This time, Castle was determined to give the little bastards who dared to make a move on his territory a lesson they wouldn't forget. He was even willing to take matters into his own hands. He left ten Russian bodyguards to watch over his estate, and now the security of the estate on Long Island was almost entirely entrusted to Jarvis.
After all, when he upgraded the security of his estate with the help of Big Ivan last time, he had turned the whole security system into an automatic one. With the defense system controlled by Jarvis and the ten Russian bodyguards filling in the gaps, the Long Island estate looked harmless on the surface, but in reality, it was a fortress.
This was also the main reason why Castle was bold enough to leave with Beckett and the chubby kid so openly. If the unrepentant Rockset organization or Taro Watanabe, still in the USA, thought they could do something now that he had left the Long Island estate, well, they were in for a nasty surprise. The fully automated defense system controlled by Jarvis, combined with the hidden security systems in the estate, would give any would-be intruders a hard time.
The reason Castle didn't rush to Hawaii the moment he learned his daughter had been kidnapped was that, while he had the confidence and ability to wipe out the Japanese network and agents that had been in place on the island for decades, his main base was in New York, not Oahu. He didn't have enough time, and even if he went to war with the Japanese, he lacked political backing and government support.
However, when he handed the detailed information to Steve and the Hawaiian Special Task Force, it was because they had local support from the Hawaiian governor, and the team was established specifically to combat violent crime and terrorism. Not only were they the local power, but they also had plenty of resources and time. Moreover, disrupting the Japanese network would be a major achievement for this newly formed team.
Also, the Japanese cabinet's intelligence office had extensive ties to the local Yakuza, and the man who killed Steve's father, Victor Hayes, actually had a very complicated relationship with Hiroshi Nishimura, the leader of the Hawaiian Yakuza. By the way, Nishimura's son later married Officer Kono Kalakaua and even joined the Special Task Force a few years later—none other than the charming Adam Nishimura, who preferred women over the throne.
The one who ordered the murder of Steve's father, Victor Hayes, was someone named Wu Fa, who would soon eliminate the Hawaiian governor, Governor Jameson, and almost frame Steve for it!
After considering all of this, Castle thought giving the intelligence to Steve's team, who also had a deep hatred for the Japanese, might just be the right call.
Sure enough, the situation developed just as Castle hoped!
After a long ten-hour flight, Castle arrived at Honolulu International Airport with a group of friends who weren't really there to help but more like to enjoy the tropical sunshine, as he had previously agreed with Neil Moz and the others before departure.
After all, aside from Beckett, who might have enough self-defense skills, the others were all weaklings. Neil, the chubby kid, and Ramsey, the girl, were more useful in the background than on the frontlines of combat. They were all strategic masterminds, especially Neil and Moz, who were both master-level tacticians.
Their purpose in coming to Hawaii was more about vacationing than engaging in the war against the Japanese intelligence network and infiltrators.
Ramsey's job was mostly to keep Alexis, who had just been kidnapped the day before, company and help lift the girl's spirits.
Right now, none of them, including Castle, who had been talking to Alexis on the phone for quite a while, knew that Alexis wasn't scared or anxious at all about her kidnapping.
Why? Because for Alexis, this whole kidnapping experience was just a real-life adventure!
Plus, after learning about the powerful network her doting father had hidden away, including the world's only artificial intelligence, Alexis, being a smart girl, knew perfectly well that after being rescued by the police, the five bodyguards who were stationed around her were secretly protecting her.
It was just that for some unknown reason, these bodyguards hadn't been able to stop the kidnapping at Honolulu Airport!
But it wasn't really their fault, right?
If she had only figured out sooner that her "best friend" was a meticulous liar, and if she had allowed her father to investigate her friends and classmates with Jarvis, this security lapse wouldn't have happened!
However, now that Alexis was waiting for her father and a group of friends and family at the Hilton Hotel on Waikiki Beach, she wasn't feeling scared or regretful at all!
Castle was just worrying for no reason!
He didn't understand that for a young girl raised by a rebellious father, being kidnapped and then rescued unharmed in less than five hours wasn't a terrifying event. In fact, it was a thrilling and exciting adventure!
Steve didn't come to Honolulu Airport to meet Castle, nor did he stay at his headquarters to wait for him. Instead, using the detailed intelligence Castle had sent him the previous night, Steve had been reporting to Governor Jameson of Hawaii since last night. He had mobilized a large force of police officers to launch a massive operation to arrest the Japanese intelligence agents and infiltrators already identified.
This wasn't a joke. The fact that Steve's team had rescued Alexis the previous night would definitely alert the Japanese infiltrators. If they had waited for Castle to arrive, they might have missed their chance, allowing some of the targets to slip away.
Therefore, the decisive team leader didn't rest and, after reaching a consensus with his team, began the operation to capture the Japanese spies and informants overnight.
By the end of the night, they had caught quite a few big fish!
Among them was the female agent, codenamed "Park Zhenhao," who had tricked Alexis into coming to Hawaii. She was arrested around five in the morning.
Castle knew that Steve had probably already arrived at Oahu, but he didn't have time to meet with the writer who had helped him capture at least fifty Japanese spies and informants overnight. When Castle got off the plane, Steve was at the governor's mansion explaining to the furious Governor Jameson why he had to urgently gather a team and launch an attack on many of the targets on Oahu in the middle of the night!
Holding a report that Steve had printed just before arriving, Governor Jameson was fuming. She had never imagined that, without the kidnapping incident in her jurisdiction, neither she nor the FBI, who were responsible for monitoring foreign intelligence personnel, would have realized how many spies the Japanese had infiltrated into Hawaii since the end of World War II. This was unacceptable! If something happened, she, as the governor of Hawaii, would be held accountable for dereliction of duty!
At first, when Steve had called her late at night asking for more authority, Governor Jameson had taken it lightly, thinking that since Steve was someone she had recruited, she had given him the authority while still half-asleep.
But Governor Jameson really hadn't expected that after getting the go-ahead, Steve had mobilized a large number of officers and arrested so many Japanese agents on Oahu. This was something the governor could no longer tolerate.
Putting down the report, Governor Jameson considered her words carefully: "So, you're saying that this intelligence wasn't gathered by you, but rather it was provided by the kidnapped girl's father, who wanted you to rescue his daughter quickly, and that this father is not only a famous writer but also the largest sponsor of the next president and a major shareholder in several defense contractors?"
Governor Jameson didn't know much about Castle, as she was a native of Hawaii and Castle lived across the entire Pacific Ocean in New York!
Therefore, Governor Jameson was like Dan and the others, who were also seeing Castle's full identity for the first time, and now she was asking Steve, who stood in front of her, perfectly composed:
"Yes, Governor, this intelligence was indeed provided by the victim's family to help us rescue their kidnapped daughter. After successfully rescuing the child, my team and I discussed and decided that we couldn't waste any time. We couldn't let those Japanese spies escape after learning of the rescue, so we immediately contacted you and got your permission to launch the arrests of the infiltrators in Hawaii."
Steve replied loudly!
