Ariane remained rooted to the ground as she gazed at the man in front of her.
Is he being serious? He looks so serious though
But why would he even come up with such absurd idea?
"No, I am not signing this." She said, returning the documents to him.
The man was surprised, but his expression remained unchanged.
"Would you rather pay up the money you owe me?" He asked.
"It was an ACCIDENT! Why the hell don't you understand? I didn't do it on purpose but you got me arrested for something this minor? I mean, we both got out unscathed. Furthermore, why can not my insurance company cover this up? I've been putting up with this damn attitude of yours but don't you think you have done enough?" She inquired, struggling to contain her internal rage.
The man's eyes narrowed as he gazed at her.
"So you are willing to cover every expense? My car? The time I squandered? And the agreement that I was unable to seal? The insurance company cannot cover one-tenth of what you owe me." He spoke without emotion.
Ariane didn't know what to do as she turned away.
How did she end up in this situation? She should not be wasting money and time on this weirdo.
She only need to get her family out of this mess not get them into more mess..
"I might even forget about your existence; I will not need you right away."Ariane slowly lowered her gaze, what should she do? And the contract...
"Although you have two options, keep in mind that those bags also contain a lot; you may face theft charges from the company." Her gaze came up to meet his.
For him, it is all business; her feelings are irrelevant. Well, there's nothing to loose any ways.
"Fine." She muttered in a less audible voice.
He continued to stare at her, squinting his eyes.
A person approached them and handed her a pen, which she took and signed the papers.
"Good." He spoke up and turned to face the police officer.
"I withdraw my complaint." He said and walked away.
After the cell was opened, Ariane emerged to receive her bags.
"Ma'am, your car's outside, but first sign." An officer said and so, she did accordingly before going out.
Her jaw dropped the moment she saw her car.
It had a lot of damages but there was none anymore.
"Mr. Everton gave your car a repair." The policeman said, handing her the keys.
"Oh." Was the only thing she could say before getting into the car.
He arrested her for running into him, forced her to sign a contract, and now repairs her car?
He truly is a strange man.
She thought before driving away.
Meanwhile, the gray-eyed man got into his car to answer a phone call.
"What?" He inquired about the moment the call was connected.
"Come home right now, Lian. Grandfather has called for a meeting.
The other person said.
"I will be there in ten minutes." He replied.

Ariane was as nervous as hell when she arrived at the company where she works, despite the fact that she was exhausted from the day's activities.
She hurried over to the CEO's office.
"Sir I-" she paused when she noticed the lady in the CEO's chair.
The woman continued to smile before standing up.
"Miss Niles. What took you so long?" The woman enquired.
"U-uh Mr-"
"Rio went to his meeting because he could not wait any longer."
'oh no, no, he left.' Ariane muttered while the woman walked to take a glass of water.
"Oops." She voiced out as she dropped the glass on the floor, while staring at Ariane.
"Help me tidy this up." She spoke as she lowered herself gradually to retrieve the glass.
Ariane briefly looked at the woman...
'What new plot has this woman schemed, she's being so nice with her words all of a sudden when she's always hated me.'
Ariane thought inwardly, she's always known from the very beginning that the lady hates her.
But then again, why should she bother..she then walked to get the broom.
"Ahh!" She heard the lady exclaim which made her run to the woman to see her bleeding from her hand.
Ariane took the glass from her as she worriedly look at the wound.
Just then, the door opened which made them both look to see the man at the door.
"Rio baby!" The woman called out as she ran to the man and started faking a cry.
Perplexed, Ariane stood there, trying to discern the woman's intentions.
"Baby, what's wrong? What are you crying?" Rio asked as he pulled away to look at her.
"Her...Rio, your secretary tried to kill me."she said as she pointed at Ariane.
"W-what?" Ariane slowly voiced out while Rio sharply glared at her.
"Sir, I didn't do anything -"
"She is trying to sweet talk you, Rio...w-when she returned and could not find you in the office, she glared at me, and I only said you left for your meeting...b-but she threatened me with the glass in her hand. She threatened to kill me if I did not break up with you, and even attempted to cut my finger. Lisa cried and showed him her bleeding finger.
"She's obsessed with you, Rio...and it's cause if how nice you've been to her. Look she's still holding the glass."
The glass dropped out of Ariane's hand as she stared at Lisa, still in shock.
'so this was her plan...' Ariane thought.
Rio then looked forward and saw the bloody glass Ariane dropped on the ground.
"S-sir, it's all a misunderstanding. She's lying to you, the glass fell and she-"
"Can you hear that Rio? She's accusing me of cutting myself. Rio, do you also want me dead? You know how much I love you Rio." He turned and cupped her cheeks then he wiped her tears.
"I do not want you dead, baby; stop crying. I'm here."
"But she'll try to kill me again." Lisa said as she cried even more.
He then pulled her into a hug.
"Miss Niles, please leave the company."
"But sir, I didn't try to kill her-"
"Not only did you delay to bring wat I asked you to bring, you also tried to kill my girlfriend so Leave miss Niles. You are fired." Rio said in a loud voice.
"S-sir..." She didn't know what to say anymore.
He wouldn't let her defend herself.
She dropped the bags and walked outside.
She proceeded to her table to gather her belongings.
Although she was aware that Lisa had never been fond of her, lying about being threatened with death seemed excessive, motivated solely by jealousy?
Sighing, she packed her belongings and left the company.
She dropped her things in her car before going to a shopping mall.
'Just need to get a new job but now I have to start over again...I haven't even found any thing that would link up to saving dad ....' She walked out and bought an enormous amount of goods, mostly food.
Once finished, she gave the credit card from the previous company to the cashier, who processed it. As soon as she left, she broke the card and threw it in a trash can.
"That is the payback for what you did today; I deserve a good rest." She said before going into her car.
