For some time, Mr. Calderon's question floated in the air like a blade waiting to fall. Nobody was rising up to answer because his question offered only two paths, which were potentially wrong.
But some daring ones chose that path regardless. A few hands shot up and answered as follows.
"Protocol!"
"Assets!"
"Mr Calderon, both!"
All of which were met with the same response. With the instructor shaking his head and a disappointed click of his tongue.
Those who kept quiet were expecting such an outcome. And Conrad breathed a sigh of relief for keeping quiet. Not that he was planning on answering anyway.
"You're thinking like test takers, not assassins! There are no right answers in the field. There are only answers that keep you alive..."
He said while pacing around the front.
"Let's change the question. Make it a bit simpler for you lot. What do you do when a guard notices you during infiltration?"
