VERSE IX
Read with A little Death slowed or original version by the Neighborhood.
The gnarls of the dead, the woes of the souls grounded in despair.
The black flames of destruction, the crucifix of Condemnation and the tears of a once pure angel now fallen and on the verge of death.
Paying the price for sin that was not her own, becoming the sacrifice for a transgression she did not commit.
The perpetrator of these sins, yet was standing before her, smiling , daring to utter the word.
" I'll spare you."
How puny! His impunity was devastating and it filled her with disgust.
Yet, why ?. Why does she find solace in his words? Why does she feel that without his intervention, she ends here?. Eaten up by the consequences of evil that were not of her works?
Yes, this once again further solidifies the impartiality of existence.
She was the one of whom elevated the battle to such level, it was a gamble nonetheless.
But now this was a costly one.
She has no idea this was the penance, the cause of self.
She has no idea this was how far she could go to complete a mission? Even defying the rules of existence that she lives and serves to guard and live by.
She had just broken her own oath.
So, this? Was this the plan of all these gods? Did they already deem her fallen before she had even lost her divine status?
Was this all their ploy? Was she just a pawn in cruel game?
A game being played by the deities and this..
Her left eye was then gnawed upon by a baby.
The searing pain she felt, she could not describe.
This is hell, it hurts. It hurts so bad. Are these the sufferings of mortals of whom defy existence?.
How cruel, no matter how sacrilegious their sins were— this pain, no one should ever feel such.
" Oh, how devastating and soul crushing it must be for you?" His voice responded.
She could see him walking towards her, is such consequences what he embodies and feels all the time?.
Such agony?
" Yes, it is what I feel all the time. Since I was born, I had it, saw it, lived in and with it.".
Huh!. He must be lying!.
No being can live with such continuous agony and torment? Besides it's all the consequences of his sins? How? These consequences are far too severe .
She knew Kato could read her mind, after all that has happened, such trivial power should be a child's game to him.
As he stepped towards her, the dead souls gave way ceasing their ravage upon her flesh.
The time vacuum would not break nor shatter until the penance by existence had been served fully, meaning her death and eternal damnation.
When supernatural beings of her status die, they are sent to the devastating realm that is the absence of Good, the presence of evil.
It was not the Nether, no.. the nether is even a beautiful haven compared to that realm.
Existence has a way of making sure consequences of each actions were served accordingly.
And she does not want to go there. No!. She wants to keep living. She had done nothing wrong.
She is sorry if she had transgressed against them, all she needed was to live and go back to the life she had.
Even if her status as an angel was removed, she just wants to live.
" And that's why you would die." Kato looked upon her.
What? What does he mean by....
She felt Kato pick up her head from the hands of the dead.
She stared right into his eyes, immediately she shivered and closed her right eye.
What was that? She cannot even look into him? All she saw were the dead souls, screaming, begging to leave their eternal torment.
How?. How?.
A newfound horror enroached her,she could have gnashed her teeth but she had none.
Her jaw had been brutally ripped off.
Yet how was she still alive? She could feel her soul dissipating yet she still lived.
" The manipulative ability of the gods are beyond your comprehension!. That is why you will serve them and keep serving them.". His statement aroused new questions in her mind.
" Do not falter, for if you wish to live —" he touched the remaining part of her face, instantly maggots erupted from her skin, once again she relived in agony but she felt her head becoming whole again.
" You must serve me!."
She felt her arms and the beating of her heart, she looked down upon her self.
Her upper half had been reconstructed along with her arms, an exact replica of her body and bones.
Serve him? As a worker of he who possesses iniquity? If she accepts this, she is eternally damned. If she doesn't, she dies and still she would be sent to the realm for eternally damned beings?..
What's the difference, a longer lifespan? She has no eternal rest, only death.
There is no reason to....
" You shall find the happenings of your sister, and you would have the chance of revenge.... against me, against the gods." His voice more demanding.
She could not help but noticed his body had been full regenerated, but he still possessed the body of boy despite his soul spanning for a range of years now.
Why? Does he like the body of a child?
" You need not trifle yourself with trivial matters," he brought her face close to his.
She gulped and her heart raced.
What would she do? She has nothing to lose right? Her eternal rest is compromised either way, correct?
But she has something to gain if she accepts his offer, she could learn of what happened to her sister, learn the plot of the gods and even send warnings to her angel colleagues of the rebellious acts of the gods whom are defying existence by siding with an absolute opposite, a pillar of creation.
There is only one reason why they are doing this? To overturn existence, and step into Endlessness.
But Endlessness is impossible, the star sequence is to large that it can even be considered Endlessness.
Yet, why does she find solace in his words?
She must ask him one question?
" Why did you wish to spare me? You have nothing to gain from me?." Her voice broken by betrayal, cracked from sorrow.
She needs to know why.
He heaved a large sigh.
" It is true, I have nothing to gain. You need not bother with menial matters. I just took a liking to you." He said, yet his face was expressionless.
Bullshit!. Shit, she just cursed. Well, she was not divinity anymore so that can be done.
Yet she could not help but think about her life and past before. .
She had peace of mind, because there was eternal rest assured.
Now!. Now she had none.
Eternal peace nor rest was not assured anymore, yet she still had something to gain.
If she finds anything good and actually can help the angels know the ploy of these gods? She had won, even won over this being that wishes to put her in slavery.
With that, she has made decision.
" I shall serve you, my Lord.". She voiced her decision. Yes, so now she won't live for her sake but the sake of creation, sake of her colleagues and the sake of the mortals..
It's her ultimate sacrifice, a sacrifice for the greater good.
She could think of these and not be bothered, she had devised all this plan in a language only she understands, no one else.
It is able to resist the power to comprehend all languages and the power to read minds.
Yes, a language she has spent a large portion of her divinity to make even though she recovered it of course.
" Good girl,"
At once, the halos the three halos she had as a divine being appeared above her head, gradually reducing its shimmering light, and crumbling to dust into nothingness.
No horns emerged, surprisingly so.
Her golden hair, had now turned black. A testimony to her new state as a worker of Iniquity, and she who walks in sin.
Her lower half was regenerated, the mark of the crucifix crushing her remained upon her waist.
Her skin from a brilliant warming color to pale whitish ash.
Unclothed and naked, she was before him in the pure state of Iniquity.
Did she possess it, yes and no!.
Kato has bestowed upon her, the power second to iniquity.
The power his sister possessed, it was the easiest to cover up and keep using to live in the mortal world but a certain type of major deformity would exist.
The deformity on Seraphina however never existed, as angelic bodies can retain this power without deforming at all.
The power , it's name profanitas or as it's commonly called; Profanity.
" Stand, Seraphina."
At once she stood before him, upon the heads of the souls of the dead.
She was taller than him, yes. Angels are far bigger than mortals, but due to his child stature, it was amplified even more.
Neither of them were clothed, yet none of them seemed to care.
" You are quite large, even more than a mortal adult." He snapped his fingers, at once she gained the size of a mortal adult.
" Good, your first mission is to be my sister's protector in the Nether."
Huh!. She instantly looked at him. His face still expressionless.. he was serious.
She has never been to the nether, she doesn't even know how to act there.
" Ofcourse, it's not now. I'll have my elder sister familiarize her surroundings and understand her power."
Huh!. She intesified her gaze upon him.
What does he mean by that?. She can die if something unknown...
" Do not bother about trivial things, Seraphina. Do you dare think for you master?."
Instantly she knelt down..
" No, sir!"
Great!. Alright now she lives, but how would they leave this vacuum. Existence needs its penance pai—
Within a split moment, she saw her Kato, her new master, cut his head off.. feed it to the dead and the vacuum was broken.
Huh!.
She could not decide the happenings before her, as it was too vague.
Once again, soft earthy smell filled her nostrils.
She loved it, it is was a lifesaver from the awful rotten smell in the vacuum.
Her feet sunken beneath the water logged yet cold soil. It seems, it had just stopped raining.
The cool wind was spine chilling against her exposed flesh.
" Alright, what do we do from here on master?".
" Don't call me that, my name is fine." Kato remarked.
He too was a little cold.
" Yes, sir." She would think no further.
" I think clothing would be our biggest necessity sir." She had to voice her opinion. She was cold and could feel insects piercing her skin.
" Yes." He affirmed. " I know a place, it's not far from here."
She was dumbfounded. Why can he not just create a simple piece of clothing for the both of them?".
He took a step from her, he began walking away.
" I have exhausted lot of strength, plus I cannot just materialize things if I am mentally stressed." He turned towards her suddenly, his gaze fierce.
" I killed myself for you, you know." He spoke up.
She nodded.
" Sorry, sir Kato." She followed him.
Yes of course, she cannot comprehend what he had done, to pay the penance.
Nor how all those realms and realities dispersed before she could blink.
She has no right to question his actions.. all she has to do now is, just follow him and let her plans be achieved.
She knew not his purpose, but she would cling onto him for survival.
She has to quench her disturbing thoughts and follow him, that is duty of a servant, and a slave.
But such power, he killed himself? To pay the sacrifice and sins.
But those are his sins, did they reenter into his soul , is he constantly still in torment?.
How did he even pay the penance— he is still alive?
How did the star sequence even stop?
They both are supposed to perish for breaking the law, how did he overturn it to one individual?.
What about the otherworldly beings? How did he make them not interfere when they noticed the battle?.
More where in her mind, but she quelled them.
Maybe he merely pleased existence with a sacrifice.. the sacrifice of the thousands of dead souls?.
No, he said he exhausted alot? And he is also the possessor of the sole root evil?
Did he sacrifice his ability to strengthen existence?. What did he do?
Well, whatever it was....
She looked up at the moon... reminiscing her past time and maybe her last time living this kind of peace...
For whatever reason, and she is sure her master is aware....
A battle of this magnitude, and a battle between the pillars of creation, the two absolute polar opposites, must never and would never happen again...
For a very, very long time.
" Welcome to Eidengard, Seraphina and welcome to the life of the mortals." Kato suddenly appeared before her.
She nodded. Yes, of course.
He was reading her mind, she didn't encrypt her thoughts in her own made language.
He must have read she has a plan, but she let it not bother her.
If he was scared of her plan, she would not be standing before him now at all, still living.
