The surrounding area echoed with continuous rumbling sounds as the explosion's shockwave spread indiscriminately in all directions. Team Rocket members throughout the laboratory were caught in the blast's range and sent flying by the powerful impact.
"Roaar!" Dragonite quickly positioned itself in front of Lance, using its body as a shield to protect its trainer from the explosive winds and debris.
After what felt like an eternity, the smoke and rushing air currents gradually began to dissipate. Lance surveyed the ground ahead of him, where the recent explosion had carved out a massive, deep crater in the laboratory floor.
Lance frowned grimly. Even at his level of experience and skill, he found this power to be terrifyingly overwhelming.
Slowly raising his gaze upward, he saw that the glowing figure had emerged from the shattered glass container and was now hovering directly above Archer's position.
The brilliant light gradually faded away, revealing something that had never before appeared in the long history of Pokémon and human coexistence. Even Lance's expression was filled with complete horror at what he was witnessing.
"This is impossible!" Lance stared in disbelief at the creature floating before him. It was a Pokémon unlike anything he had ever encountered before. In fact, he wasn't even certain it could still be called a Pokémon.
The massive figure suspended in the air featured Moltres's body as its central torso, but its normal wings had completely disappeared.
On the left side, half of Articuno's body had replaced Moltres's left wing, while on the right, half of Zapdos's body served as the right wing replacement.
The bodies of the three legendary Pokémon were pieced together like some grotesque puzzle. Lance couldn't determine whether this abomination should be considered a fusion or merely a forced combination.
"What have you done?" Lance demanded, his voice cold with fury as he stared at the monstrous creation before him.
"Hah! This is Team Rocket's greatest masterpiece!" Archer replied with obvious pride. "The power of the three legendary birds is multiplied exponentially when their energies are combined together."
"And this is only the beginning!" Archer sneered with satisfaction. With the control device in his hand, he could sense the incredible power at his command, and it was absolutely intoxicating.
"This is madness! I will never allow such an abomination to exist!" Lance declared, unconsciously clenching his fists in determination.
"Ha! Come and try to stop it if you think you can!" Archer taunted, then gripped the control device more tightly in his hand.
SCREECH!
The three legendary birds released piercing cries simultaneously. The heads of both Moltres and Articuno opened their beaks once again, condensing Flamethrower and Ice Beam attacks respectively.
Zapdos's body section began crackling with powerful electrical energy, preparing to release a devastating Thunderbolt. Surprisingly, the electric current from Zapdos didn't seem to interfere with or damage the ice and fire attacks from Articuno and Moltres.
BOOM!
In the next instant, all three energies were unleashed simultaneously. Seeing this coordinated assault, Lance's expression changed dramatically as he quickly leaped onto Dragonite's back.
"Get us out of here!" Lance commanded urgently. After witnessing the devastating power of the previous attack, he knew there was no way to confront this creature head-on.
Upon hearing its trainer's command, Dragonite immediately took flight, carrying Lance away from the incoming barrage. The combined attack from the three legendary birds struck the laboratory floor, creating another massive explosion that filled the air with fire and smoke. Lance frowned deeply as he observed the destruction.
Facing this unprecedented type of Pokémon, even someone of Lance's caliber wasn't sure how to effectively combat it.
Seeing Lance's obviously distressed expression, Archer felt immensely satisfied. Usually, Team Rocket members would flee whenever they encountered the Elite Four member, but now he finally had the opportunity for revenge.
"Archer! Don't waste any more time—the Boss is still waiting for us!" Ariana called out as she approached. A helicopter had landed on a platform nearby, ready for their escape.
"Understood!" Archer replied after hearing her reminder. He seemed to have lost interest in continuing his confrontation with Lance and turned toward the waiting aircraft.
Archer climbed aboard the helicopter, and the platform beneath it began to rise like an elevator, lifting the aircraft toward the surface.
"Don't even think about escaping!" Lance shouted upon seeing their attempted retreat.
Just as he was about to pursue them, a beam of Ice Beam suddenly flashed through the air toward him. Dragonite reacted with lightning-quick reflexes, pulling back just in time to avoid the attack.
The Ice Beam struck the wall beside them, instantly freezing a large section of the laboratory structure. This combination creature wasn't simply three Pokémon crudely pieced together—their individual attacks had also been qualitatively enhanced beyond their normal limits. Lance couldn't help but frown at this disturbing realization.
"Hmph! Time for us to make our exit!" Archer declared with a sneer as he manipulated the control device once more.
The three legendary birds' eyes flashed with red light, and their combined body began emanating a brilliant blue aura. Both Articuno and Zapdos spread their respective wing sections wide.
Within the blue radiance, streams of blue-white feathers began swirling outward, and the light surrounding their entire form condensed into a sharp, bird-like silhouette. This was Sky Attack, one of the most powerful Flying-type moves.
Sky Attack was among the ultimate techniques available to Flying-type Pokémon, with power comparable to that of Brave Bird.
However, unlike Brave Bird, which caused recoil damage to the user, Sky Attack didn't inflict any reactive harm on the attacker.
Normally, Sky Attack required significant preparation time to charge up, similar to moves like Solar Beam.
But this fused creature executed the technique instantaneously, with almost no charging period required, and launched itself directly upward through the laboratory.
CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!
Using Sky Attack, the overwhelming force smashed straight through the ceiling above. Explosions continued to echo as the three legendary birds broke through multiple floors and disappeared from the underground facility.
Meanwhile, the helicopter carrying Archer and the other Team Rocket executives also departed from the laboratory, lifted by the same mechanical platform system.
"Damn it!" Lance cursed as he watched their escape. This was Celadon City, a major metropolitan area.
Even at night, there were still countless innocent people throughout the city. It would be incredibly dangerous for that creature to be loose in such a populated area.
"We have to catch up to them!" Lance declared, unable to hesitate any longer. Regardless of how powerful their opponent was, he had to find a way to stop them.
"Roaar!" Dragonite nodded in understanding, then quickly carried Lance upward through the hole created by the three legendary birds, pursuing them toward the surface.
At that moment, on the streets of Celadon City, the citizens were enjoying their usual pleasant nightlife activities throughout the bustling metropolis.
Normally, business districts would be even more crowded and lively during the evening hours, but recently there had been some unusual disturbances coming from the Game Corner that had people curious and concerned.
CRASH!
"What was that sound?" A powerful impact suddenly resonated through the area, immediately drawing the attention of all the citizens near the Game Corner.
