Prolog
The humidity hung thick in the godforsaken Jungle Walker Found himself in. He wondered how he found himself in this situation, thinking back. It. It was always going to end like this gun downed in a place where no one would find him. After all, Walker didn't exist in a manner that anyone was able to identify him. He had no fingerprints, no dental records, and not even a birth certificate anymore. He didn't exist in any meaningful way. There was no family, no loved ones, only his team and now they had vanished, shot down in an ambush, and he remained as the sole survivor. "God damn it, how did they become aware of our location here?"
A snap of a twig brought him out of his thoughts in a flash. He brought up his Standard issues M16 preparing for the last fight. Walker's ammo supply was running low, with only a clip left, and he knew that he would soon have to rely solely on his combat knife. A light caught his eye, and with an exhale of breath, he locked on to it and fired, dropping the first guerrilla soldier, pulling behind a tree seconds before the return fire slammed into where he had been crouched moments before.
Shouting orders let Walker focus on the position of the enemy, and he let loose a barrage of gunfire. The screams of those wounded and the cursing of those still standing could be heard as the smoke billowed out of the end of his barrel. Walker dropped his rifle and pulled out his combat knife, preparing for the end. Walker tightened his grip on his knife when, with a thunk, a grenade landed next to him. "Oh, fuck! " Walker shouted as he jumped away. The ear-ringing blast forced Walker to the ground. The pain of the shrapnel burning into his back, blood stinging his eyes, forcing himself up and advancing.
Shouting and stumbling, Walker challenges, "You'll have to kill me on my feet, you bastards!" The simple pain of moving made him want to die. He didn't notice he was shot until he began to fall backward.
Walker expected to hit the ground but, he kept falling and falling until he fell through the world falling into a never-ending darkness.
