While Ham Gianini was chatting enthusiastically with a woman beside him on the dance floor, he was actually keeping an eye on Cameron Block and Maurice Rothschild. As soon as he saw them heading upstairs, leaving only Emma Harrison and Norma Schiller, he stopped talking to the woman next to him and walked straight towards Emma Harrison and Norma Schiller.
Ham Gianini's actions left the woman, who thought she had gained his favor, at a loss because her male companion had already left her by then.
