As soon as Ah Jiu left, the Wolf Child rushed out of the woods, still using all four limbs. In the blink of an eye, he had already jumped in front of Wufu and squatted down.
Wufu said, "You are a human, from now on you don't need to walk like this, walk on two legs."
The Wolf Child seemed partly understanding.
"Follow me?" Wufu reached out her hand to him and said, "Shall I take you for a wash?"
The Wolf Child looked at her clean clothes, then looked at himself, and lifted his head to look at her hand. After a long moment, he tentatively reached out his hand.
"Good child." Wufu immediately grabbed hold of it, leaving him no chance to retreat.
Holding his hand, she clearly felt that the hand in hers was rough, with a thick layer of calluses. How could this resemble a child's hand?
She led him to the lakeside and said, "Can you swim? Soak here and wash up."
The Wolf Child was quite bewildered, but obediently jumped in and submerged in the water.
