Damon arrived at Delilah's doorsteps few minutes before noon, and Ned opened the door to let him in.
"Jessica will be with you soon," Ned said as he ushered Damon in after they had exchanged pleasantries. "Do you care for something to drink?"
"Thanks, but I'm fine. How are you feeling today, sir?" Damon asked politely and Ned smiled.
"Are you here as a doctor or my daughter's boyfriend?"
"Your daughter's boyfriend, who is a doctor?" Damon said with a grin and they both laughed.
"I'm fine," Ned said, and looked at Damon for a moment. "Both my girls have been through a lot. I wasn't there to stop them from getting hurt in the past. But I'm here now. I hope you're not going to try to mess with my daughter."
Damon smiled. "I have no intention of hurting, Jessica, sir. I give you my word that I love her and I'm going to protect her."
