The sky outside was dark and quiet by the time Damon and Jessica headed home from the restaurant. The car moved slowly along the road as soft music played from the radio. Damon's hand rested on the wheel while Jessica sat beside him, her head gently tilted back on the seat.
She let out a long yawn and covered her mouth with her hand.
Damon glanced at her, a soft smile tugging at his lips. "You're yawning again. It's been a long day, hasn't it?"
Jessica nodded, rubbing her eyes. "It has. I'm so tired. But I'm happy. So happy for Delilah and Hunter. I always knew he had what it takes to reach her heart."
Damon chuckled. "He did well. It was a beautiful day in all. We witnessed a lovely wedding and not one, but two beautiful proposals. That has to be a record."
Jessica laughed, her voice light and tired. "Love was definitely in the air today."
"Indeed," Damon said, reaching over and gently taking her hand. He brought it to his lips and kissed the back softly.
