.
"hello everyone, my name is Damon gray. CEO of G group"
Slowly I raised my head, my gaze colliding with a pair of black eyes which had me trembling in fear.
