Meanwhile, in the air above, Charizard followed Aerodactyl into the sky. Aerodactyl flew ahead while Charizard pursued from behind, continuously using Flamethrower to attack.
Aerodactyl was incredibly fast and quite agile in the air, successfully avoiding several consecutive Flamethrower attacks from Charizard.
"Charizard, don't rush! Catch up first!" Ash called out from below, watching as Charizard's consecutive attacks missed their target.
Charizard looked down at Ash after hearing the command, nodded slightly, then stopped attacking and instead flew toward Aerodactyl at full speed.
Normally, Aerodactyl would be faster than Charizard, but Ash's Charizard was no ordinary Pokémon. Unlike the anime version, this Charizard hadn't been trained in the Charicific Valley.
During their time in the Orange Islands, its speed had once been able to compete with Drake's Dragonite, the strongest trainer in the Orange Islands. Now Charizard's strength was not inferior to those trained in the Charicific Valley, and its speed was definitely not inferior to Aerodactyl's.
What's more, the Aerodactyl before them had been sleeping for ages, and its condition shouldn't be at its best after just awakening.
Following Ash's order, Charizard accelerated and soon drew alongside Aerodactyl. The ancient Pokémon noticed this and glanced at Charizard from the corner of its eye.
"Thunder Punch!" Ash commanded from below.
Upon hearing this, Charizard clenched its fists as electricity sparked around its claws, then threw a direct punch at Aerodactyl.
Aerodactyl reacted quickly, turning its body in the air to swiftly avoid the attack. After dodging, however, Aerodactyl didn't flee anymore, seemingly realizing there was no way to shake off Charizard.
After avoiding the Thunder Punch, it spread its wings wide. The metallic luster on its wings gleamed as it crashed directly toward Charizard with a Steel Wing attack.
"Dodge it!" Ash shouted, directing Charizard's battle from below.
Charizard heard the command and quickly maneuvered in the air to avoid the incoming attack.
After Aerodactyl rushed past Charizard, it circled back and turned to face its opponent. Purple light appeared in the air around its body once again.
Primal power erupted as huge rocks emerged from the purple energy. Ancient Power was unleashed again, and all the fossil projectiles were hurled in Charizard's direction.
"Thunder Punch!" Ash reacted immediately as he saw the rocks approaching like a meteor shower.
Charizard clenched both fists simultaneously as dazzling lightning flashed around them, then began punching rapidly.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The Thunder Punch attacks struck continuously, directly smashing the flying fossils into pieces while filling the air with thick smoke.
Whoosh!
At that moment, Aerodactyl immediately used its speed to burst through the smoke. With wings spread wide and gleaming with metallic light, it launched another Steel Wing attack, rushing directly toward the smoke cloud ahead.
BOOM!
After smashing through the flying fossils and surrounded by smoke, Aerodactyl suddenly burst out of the haze.
Charizard's expression changed as the Steel Wing attack struck its body. Charizard let out a low growl and was pushed back slightly.
Aerodactyl flew past Charizard after the successful hit. Ash frowned slightly when he saw this, but he knew his Charizard couldn't be defeated so easily.
"Flamethrower!" he commanded.
Upon hearing the order, Charizard suddenly opened its eyes, turned around, and released a powerful Flamethrower directly at Aerodactyl, who was still facing away.
Obviously, the ancient Pokémon hadn't expected Charizard to recover so quickly after being hit, and it didn't have time to dodge.
BOOM!
ROOOOOAR!
The blazing flames struck Aerodactyl's back directly. Its eyes widened as severe pain shot through its back, and its body was pushed forward by the intense flames.
After a moment, Aerodactyl spread its wings wide to disperse the flames. At the same time, it turned around with golden energy condensing in its mouth once again—it was clearly irritated now.

The next moment, energy exploded as a Hyper Beam blasted directly toward Charizard. Ash's eyes narrowed when he saw this.
"I was waiting for that! Charizard, fly upward!"
Charizard saw the destructive beam approaching and immediately spread its wings, soaring into the air to avoid the Hyper Beam's path.
Although the power of Hyper Beam was formidable, there was always a brief recoil period where the user couldn't move after using it. While stronger Pokémon could overcome this limitation to some degree, this moment would be enough for Charizard.
"Use Seismic Toss!" Ash commanded.
Charizard dove down and rushed toward Aerodactyl. While the ancient Pokémon was still in its post-Hyper Beam recoil state, Charizard grabbed it tightly and flew to an even greater height in the sky.
Holding Aerodactyl firmly, Charizard soared high into the sky, then began spinning rapidly in the air, tracing a perfect circle as if rotating around the earth itself.
Using the power of centrifugal force, it rushed directly toward the ground. Aerodactyl struggled in Charizard's grip but couldn't break free. While Aerodactyl was very fast, it definitely wasn't as physically powerful as Charizard.
Faced with this situation, Aerodactyl was unable to escape. When they were still several feet from the ground, Charizard released its grip and hurled Aerodactyl directly toward the earth.
CRASH!
A heavy impact echoed as the ground instantly cracked and dust spread everywhere. Charizard also descended toward the ground, and through the smoke, a low growl could still be heard—indicating that Aerodactyl hadn't been knocked out.
As Aerodactyl spread its wings, the dust was scattered away. It was obvious that the Seismic Toss had dealt serious damage to it.
Although Fighting-type moves were super effective against Rock-type Pokémon, Aerodactyl also had the Flying-type attribute, which reduced the damage from Fighting-type attacks.
With great difficulty, Aerodactyl spread its wings and was about to take off again. At that moment, Charizard happened to be swooping down from the sky. Seeing that Aerodactyl was about to become airborne again, Ash seized the opportunity.
"Blast Burn!" he commanded.

Responding to Ash's call, Charizard let out a low roar. While still in the air, it released a stream of intense flames, then clenched its fist and struck the ground hard the moment it landed.

The flame energy collided underground, and pillars of fire instantly erupted from the ground. Just as Aerodactyl was about to take off, the continuously emerging fire pillars struck its body.
Aerodactyl suddenly let out a scream as its body was blasted into the air by the fire pillar. The intense flame explosion instantly engulfed the ancient Pokémon.
