Chapter 246 - Late Experimenting

Chapter 246 Late Experimenting

Aleshia had trouble sleeping and lingered in her boredom until she felt the urge to read. However, she realized that there wouldn't be any books in the camp, reasoning that they would be too expensive. As she pondered this, she then wondered why there was such a large stack of paper in the camp, specifically in Daniel's office. With that strange thought in mind, she quietly roamed around the camp, her footsteps soft against the ground. Since she had nothing else to do, she decided to try curing some more people.

After receiving Lucia's permission to help, Aleshia entered the room where the cursed were moaning in pain. As she scanned the room for someone she could cure, she eventually chose to help a man.

After preparing herself and recalling her work with Lucia, Aleshia conjured the circle above the cursed man. She remembered her previous mistakes and focused on linking the circle in the air, instead of within the person's body. With Lucia guiding her from the background, Aleshia experimented to make the process easier and more efficient, hoping to expend less energy next time and improve the method so it would cure them faster.

After completing her revisions on the circle, she began carefully channeling her mana into it. During this process, she identified several faults in the revised design. Aleshia corrected the issues that could interrupt the flow of mana or cause the mana within to dissipate. Once she had addressed these kinks, she activated the circle.

Blue light began flashing from the circle, signaling its activation and bathing the entire room in a bright glow. This light was much more intense than that of the previous curing circles the two had used. Aleshia instinctively shielded her eyes, nearly losing control of her mana, but she managed to regain hold over it. The sudden brightness caught the attention of one of the people they had cured, who groaned and startled Aleshia as he yelled, disoriented, "What? Who's there?! What's with this light?"

Aleshia attempted to respond, but she found it difficult to control the mana she was generating for the circle while also trying to calm the person yelling nearby. It was a challenge to keep her mana flowing steadily. At that moment, Lucia intervened, saying calmly, "It's alright. Let me handle this while you focus on him."

"Thank you," Aleshia replied, working to recompose herself. The circle stabilized and seemed to be nearing completion as Aleshia began speaking. "Sir, please remain calm. You are safe. There is no reason to fear." However, her words did little to soothe the panicking man.
