Arriving at her room, she opened the door and stepped inside. There were three other women within the room, her roommates and fellow slaves.
"Finally back, Vega. How was work?"
One of her roommates asked. Her name was Gladis, and she was of average height, but a beautiful woman regardless. She had a scar across her forehead, acquired during a battle back in her own Lower Galaxy, as she, too, was an Ascendant. She had been a slave to these people for a century.
"The usual, forced to work, get paid, but actually receive only a fifth of the supposed Credits."
Vega replied as she sat on the ground with a heavy sigh. Although she could have sat on her bed, she needed to take a shower first.
Another woman shook her head as she responded, her attention focused on the phone in her hand.
"You are sort of a special slave, after all. You are the only one who receives a fifth of your Credits when you are actually supposed to receive half of that as a slave."
