"Ah!" Misty screamed as her body fell through the air uncontrollably. Pidgeotto panicked and quickly dove after her, but in this chaotic situation, it couldn't catch up in time.
"Charizard!" Ash immediately called out to his Fire-type Pokémon. Charizard understood instantly and flew toward Misty's falling form.
At the moment Misty fell, Ash reached out and grabbed her, pulling her onto Charizard's back to sit in front of him. Fortunately, Charizard had grown strong enough to carry two people, otherwise this rescue would have been impossible.
"What in the world is going on?" After being rescued by Ash, Misty was still shaken. She had no idea what had caused that sudden attack.
"There's something much bigger coming," Ash replied grimly.
Ash frowned as he peered into the dark depths of the cave. A massive figure emerged from the shadows, and the fossil Pokémon around it immediately retreated when they saw this newcomer.
"Oh no! That's—!" Misty gasped as she saw the figure rising rapidly from the darkness.
"Aerodactyl!" Ash recognized the ancient Pokémon immediately. This was undoubtedly the most formidable opponent among all the fossil Pokémon they had encountered.
"I can't believe there's an Aerodactyl here too!" Gary and the others were equally surprised when they witnessed this scene. There was no question that Aerodactyl was far stronger than the other fossil Pokémon they had seen.
Moreover, Aerodactyl was incredibly fast in the air and immediately began pursuing them. Seeing Ash and the others preparing to escape, the Rock/Flying-type Pokémon spread its wings wide, and a strange purple light began to glow around its body.
Ancient bone-like fossils materialized out of thin air within the purple energy, then flew directly toward Ash and his group.
"Watch out! Ancient Power incoming!" Gary shouted to Ash from his position in the sky.
"Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Ash commanded without hesitation.
Upon hearing its trainer's voice, Pikachu turned around and leaped up, releasing a powerful Thunderbolt that struck the flying fossils repeatedly. The two attacks collided and exploded, filling the air with turbulent winds and thick smoke.
"Now!" Ash immediately called out to the others. Everyone stopped wasting time and seized the opportunity to fly through the opening in the chaos.
Finally, they made it outside. Everyone gathered together as the landslide outside had stopped, and at that moment, the sound of approaching footsteps could be heard.
Soon, Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny appeared, leading a group of people—all those who had been excavating in the area before the incident.
"Are you all okay?" Officer Jenny asked urgently. After the explosion, she had been searching for anyone who might have been trapped. Some people had already been found, and when she heard the commotion, she rushed over immediately.
"We're... we're fine!" several people responded, though they didn't have time to truly relax yet.
ROOOOOAR!
At that moment, the terrifying roar echoed again. Gary and the others turned around instinctively, only to see a massive figure bursting out rapidly. As it rose into the air, golden energy was already condensing in its fearsome jaws.
BOOM!
The moment Aerodactyl erupted from the ground, it soared into the air and released its attack directly toward everyone below.
"Get out of the way!" Brock shouted quickly. Everyone scrambled to dodge as Aerodactyl's Hyper Beam struck the ground and swept forward along the surface.
Officer Jenny quickly signaled for everyone to take cover, but the power of the Hyper Beam as it swept across the ground still produced an incredible explosion. The beam carved a long, devastating path across the landscape.
"What... what's happening?" Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy were still recovering from the shock after narrowly escaping, but the other people present were going wild with excitement.
"Aerodactyl! It's really Aerodactyl! The legend of Grampa Canyon is true!" both researchers and trainers exclaimed the moment they laid eyes on the ancient Pokémon.
Aerodactyl! This was a genuine ancient Pokémon. The presence of Aerodactyl meant that there were fossils of prehistoric Pokémon in Grampa Canyon. Even more remarkable, the Aerodactyl before them was alive—not just a fossil.
"Capture Aerodactyl!" many people were already shouting excitedly.
"Seriously? Don't these people realize how dangerous this situation is?" Gary couldn't help but comment after witnessing this scene.
ROOOOOAR!
However, at that moment, Charizard beside Ash looked up into the air and roared suddenly. The previous opponents had shown no interest in challenging it, but this Aerodactyl was different. Especially after Aerodactyl's continuous attacks, Charizard was clearly agitated. It roared and took flight, spreading its wings wide. Seeing this, Ash turned to follow.
Since Charizard wanted to challenge Aerodactyl, Ash wouldn't refuse. When Misty saw this, she couldn't help but call out in concern.
"Ash!"
"There he goes again!" Gary said with exasperation, knowing full well that Ash had been like this since they were children.
"We can't let him get the first shot! Let's go too!" many trainers from behind quickly shouted, obviously thinking that Ash was going to attempt to capture Aerodactyl and refusing to let him take the lead. After all, no one wanted to give up the chance to catch such a rare and powerful Pokémon.
Rumble, rumble, rumble!
However, at that moment, the ground suddenly began to shake violently. Then several figures emerged from the crack where everyone had escaped, and Kabuto began pouring out like a relentless tide.
"Oh no! We need to get out of here!" Gary said quickly upon seeing this scene. Kabuto could move along walls, so climbing up was no problem for them at all.
At the same time, the Kabutops below used their scythe-like arms to hook onto the wall and climbed up, while Omanyte and Omastar used their tentacles to scale the rocky surface.
They had simply been sleeping all this time. Perhaps they knew in their hearts that their era had ended, but in reality, they could emerge whenever they chose to.
"This is... this is incredible!" The people who had been excited to see Aerodactyl moments before were now terrified by the situation unfolding before them. The number of these ancient Pokémon far exceeded the number of people present.
"Everyone, run!" Officer Jenny couldn't maintain control when she saw this scene and quickly shouted to everyone.
When the people behind them saw what was happening, they didn't care about anything else and began running for their lives. However, the Kabuto emerged in massive numbers and kept pursuing them relentlessly.
Not only from the place where Ash and others had just exited, but also from other locations throughout the valley, the ground suddenly cracked open, and many more ancient Pokémon appeared from the depths below.
