As the guests sat in the big white tent for the wedding party, the air buzzed with laughter and soft music. Pretty flowers hung from the ceiling, and fairy lights sparkled like stars above their heads.
Long tables were set with shiny plates, tall glasses, and fresh roses in little jars. The scent of food floated in the air.
The little boy, Jamal, weaved through the crowd with a big grin on his face as he approached Callan. He tugged on his sleeve gently. "Come see the game room!" Jamal said, eyes sparkling with excitement.
Callan, who had been sitting quietly at his seat, blinked in surprise. He had assumed that Jamal had forgotten all about him.
"It has a football table. Air hockey, and a big screen for video games. Come!" Jamal said, tugging again.
