Such a command would never have emerged through the Yellow Crystals unless Gilgamesh had foreseen it.
Despite the overwhelming odds, there were still conditions that could make this fusion possible.
First, and perhaps the most relevant, was the Origin.
In terms of the Fate Bubble, it was the starting point that defined one's existence and directed one's actions throughout life. It was the driving force that came from within The Root that had managed to stream out of the Source and take on material form.
In terms of The Primordial Tower, Origin was a contestant's individuality—a Source. This Individuality was also one's imprint on the vast cosmos. The one that was, is, and will be, forever and beyond.
And when this Individuality manifested in the material plane, it was called —Glitch.
That's why Kai and Black, despite being separate existences, were fundamentally the same. It wasn't as simple as both of them sharing the same pieces of soul, either. It went deeper than that.
Their Origin/Source was the same.
They were both — Blood Devourers!
The same applied to Shirou Emiya and Archer Emiya as well.
Being the same person from different timelines, both had Sword as their Origin, despite having a few differences in their Reality Marbles.
Kai's Origin had nothing to do with a sword, but because of Ayin, his Origin was directly linked to swords as well.
There was a reason his Zanpakuto could only devour swords to release his Shikai—not shields, halberds, chains, or any other weapon.
Second, and irrelevant to Shirou and Archer, was the incompleteness and lack of indigenousness of Kai's Reality Marble.
The first time Kai had released his Reality Marble, he had done it unwillingly, as it was his Zanpakuto that had made it possible from inside.
Ayin had caused a Multiversal Interdependency between Mana and Spirituality, taking Demon Slayer Verse Fusion's distorted principles as the basis, to release Kai's Reality Marble.
However, she had also told him that without the Life component, his Reality Marble would never be complete. Only later did Kai realize that without this Life component, he was incapable of achieving Bankai as well.
That same unfortunate realization was working in his favor presently, letting him fuse his incomplete Reality Marble with two other Reality Marbles that shared the same Source.
And, for this all to happen, he must resonate his Origin with that of Shirou and Archer as well.
"I am the bone of my sword…" Archer and Shirou said together.
Black hissed, following the two. "… I am the blood in my bones…"
A Reality Marble reflected how the caster saw himself, his life, and his future. Each line held a meaning related to their lives, experiences, and desires.
Because of Ayin, Kai had never needed to chant the full incantation of his Reality Marble.
However, for the true resonance to happen, and to minimize chances of failures, he must chant the full incantation as well.
"Steel is my body and fire is my blood…" the duo chanted, their eyes glowing blue with shared purpose
Black's hisses were more demonic, though. "Curse is my body and Corrupt is my luck…"
"I have created over a thousand blades…" The Characters chanted, space and time locking Gorgon at her place.
"I have devoured a million lives…" The Contestant followed.
"Unknown to death nor known to life…" Shirou, Archer, and Black said, sharing the chant.
"Have withstood pain to create many weapons," The duo uttered. "Yet, these hands will never hold anything…"
"Have discarded self to wield many forms," Black said. "Yet, these feet shall walk but one path…"
"So as I pray…" Shirou and Archer screamed.
Black's hiss echoed along with them. "So as I command…"
"Unlimited Blade Works!"
"Limitless Blood Firmament!!"
And, once again, Nothing Is Impossible revealed why it was the most broken ability in Kai's arsenal.
Rings of fire danced out of the three casters and replaced the entire world.
A gray sky descended over them, a hazy twilight, full of embers, lingering from horizon to horizon.
On the ground, a shallow blood ocean appeared, ripples originating around the trio's feet.
From the blood ocean, thick billows of black smog were rising, along with ancient-looking stony pillars. The entire ocean was covered in blades, half-submerged. Somewhere beyond the horizon, colossal gears turned, each movement marking an echo of hammer against steel.
In the middle of this abomination of a Reality Marble, there was a tower — a blackish-gray pillar so tall that it seemed to reach the heavens.
On top of this tower, there was a black hole—radiating a blueness from its periphery and exuding a bloodfall from within.
This was the field where everything would begin—and where it would end.
