Blast Burn is an extremely powerful special move. Although it can reach opponents at high altitudes, it still has limitations due to distance. Flying opponents can avoid it as long as they can soar high enough into the sky.

This move works similarly to Hyper Beam. After using it, the Pokémon becomes rigid and unable to move for a turn, even though Charizard had been trained to incredible strength over the years.

For now, this weakness cannot be completely overcome. However, once you reach Elite or Champion level, these powerful moves become less burdensome for Pokémon to use.

For example, Hyper Beam becomes essentially like a normal move at that level. You can use it however you want without much drawback. Special moves like Flare Blitz, which cause recoil damage to the user, also become much more manageable.

The first requirement for Elite and Champion-level Pokémon is that they must have enough endurance and defensive capability.

At the Elite Four level, everyone seems to develop a particular habit. When battling ordinary Trainers, they prefer to let their opponents make the first move, then show off their power after their opponent finishes attacking.

When facing a Champion, however, the roles reverse. The Champion also likes to let the Elite Four attack first, because Champions are even more confident in their abilities.

Looking at the flames exploding like fireworks in the sky, Ash stared intently into the inferno and spotted a figure falling from within the blazing explosion.

Black smoke rose from its body, and its skin was charred black by the intense flames. The figure crashed heavily to the ground. Seeing this, Ash quickly pulled out a Poké Ball.

"Go!" The Poké Ball flew out in a perfect arc, soaring directly toward the fallen Aerodactyl.

Boom!

With a sharp sound, the Poké Ball opened, and Aerodactyl was transformed into a burst of red light that was absorbed into the ball.

The Poké Ball fell to the ground and began shaking with flashing lights. Charizard stood nearby, completely calm and unconcerned, but Pikachu on Ash's shoulder and Jigglypuff on his head were nervously watching with their tiny hands clasped together.

Jigglypuff was almost afraid to breathe, though it didn't quite understand what it was nervous about. When it held its breath, its whole body would puff up like a balloon.

After several tense moments, the light on the Poké Ball finally faded, and a crisp "click" sound rang out. This is the sound that all Trainers find thrilling, no matter how long they've been training or how many times they've heard it.

"Success!" Ash exclaimed when he saw the ball stop moving.

Although he maintained the philosophy about fossil Pokémon that "sometimes fate will bring them to you, and there's no point forcing it when the time isn't right," he still felt incredibly excited to have successfully caught one.

Before he could retrieve the Poké Ball, it had already transformed into a burst of light and disappeared. It was obviously teleported back to Pallet Town. Professor Oak would surely be surprised when he discovered it.

"Charizard, excellent work!" After successfully capturing Aerodactyl, Ash lightly bumped Charizard's shoulder with his fist, and Charizard raised its head and let out an excited roar.

After such an exhilarating battle, Charizard was in high spirits. In fact, whether the opponent was captured or not was secondary to defeating it. Only after conquering a powerful rival could Charizard feel truly satisfied.

Seeing Ash's praise for Charizard, the little Jigglypuff on his head seemed somewhat displeased and puffed out its cheeks in a small pout.

However, seeing how large and powerful Charizard was, and remembering the intense battle it had just witnessed, Jigglypuff didn't dare act out. If it were Pikachu, it might have gone up to challenge the Fire-type.

"Pika pika!"

At that moment, Pikachu called out to Ash, and upon hearing the sound, Ash suddenly remembered something important.

"That's right!" He turned around and looked behind him, then quickly climbed onto Charizard's back. Seeing this, Charizard immediately took off and flew in the direction they had come from.

From the aerial view, one could clearly see that massive swarms of Kabuto were continuously pouring out of the cave entrance.

There were numerous Kabutops, Omanyte, and Omastar among them, and many appeared to have evolved directly in their rage after being awakened from their ancient slumber.

The situation had suddenly become completely uncontrollable. Many people at the scene were surrounded by groups of the fossil Pokémon, including Gary and the others.

If Aerodactyl were still here, it might be able to help control the situation, but Ash's team of six Pokémon was already full, and there was no place to swap Pokémon in Grampa Canyon.

There were so many fossil Pokémon present now. Even if they could all be defeated, it would take many people working together for several days. It was essentially impossible to defeat them all through direct battle.

"Wait!" Just when he didn't know what to do, Ash felt something moving on his head and suddenly thought of a solution.

He quickly had Charizard find a relatively safe location, then landed and looked at Jigglypuff, who was holding its microphone marker.

"Jigglypuff, you love to sing, don't you? Sing as loudly as you can right now!" Ash placed Jigglypuff on a large rock and spoke encouragingly.

In this situation, only Jigglypuff could provide the help they needed.

"Puff?!"

Jigglypuff looked puzzled at first, then expressed pure joy. After so many days, it could finally sing again! It nodded eagerly. It didn't care whether it was being used as a tool or not—it just wanted to sing anyway.

"Jigglypuff... Jiggly puff... Jigglypuff..."

The marker microphone in hand, Jigglypuff began to sing. Being in the valley, its song continued to echo off the canyon walls, making the sound travel much farther and be clearly heard anywhere in the valley.

Below, the fossil Pokémon who had originally been excited, ferocious, and filled with ancient rage suddenly began to change their movements. Everyone present was affected as well.

"This voice is... Could it be?!"

Misty and Brock sensed something was wrong when they heard the familiar melody. Before they had time to think about it properly, they felt their eyelids beginning to grow heavy.

Up on the mountain, listening to Jigglypuff's lullaby, even Pikachu and Charizard couldn't hold on any longer. Charizard slowly lay down on the ground, supported its head with its claws, lay on its side and closed its eyes. Pikachu simply collapsed directly onto Ash's shoulder.

Even Ash himself couldn't resist much longer—this singing voice was incredibly powerful.

No! This can't continue like this. I don't want to wake up with scribbles all over my face, and if everyone falls asleep, what will happen if the fossil Pokémon wake up first?
